  1. MacDonald has shown signs of being a good goalie today, but he has been unsure of himself on every play. Rebound control has been about 0% and on that 3rd goal, he didn't follow the puck at all, he expected Lidstrom to make the play and Umberger knew it and capitalized. Not a bad game for him persay seing that he is still young, but has to be more sure of himself or he'll never be able to play a third period when the pressure mounts. As shown the last two games. As I wrote this he let in another one, so it may be moving towards a bad game persay, but he has shown some talent today. I think he was in too deep into the net on that one left the whole left side of the net open.

  2. Ray Emery is not a bad goalie at all, but he is INSANE...

puckloo I agree with you on this one, it really does punish the Sens more and they have to be getting tired of all his crap.

The guy is a great young goalie but he already has a horrible track record.

He has been asked to remove Mike Tyson from his mask, to which he called the league racist, when it is obvious they asked him to remove it for the fact that Tyson is a convicted rapist.

He slashed Lapierre, He got in a fight with a forward in the AHL and was quoted saying he wanted to fight Lapierre as well...Earth to Ray, goalies shouldn't be trying to get in fights with forwards. He really needs to get himself under control because he could truly be a #1 goalie for the Sens for years to come.

  3. Trading Hudler isn't a good Idea in my opinion. He has shown signs of being a good scorer this season and I would rather re-sign Datsyuk than Forsberg over the offseason and you know it wouldn't be both. I know it'll be hard to get Datsyuk into a proper $$$ range but I would rather try to get him back than to trade for, then re-sign FOrsberg because Forsberg is old with injury problems and Datsyuk has been great this year, and if on a line with Hank in the playoffs he may even perform.

I think that I would rather trade Williams than Hudler. Because Williams for a possible renty wouldn't have any sort of sorrow for me and I would be sad to see Hudler go.

Edit: In no way am I saying I don't want Forsberg. i think he would be great for the team IF healthy. BUT I think Hudler has too much potential to trade away, and I would rather re-sign Datsyuk for 6 million than Forsberg for 5 million

  4. At this very moment is Kronner worth 3 million a season over the next 5 seasons...no...

At the same time I agree that you have to take gambles in the new NHL if you are going to succeed. Kronner could have great seasons in the next 3 years with his potential, former AHL Eddie SHore (outstanding D-man) award, and he won MVP and Best defender in the 2006 Worlds.

If Kronwall becomes half the player he could be he is worth 3 million a season, and if he lives up to his potential we have a great deal on him at 3 million a season as our cap hit.

Good risk and if it doen't pay off it shouldn't be too bad. At least it isn't like the gamble the Isles took on DiPietro.

I vote defiinatly not to trade him.

  5. Casey had his calf hurt at bat today...chances of tigers winning goes down drastically without him in the game because we dont have another 1st baseman and he is the clutch hitter in the lineup...

    Ouch...

    Hope it isnt serious

  6. Sweet game tonight.

    Magic numbers now stand at:

    Division 8, Wild Card 2.

Here's to another Tigers win and ChiSox loss tomorrow. And maybe another Twins loss while we're at it.

GO TIGERS...I have been loving this whole thing, havent been in the playoffs since 1987, the year i was born...its been a dream season

  7. HORRIBLE...Shanny doesnt deserve 4 million dollars, I would force myself to be glad about 3 million...

I think that it is time to let go of some of these guys...

Holland said theree would be considerable changes after we aere eliminated...I DONT SEE ANY...We Lose Stevie, Overpay Shanny, and possibly bring in BELFOUR...whose back has been bad for years...

Signing Shanny for 4 million dollars is a HUGE waste of money for a guy who sucked in the playoffs...especially on a 2 year deal...

  8. Old news.

Howard has been the man in GR for quite a while now. MacIntyre started tonight because Jimmy was called up. MacDonald is not expected back soon.

That is the reason why I asked if people thought he would retire. Because MacIntyre looks like #2 in GR now and MacDonald's back is becoming more chronic than a one time thing. Especially with Liv coming over.

    Next year will look like

    Detroit:

    Legace/Osgood

    Liv

    GR:

    Howard

    MacIntyre

Which leaves MacDonald as the odd and injured man out

  9. MacDonald had surgery on his back over the offseason and has been out for a while with another back injury this season...He has been a late bloomer and is developing more than just a one time thing with the back issues. A bad back isn't good fr life or for goaltending. Does anybody else think that maybe MacDonald should cut his loses and retire before he can barely walk?

I know that it is kinda rough...but he has to know that Liv is on his way over, Howard is the future, MacIntyre isn't that bad and Manny and/or Ozzie will be back next year, and with a bad back it will be hard to find a job elsewhere.

I think that back issues may prematurly end the career of Joey MacDonald.

I could be wrong and this could be mild, but Redwings central says:

With the playoffs right around the corner, Howard’s strong play has reduced the blow of losing starter Joey MacDonald to a back injury.

I hope he can stay but I wouldnt want the guy to jeopardize his own health to stay in the game

  11. It can make us feel good about ourselves because we finally beat up on a team that is a "good team." THey are the best in the East and we disposed of them easily. It was good to see Datsyuk and Zetterberg back on a line together. I just hope they stay together this time. Lets take this win and build from it...and with Kronwall coming back soon we could really start to roll.

  12. I was at the Grand Rapids, Rochester Game tonight and they said Flipulla was a healthy scratch so i thought they sent him down and I asked some guy in street clothes if he was Flipulla and it wasn't... huh.gif

But in happy news MacDonals played a great game and I still think Hudler deserves a better shot with the Wings
