Wow, that is such BS. We didn't win the Cup in spite of him. That's the kind of attitude that's made Ozzie overlooked all of his career, but it's such complete crap, and at this point, I think that's clear. I think everyone just expected him to roll over and retire all these years because he wasn't good enough to handle the big bad NHL, but you know..he never has, and he continues to do well wherever he goes. He's been extremely versatile bending his role to become the backup here...not because he couldn't be starter but because he loves Detroit. Since Ozzie's been on the team the team's been extremely successful, in part because he's a very good goalie and has done his part when needed to. Every other player in the NHL's talent is not diminished by with good players ... well except Ozzie who apparently drags down the Wings....biggest crap statement I've ever heard....and talking out both sides of your mouth. Please explain how the Wings had to win despite Ozzie? Utter rubbish.

I've decided that Hudler plays better in close proximity to Lang.

I know he was injured for one of the all star games and didn't play.

I was really really happy when Hank got that goal at the end there..hee hee. It was cool. A good game was had by all. I'm weirdly tired now.

If Hasek comes strong, good for him, but I doubt he'll be playing better than Ozzie is. The problem I have is Hasek gets to be starter just because he's back. There's no reason why that should be the case. He should have to earn it. That's all I'm saying. In either case...I don't think Hasek should NEVER play until Ozzie loses, that would be dumb. I mean...no goalie plays every game. I have no problem with Hasek playing in the near future.

No one's bashing Hasek, they're just saying Ozzie is better right now. It makes no sense to put him in SIMPLY because his name is Hasek.

Honestly I think we should be splitting up Z and Dats...but they are like our whole scoring force...so you can't. It makes the other 3 lines seem really unbalanced imo. I feel like we have a 1st line...and a bunch of stuff going on in the other lines...not really sure what...it's unclear. Putting Flip with Pavs and putting Z with Huds I think would give us 2 solid lines...and have Franzen and Holmer in similar roles on each line. I know everyone will flip out about splitting up the 2, and it might not work, but I think it would be worth trying so we have more than one dedicated scoring lines.

I've just never been a huge supporter of Hudler/Flip playing together, they do better on other lines...Huds always played much better last year with Lang, and Flip was good with Datsyuk. I understand why they can't do that but putting 2 youngins together you can't expect the sun and the moon and the stars.

I agree. And there's a REASON he wins...and it's not because he's been on good teams. He was on 2 crappy teams and still got the wins...*ahem* tied Billy Smith with the Islanders win record...and they were 30th placed when he joined. Anyhow...he's consistant...everyone says he's inconsistant because he might let in a "soft goal" here or there...as if all goalies don't do that occasionally. But you can count on Ozzie to let in a couple and pretty much that's it.....and he's trustable back there opening up offense. Ozzie is not a fluke.
