I like it...Ozzie's on TV now
-
Eh, that's crap...but whatever, they're rarely right, right?
-
That was great. I KNEW Ozzie would own the Preds. He owns the Stars, too. Too bad the games are B2B...ha ha. Glad to see Big Bert get the 2 assists...woo! Intense game, but I'm still concerned about scoring...good to see we are finding ways to win in spite.
-
First of all, who cares who's better than who Ozzie and Hasek can both kill the Preds. Don't encourage the dolts you will just cause us all to ban together, name calling will get you nowhere. Secondly, HC probably has more hockey knowledge in her pinky than you have in your whole body so I don't think you have to belittle and berate her to make your point. What she said wasn't just semi-intellegent it is the general thinking of many people on the board that it would be good for Hasek to be ready for a first round opponent, but not to overwork him by giving him b2b when it is completely unnecessary to do so. And lastly, just because you support Ozzie does not make you a homer. He's a great goalie, and he's done really well against the Preds so I suggest that YOU chill out. PS. get a Thesaurus as you used mediocre a record number of times in your posts.

I'm excited! I think this'll be a good one, and I always get excited for games against the Preds! Everyone who's predicting that Bert will have a big night and get his first DRW goal, I am with you! I think so too! Can't wait!
-
Ha ha ha, there you go!
-
I think it's good for the simple reason that we could play Dallas FIRST in the playoffs...if we face the Preds it'll probably be 3rd round if at all....there's no possible way to face them really in round 1. Plus, Oz has been really good against the Preds, Oz is always good against the Stars. Dom has been really good aginst the Preds and Stars. It's win-win.

The real truth is that there could be 3 teams in this league that are all equally fantastic and only 1 is going to win. Should the other 2 be dismantled? This is hockey...a million things could determine the success of a team..injuries, bad bounces, and other intangibles that would be impossible to estimate. I think Babs has been doing a good job. I don't see why we'd get rid of him because of 1 or 2 losing post seasons...everyone deserves a couple of chances...usually winning is a process. Figure out what works and what doesn't. Every time we lose we find out what doesn't work...and every time we get new people we go back to square 1 not knowing how they will fit in the system, etc. That's why you have to pick and choose what you change...and I'm happy that I believe in my heart that is what Ken Holland will do. He won't make rash decisions, but small things that will improve the team. That's why, imo, Babs will be back next year, rain or shine. Barring something crazy happening.
-
Totally agree. I really hope we win this year, but I'll be happy if we give it our all, you know? We can't win every year...we can't win every other year, and we can't win even every 3 years. I'm at least happy we have a good, exciting team, who wins most nights! Whether or not Babs is back will not be 100% determined on if we win the Cup. The DRW staff is not going to make a rash decision, and knows more than any of us what kind of things go into winning the Cup. The Wings will only change up if they can get someone who is better than Babs.

What do we think about Bertuzzi replacing Holmstrom on the ZDH line?
Offsides replied to sean's topic in General
I honestly only put that 'if ZDH doesn't work' line in there so you wouldn't repeat the same thing for the 30th time, but it didn't work. Do you always have to be so condescending to people? There really is no reason to put that whole last part in. We all know that you think that no one would ever break up the best line in scoring. I think you are a smart person, I really do, but you come off as a condescending jerk in almost all of your posts if you disagree with someone. Also, at this point I'd just like to see Zetterberg playing at all. Very often what worked in the regular season DOES NOT work in the playoffs so I'm sure there will be line juggling. -
Ha ha, yeah, that is great. I wish he wouldn't take dumb penalties, but there are worse things he could do. He really has been good for us though.

Bert/Pavs/(Flip/Homer) Z/Lang/Huds Calder/Cleary/(Flip/Homer) That is pretty good. If the Pavs/Z/Homer line is not clicking in the playoffs I'd like to see something like this...tweaked a bit...I'd have to think about it some more to complete it. -
312...last year he had 46. Last year...Zetterberg also had 46 assists Yzerman had 20 and he's an awesome playmaker imo.
-
I like Lang. I think he has his faults but he does good stuff for the team *shrug* I dunno. I can't think of any player that bugs me at this particular time. Usually I try to like everyone.
-
I'd give Malts a chance, because he can do little things that don't show up on the scoresheet. But like I said earlier this season, I like Malts, but I think the team has moved on a bit past him. He should have to earn his spot like everyone else. If there's someone who would be better in the playoffs than him, he should have to sit.

UGH. You are a broken record. Do you have any actual logic to back up this statement because I see 2 big problems with it. 1. The line has been broken up for quite a while now and we've had to find new ways to win, which just SHOWS that you shouldn't rely on one line combo for everything and 2. The best coaches in the world juggle lines all the time because of point 1. Exactly. We dont' know what it'll be like when Z gets back. Also, even if that's the 'best line in hockey' if you can improve upon it, you do. I won't mind seeing Bert with Calder and Lang if Huddles gets moved down the ranks either, whichever way ends up working the best, but if he's BEST on the top line...I say go for it. Bertuzzi is one of the best players on our team. We haven't been able to see it quite yet, but he is. We can't just throw him on the 4th line. -

I'd love to see the top like be Z, Dats, & Bert Then again, I want our second line to be Calder, Lang, Huddles Dats is working well with Bert. I'm not taking away from Holmer, but Bert > Holmstrom. Holmstrom has definitely flourished playing with our top 2 players, but that doesn't mean he should stay at top line. He has 0 points and is -1 throughout March. I think Bertuzzi addition to the line would take it to the next level. Though, if it doesn't work, go back to Holmstrom...no harm done. When we didn't have Z....Calder, Huds and Lang filled the scoring shoes. Hudler has scored some very timely goals, when it looks like no one else will, Calder has been a beast...just working his butt off, and Lang, though no one ever wants to admit it, has done his part too...and usually performs in the playoffs. There's my argument for lines 1 & 2 for what it's worth. Of course, huddles will have to be able to play...so it's all up in the air. edit: Edited because I realized Holmer did get an assist tonight. -
I miss goals. Not because I need high scoring games...oh no. REally, because I know that if they can't produce we are going to be in trouble during the playoffs. Maybe it's just the new line combos...I don't know, but what is the deal? And it's not as if they are necessarily playing bad, just NOT getting it done. At least we won tonight, though!

Oh no! Don't waste your money on playoff t-shirts !! *scolds*
-
Ozzie is like a fine wine...that doesn't age, but only gets better :!:
-
Hudler has done much more with his time than Flip has. I'd take Huddles over Flip, but honestly I'd take both of them and let others sit...or rather...if others DON'T score, sit them and give the young guns a chance.

How far the Wings are going to go in the playoffs?
Offsides replied to Zetterberg is the man!!'s topic in General
I disagree on both points. 1. Bertuzzi hasn't been invisible HERE. Maybe this is just the team to energize him. It's just a matter of time before he finds the net. And don't forget Calder! 2. While I think Hasek will stand on his head, I think that the key to winning will be finding our scoring edge in the playoffs...get our best guns firing. I don't think it matters that they are small when they are scoring up a storm. Also, I think Flips and Huddles will be a boost of energy that no one expected. So, basically. Hasek won't be able to drag us to a Cup win WE NEED TO SCORE. But if we have a slow start, I do hope he'll drag us through that. -

I don't think I've ever had quote of the year before That's why I don't fret about who we play...no team really poses a threat...as long as we are on our game. -
5 Reasons Lang SHOULD NOT go: 1. Huddles DOES NOT approve 2. Who would be our big scapegoat? Seriously, who? 3. He is 5th in like everything. Who doesn't like a #5 guy? 5 is a good round number 4. He usually can do stuff in the playoffs which is always good. 5. He has a funny song when he scores a goal at the Joe

Ha, it's catching on! I can't wait to unveil my next sig (not that I'm retiring my current sig, just changing for awhile) Happy Hudler. Ha ha.
