I have a sense of humor...and jokes are only funny about 100 times then they are stale...which this is. Also, it became the basis for everyone's arguments against Lang. Sure, he could have been better, I'm not saying that he was awesome all year OR that there's not some truth to the joke, but I have this feeling that he wouldn't have been 1/2 as bashed if everyone couldn't pull out the 'Lang is lazy and he sucks' joke. What bothers me about it is 1) it's not funny anymore, it's old and 2) it gives people who can't think for themselves a weapon to use against Lang. And it will probably go away if Lang goes away. Eh...he said because of health...valid argument, but I don't think that Bert was bad enough even injured to warrant it...I think an 85% Bert will be better than most of the players that we could actually get to replace Bert...so we'll probably retain him if the price is right. fixed link

A lot of the girls think he's a cutie, so it can't be a bad thing. My sister thinks he and Kopecky are the 2 hottest Red Wings so... my sister has good taste And she doesn't even really watch hockey...just observed that.

Exactly. Ozzie = Red Wing for life. Also, I don't appreciate it. Lang is clutch and we wouldn't have gotten to the 3rd round wihtout him....should be his slogan.

You know I'm talking about Ozzie...don't be a smart ass. Ozzie would be #1 on another team. He likes it here, then fine, he's willing to do what it takes to be on the team, but he could be #1. If we got Giggy and kept Hasek then technically we'd have 2 #1's again. Is Hasek going to be backup? Is Giggy...not for 6 million.... Hasek is the best we can possibly get...and he is cheap. It would be STUPID to change that if we can in anyway keep Hasek. Hasek or Ozzie might get injured...but so could any goalie...it's all just speculation....

Healthy Bert? OMG...that's very exciting! I so hope. He's an exciting player. People like him here...people will more like him if he stays and is awesome. I think it's a good move and he will fit in well here... I'm happy, because if he gets signed well 1) I'll be happy and 2) at least ONE player I want to be re-signed will be....who knows about the others *sniff*

Giggy isn't over-rated imo. And we won't know about HoF status and such until WAY later. What I do see know is that he makes the saves. If he threw himself on the ground for every save would that make him spectacular? Because pretty much that's what Hasek does. Hasek embelishes tons of saves to make them look more daring and desperate than they are...but does that make him a better goalie? No. Does he keep the puck out? Usually. Well, so does Giggy. He has a great D in front of him, but so do we. It doesn't diminish his ability. Last time he was in the finals he pretty much drug his team there...so I don't believe that he is over-rated any more than Hasek is.

I agree about Calds...he could really do something here despite a mediocre playoff performance. I think Babs just doesn't like him for whatever reason...cuz he sure didn't have problems playing other players who were underperforming...if he wanted to...until they started performing. But then sits others...

That is *so* good news...but I don't want to get my hopes up too much, you know. I want him to 'do some damage' as well, here, though!

Why would we want 2 #1 goalies. We already have 2 #1 goalies...so now we will just have 2 #1's that cost like $8 million dollars... Especially for the price...Hasek is the best shot we got...hopefully he doesn't retire

Maybe I don't understand the question...but I'd say Huddles. Way exceeded expectations in the regular season if you ask me. He didn't do bad in the playoffs either for the little ice time he got...though, honestly, he should have gotten more. In the playoffs...Lilja. I dunno...all the other players were good, but I don't remember thinking strongly that they needed to improve.
