press keeps saying ottawa needs a second line center , so im thinking (though if im ottawa i say no ) offer lang , hudler plus say a 5th round draft choice for mike fisher . hes a good two way player with speed that could play 2nd line left wing or 3rd line center . hed make team younger , and his overall affect would be beyond what lang contributes this year (imo) , and to my eye hes got offensive upside that may make him a 60 point man .

just want to say my first wish is to add a forward that can chip in offensively because with new rules offense is what its going to take imo . but if that cant happen or we can do that and also bolster d i think carney is an excellent stay at home dman , smart and rugged . and i know how people say we need to get younger and ive been saying same thing for 3 years , but admiral bowman ( i call bowman that because we had general bo on land , and hockeys on water [frozen] so we have admiral bo on ice ) is sitting down there in florida calling the shots and i know hes thinking all along that the most important factor in hockey is having dmen that dont cough up the puck or your done , so he loves the vet dmen that can handle the puck better than anybody . and if carneys a commited pro maybe he can do like murphy and chelios and perform at a high level several more years . plus he knows babcocks system and babcock knows exactly what he can expect from carney .

if we could ship lang somewhere in a 3 way deal (because stlouis wants youth to rebuild imo ) and get tkachuk back then have a first line centered by datsyuk + shannahan on wing , 2nd line centered by zetterberg + tkachuk on wing making top 2 lines both having great passers with great finishers and keep this roster together this and next season i see 2 more cup parades approaching because tkachuk is UNSTOPPABLE , and thats on a weak team . he'd score a goal per game with the great passing team wings are .

ive seen abdelkader on several msu broadcast this year and he looks great to me for a freshman . im guessing hes around 200 lbs which makes it impressive to skate so well , plus has very good vision/smartness making excellent passes , also seems rugged and looks to have goal scorers instincts . hes the kind of player i look at and say possible superstar when matures .

i think sundin is a great hockey player , smart , excellent passer , bull with puck down low , excellent shot , leader , clutch . and if i could trade lang in a 3 way somewhere for something back to toronto along with hudler and a pick to toronto ide do it quickly . and to me sundins style doesnt rely on speed and he could play 2 - 3 years after this one . only thing i dont know about is his contract status beyond this year , if its too much than i wouldnt do cuz of cap .

if chara is on the market next year he should be the #1 focus , hes one of the most valuable hockey players on earth .

to me if nolans healthy and doesnt cost more than $1.25 i think he could help by giving wings a rugged player with hands in front of opposition net during playoffs when down low power hockey is needed to score goals . the questions i have though is his back healthy and how much salary will he command ?

press keeps saying edmonton wants big center and vet goalie . plus edmonton has cap space . so offer lang , osgood (plus he"s from area ) , hudler ( theyve took on small players like comrie before ) for torres . theyd fill their holes , hudler would give them some youth back to replace torres . we"d get younger for future , get a good size power forward type with hands to finish for either datsyuk or zetterberg whod then both be centering lines . plus we"d be just as good this year or better with torres replacing langs offence . now if i were edmonton i wouldnt do it because i like torres , but maybe theyd bite . ide even sweeten it up with howard and worry about backing up legace at trade deadline .

ive been thinking about my owen nolan post and how hes always been injured and that if wings save their $1.5 for trade deadline when theyll only have less than 1/3 of season remaining and thusly shall only have to pay 1/3 of a player they aquires seasonal salary and be able to get better odds on a sucsesful player that could be earning up to around $4.5 annually like satan or if more cap opens federov ide save my money til then . they could even with $1.5 at trade deadline bring in like 3 cheaper salaries and really fortify .
