First of all I want to get an explaination to why we need more offence. We have a whole line up that can score. Aside from the Grind Line we have 3 line of players that are more than capable to put up 5 goals a night. Drapers point production has gone down this year for simple reasons. He is playing alot more PK this year and alot less EV minutes then last season. Not to mention his right hand man McCarty is gone. All this trade does is add in another Handicap parking space at the Joe because Allison will get injuried in no time.

Who much do these guys make because St.Louis is not going to be gaining salary anytime soon.

I love the idea of Luongo coming to motown but I dont see the wings dealing for him. If Detriot does happen to get Roberto than it will defintaly be a FA signing next season. My reasoning is simple. Manny Legace is having a tremendous season this year if the wings think he can continue his number then he will be resigned hands down. But if the case happens where Legs doesnt perform down the stretch then you can expect some big cash heading towards Luongo and probably somewhere in and around 4.5 million a season. If that happens where money needs to be found its given right to us. Steve and Chelios are pretty much done for next season unfortunitly and Jiri Fischer's career is in thin air leaving the wings with $4,556,000 which is just enough. Of course that will leave us 3 man short but thats what the draft is for an with this "NEW NHL" we will have to come acustom to making sacrifices at some positions and who knows maybe we the scouts can go out there and do what they did this year by picking up Sammy and Lilja not to mention our rooks Lebda and Johan.

This is not the year we go out goalie shopping nor shop any goalies around. 2 years ago we had to many goalies and we let the best ones get away. This time around our ever reliable back up goalie Manny Legace has shown that he can win games. One thing he hasnt been given the chance to do yet is play the season as the starter. The most games he's played in his career for one season is in and around the 30 game mark. Lets keep him with Osgood because we know Ozzie can produce the Ws even if they're ugly 4 goal against games. But we also cant forget that Ozzie and Legz have played together before when we won the cup in 98 so lets not just to conclusion that Kenny will ship either of them anytime soon. And then.... We have Jimmy Howard. He is a great tender that just needs experience and games under his belt. Like one of you said in this thread earlier in the NCAA you only get to play so many games a week. There is absolutly no doubt in my mind that 1 or 2 years down the road he will be suiting up with the Wings game in and game out so expect Jimmie to be our man of the future.

Nolan is a washed out player who now hasnt played for 2 years. I was recently watching Canadian Sport Fishing and guess who was on it? Mr.Nolan himself. I would hope some team like Colarado takes him and he cost them a large sum of cash and produce 5 goals in 40 games. Definatly a guy to stay away from.

Jakub Kindl is a great player and it is showing with Kitchener. There is no reason to judge his performance against a Canadian Squad that is forced to remain undefeated because of the performance they had last year and theWorld Junoirs. The Czechs in general are also not much of a team to take on a hard-hitting Canadian team because other than our boy Kindl they dont have much hitting poer to defend. And to address the power forward player that everyone wanted the Wings to pick up in the draft. I look at it this way. We picked up Shanny in a trade then we picked up Lang in a trade and those 2 players are our biggest guys we put on the ice up front. So I dont see wats going to stop Kenny from grabbing someone like Bertuzzi or another player of his caliber.
