The Wings screwed around with Fedorov A LOT on his contracts. When Fedorov gambled in 97 by not signing before the playoffs, and then winning a Cup, the Wings decided to NOT offer him a raise. Yeah, it's a business, but I think that Fedorov was just getting sick of being screwed around with on the team. It might sound dumb but it was pretty much a slap in the face every time his contract came up.

I agree he should have stayed...but come on...Fedorov was ALWAYS the scapegoat when he was here. He was questioned over and over again. The only thing that has changed for Fedorov is location, and where he is now, he's appreciated a lot more.

That's what makes me really angry. Sergei Fedorov is one of the most important Wings of all time. But for whatever reason he's always been dogged throughout his career, and he'll never get the respect he deserves here. Look at all time Red Wing stats. I believe he's 4th all time in playoff scoring...well it's all lookupable but I'm too lazy right now. Sergei accomplished in his seasons more than most other players have for the organization, and he was treated like crap by the fans when he was here, and he's treated like crap by the fans now. It sucks, and it makes no sense.

Even though we are past this...I thought, I think, I will always think that Fedorov was the most important Red Wing of the 90's. Because everyone has always NOT thought that to be the truth he's been questioned over and over again... and will never get the credit he deserved here. No no no. the HP FANDOM pwns the POTC FANDOM But Harry does not pwn Captain Jack CJ is a WAY cooler and better character than Harry....

I don't necessarily think Yashin is a cancer to the lockerroom (just like everyone liked to say about Lang lol). And really, Fedorov and Yashin aren't the same AT ALL. I like both players....well like Yashin..love Fedorov..but they aren't the same at all. You can call them both greedy or whatever but even their circumstances were different for that. Fedorov's overall game is much better than Yashin's. I just...I think they're being compared because they are both Russian. If Yashin was Canadian we'd never see the comparison. LOL, aww, I can't even stay mad at you for your mean Sergei talk haha.

I don't think he'd be BAD for the team, but he definitely frustrated me at times when I watched him on the Islanders... but he's definitely a good player. My thing is that just because I like a player doesn't mean I necessarily want him to come here...especially him...he'll be bashed more than Lang Sammy and Lilja put together I think. If we could get him, okay....but if it means not having a shot at Sergei, I'd pass. Sergei's a much better all around player.

Yes, it's all coming together now. I said I'd rather WAIT to get Sergei then spending on Yashin now. I don't even HATE Yashin like lots do on here, but I'm not thinking that I want him to be a Red Wing.
