yup, if the ducks get sundin we absolutely need to counter. And feds is not a counter, Hossa needs to come here.
-
more than a million times
-
you serious? People on here complain about re-signing hossa to our terms, and you wanna pick up richards with that rip-off of a contract? No thanks
-
lmao ansar says hossa would be a rental...even he doesn't understand. He says salary isnt possible to handle Hossa....youngguns, go write to ansar with your math
-
blahh guess feds will have to be our scorer pick up now
-
i sure hope so
-
i think you did, but its a good vid nonetheless. Flip would never do that
-
lol bertuzzi is the second highest paid forward on their team? thats hilarious. I realize perry is coming up to deal time, but still
-
I honestly dont know. I could see how they could do Sundin as he wont be signing with the team he is dealt to, but Hossa will be. If you look above though, it looks like Anaheim is actually not in the running by what Burke said, compared to the statements that the thrashers are close to a deal with one of the 4, now 3 i suppose.

awesome show
-
According to sources i have read, forgot where it was, maybe the thrashers forums, contenders were officially listed as being down to 1. Anaheim 2. Wings 3. San Jose 4. Montreal
-
"Right now, I've got nothing that's imminent," Burke said Wednesday. "Usually by this time, you've gone past concepts and you're down to names and picks. And I'm not there yet with anybody. So, either I'm slow, or it's a slow development market. The fact that so many of these deadline deals went awry last year has probably calmed things down a bit." Link Here So, if there were four teams in the running for Hossa, and Burke says he is nowhere imminent, and the Trashers claim one team is in talks with Hossa, the ducks seem to be out of the running. So there was three? SJ, Wings and Habs?
-
Well considering sundin is almost for signing with toronto again in the summer, i believe that would work with their cap situation. Going after Hossa would not work as he is indeed looking for a longer contract with whichever team he is dealt to.

24 pts, -8?
-
wow hahahahah
-
It is actually claimed that he is still 1 or 2 years off his prime. How scary is that
-
thanks for that input canadian wings

well said matt

Yeah pretty much, unless we want to get all sentimental and settle for mediocrity when superb is staring us in the face
-
I completely agree Aussie. But we are talking about Hossa here, and Atlanta has stated that they want two right now players, that are young and moving up. I would say throw Kopay in there with Flip.
-
exactly, I am much more for acquiring Hossa over sundin, who WILL be a rental player and probably command something close to what a Hossa deal would command.
-
Heh, what makes you so sure theyre not? Hopeful speculation? We aren't throwing away our future for one player. It would flip and maybe a d-man. We aren't talking about some 38 year old who is on the verge of retiring. Marian Hossa is 29 with a lot of life left in him.
-
Hossa is 29 I believe, so 6 years older than Flip.
-
How much risk can there be. Whoever gets Hossa will also be getting him with a confirmed long term deal that he has claimed as a requirement in acquiring him. Flip is on pace for 20 goals. Ok so what? Hossa is tearing that to shreds. A superstar for a young guy getting started, who we don't even know if he will reach the standards of Marian Hossa. Kindl Quincey and the like are not all going to be traded before flip. If anything maybe 1 or 2 of the upcoming d-men will go over with flip, but to land hossa Flip has to be the center of the trade. In my book that is ok.
