Haha, Dorian wishes he looked that young and innocent!

Ozzie will always be #1 to me and always has been. The Red Wings were missing something in the days when he wasn't around and now they are complete again. I am very proud of what he's accomplished.

Like the haircuts, both of you..very attractive! Aww, the kids are gorgious, DaKine!

That made me laugh

I think some people are taking this a bit too serious. We won the Cup but Lids and Ozzie aren't the center of the universe...most people prolly don't know who they are...well now a few more do I thought it was cute and funny...the guys probably were rolling their eyes a bit on the inside but I bet they had fun and it was a rush and a laugh for them to do.

I thought it was awesome. I only expected them to go out and shake hands and show the Cup and go...so them going out and acting awesomely dorky..and I say that in the best way because dorks are awesome...was great. Loved it

Psssh I loved it...haha!

Because the Wings have created such a dynasty over the past 10 years we've racked up quite a few premiere players who have been really instrumental in the Wings success and who people want to see retired that I've seen over my time on the site: Yzerman, Fedorov, Lidstrom, Osgood, Shanahan, Hasek, and etc I've seen all mentioned. While obviously they won't all be retired you can see the reasoning and you know that Hank and Dats are probably not too far to be mentioned in the future if we continue with our success. But if you look at the teams success over the last 14 or so years...year after year we are #1...we've had 4 Cups...multiple trips to the finals and semis..a 62 win season, and on and on and you can see how we could acquire some names for the rafters...but of the names I mentioned above the least of these is Hasek...he's played very little for the Wings in the scheme of things. Great goaltender yes...retire him in Buffalo. In an unrelated note...I don't think teams should retire numbers. I think they should hang them in the rafters as an honor...like I believe they do in Toronto...well some other city but I don't remember off the top of my head. Just my opinion on that.

I remember when Oz left he said that he'd be back and not to give away his number. I always knew he'd be back. I never thought something like this would happen when we acquired Hasek. I knew Ozzie could have been #1 when Manny was handed the reigns...and then I knew he could be when we re-acquired Hasek...but everyone said he was washed up which all of us who stuck with him.. (there seems to be tons out of the woodwork now, but at the time it was a small handful).. knew that he wasn't. People who've followed him know what he did for the other teams in the interim of Hasek and Cujo. The day he came back I remember I was running about and jumping around my house so excited that my favorite player had come back home, crying tears of joy...but even I didn't think he would be vindicated in such an awesome way. I knew he could, but he's so unassuming that he took his backup role....when he could have been a starter elsewhere...and you'd always see him before games smiling and laughing and being friendly. Way to go, Ozzie! I'm so proud. You've always been #1 to me.

I didn't see that. That means a ton to me. *tears*

I did one for the season, but never quite finished it...and I don't have the clips or time probably to do a good playoff one, unfortunately.
-
I thought he was hilarious and probably a little drunk...hee hee. I thought it was great.

I'm different then everyone I think... 1998 was #1...1997 would be #1 but then right after all the awesomeness bad things happened and it just really put a huge black cloud over 1997...plus 1997 was such a mindblowing experience almost..and 1998 I could enjoy what was going on more it seemed. 1997 would be #2 for me because it really was the greatest...that first Cup I've ever seen...I loved it, but then with the accident and everything like I said, that will always hang over 1997 for me. 2008 this year was really great, and had I not seen the other 2 Cups I'd probably be the greatest thing ever because I love the team and the emotion was there...but just having experienced the other Cups I feel they had the edge...still this team and effort has been great 2002 I didn't like that year at all...we bought our team...I felt it was a sellout year

I already thought he was...but now for sure..yeah!

I always had faith in this team and in Ozzie in general so I don't have apologies that way....BUT....I didn't think we'd win this year with all the injuries and with no secondary scoring pickup at the deadline...so I will apologize for doubting Ken Holland and for doubting the Wings via injuries. The only Red Wing I think I criticized and said would prohibit us from getting the Cup got pulled and put on the bench so I still think I was right about that.

That was truly horrible. I feel dumber. I just read it and was thinking that this person has no idea what they are talking about. You would pretty much have to not know what you are talking about to make such wild assumptions...basically making Turco the second coming, and Osgood some dope who wandered into a dressing room and was handed a stick. Stupid. Does she not realize that the Dallas Stars have been a pretty consistantly good team, too? Stupid article. And don't get me started on the NYI stuff. Yeah, it's difficult to explain how a 30th place team went to making the playoffs...Ozzie was terrible..pssh.
