We should have retained Bertuzzi. But I can see why we didn't....sometimes things aren't meant to be. Bertuzzi is the man though I am saying he'll get minutes from Lang, but maybe not his full load. But I do want to add that I think he could HANDLE a heavier load than he is getting.

I still love Bert. It's stupid for you to think that I wouldn't stick up for him just because he went on to greener pastures. He's not stupid. I've liked him mostly when he's not been a Wing, so I can adapt, but I'd have loved to see him here.

I'm thinking he'll take Lang's minutes. If he did so well with so little minutes...what's NOT to say he won't do better with more minutes. Who cares about his size. I mean, sure we should get BIG players (oh..yeah...they just went bye bye) but that's not Hudler's fault. Nor does that mean we shouldn't retain him. He should have retained Bert AND Huddles, but I'll take what i can get. His size was a bit of a factor in the playoffs...you know...those HUGE players that were doing the blatent penalties on him...but I can't help what the refs do either....mostly when you hold our players all down the ice, they don't score no matter who they are. The fact that he was ridden so tough by the competition kind of shows that he was a threat out there.

Hmm, picture doesn't work for me

Whatever you guys...he did really well last year with few minutes. He'll do even better next year with more!

It's called Ad Hominem, instead of attacking your stance, they try to discredit you by calling you a groupie or whatever. It usually works, because it either makes the poster stop posting because they are embarrassed, or distracts them from the topic at hand. You don't have to explain or defend why you like Bertuzzi. The length of time he was here is irrelevant to the fact that you want him to stay. I don't see why people have such a problem that people are disappointed in losing Bert...ugh.

I'm so happy! Thank goodness. I couldn't stand to lose my only favorite forward who's left!

You know, this whole argument is too bad. I AM deeply sad about Bertuzzi leaving. I was so excited when we got him. I loved the thought of his big body banging around out there...especially when he's healthy. I'm sad that we couldn't at least see how it would all pan out. Then again, I liked Bertuzzi in Vancouver, and I wasn't one of those people who just hated him after the Moore incident. I met the guy and he's a really, really nice great guy, and I'd love to see him be able to make amends in the Detroit uniform. Now that he's gone, I am really sad, because...it'll never happen. And I think it's sort of out of line to call people groupies because they are upset about a player leaving...

Anyway, it's not like lines are SET IN STONE. Try him up top, if he doesn't work, move him to a grinder.
-
I agree, but I do think Cleary will do well. I think he could earn a 2nd line spot as the year went on. Especially since we have no forwards now.
-
If we get Raycroft, Ozzie will end up being #1, unless Babs seriously does have a vendetta against him...but Raycroft could be insurance if Oz gets injured.
-
I agree. Why would he be on the 2nd line when he's never really been in the NHL before. Considering we don't have a 2nd line, I say everyone just moves up one, and we built a 4th line since that's all that's left right now.
-
Oh I was just going to say he was our secret weapon against the Preds...even though the Preds will probably be terrible now. Great minds think alike! Touché! love it. Indeed :!: Forever.
-
Yep. I'm all ready to fight for Ozzie. And no fight. BOO..lol.
-
NO, I don't ever want him on the team. And I wholeheartedly agree on the bolded points above. UGH. Say NO to stupid, diving, whining Peter Forsberg. For the love of God.
-
That is true. The fact that Ozzie didn't flip the whole organization says a lot for Ozzie's character and should teach us all about forgiveness. Actually now that I think about it...that's probably why Bert left. He wanted to get far away from Ozzie

okay, that actually made me giggle. Dammit...the last straw for D4! Those Ducks would be older than Indiana Jones
