Ha ha, choose wisely when picking your game. Can you even imagine spending $500 for a ticket where the Wings didn't even score a goal...and were beaten badly. Oh yes, we all picture winning, raising the Cup, etc...but what about all the other games...some are good, some are bad...and the bad ones are painful. We can also afford 1 or 2 games. But the problem is definitely consistancy...couldn't afford the $5000 to buy the whole playoffs at our season ticket prices. The Wings didn't get far enough last year to know how it would've gone. I think that it's gotten a lot worse in the last year. Auto industry is taking it's toll on the economy. Only the medical indstustry is truly doing well here. If the auto workers don't put money into the economy all businesses suffer. Restarants, shopping plazas, sporting events, etc. No money there. It's just taking its toll. I definitely think the Pistons and the Tigers are also a factor in that reguard. Detroit is also Tiger town and it's a lot cheaper to go to a Tiger game right now for a family...

Can't know about the Tigs until the playoffs, but I think that the Pistons and Wings will probably both make the finals based on prior play...don't like to jinx us though.

I think the biggest thing is $$$. If he's willing to take less I know the Wing's org will realize that he's come off a big injury and be willing to give him a shot...if it fits in their budget. I saw more Bert jersies in his first playing week at the Joe than I've ever seen of a newbie player who might not even sign. The Wings will take this into consideration. People like Bert and his size...that will factor in.

BUT continuing to raise taxes is not helping ANYONE. Businesses are leaving. People can't afford to live... I feel that this thread will be moved to the political forum now...ha ha. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are so sorry that we've offended Red Wing fans from other states who can afford to go to the games. We will no longer whine about prices of the tickets. We should just bend over and take whatever is thrown at us like good little fans - in the future. We can't afford to buy tickets and your argument was sort of...well I'm spending this $2000 some dollars to see the Wings and losing all this money. You make more in one day than I make in a week, ...probably a lot of us, so don't expect us to console you *too* hard. I think you have the money to lose, in other words. We don't. Hey, I'd love to get OT and such, but it's not in the cards right now. And it's a myth that hard work = more pay. You might work your ass off, but so do I, at about 3 jobs to be able to support me and my family, and I don't even make near what you make, so don't act like whe are just suffereing because we are slackers

Oh come on. Lang's goal was 100%, definitely the most important goal of the playoffs thus far. Definely the turning point. Lang doesn't score...30 seconds later we will not recover to win the round.

How can we be underdogs? They have that saying...everyone roots for the underdogs...but no one roots for us...everyone hates us. On a side note...we need to get some provinces in there so Ottawa can get a vote or 2....

We *have* Bert. I'd work on getting him first. It's easier to get somene who's on your team rather than working on random other players...

Take it seriously. I never said he was the second coming, but the Blues aren't that good, and he did okay on the team. His reg. season sv % is comparable to Hasek's, and 5 SO's isn't too shabby. He started slow, but I remember that before he got injured he was doing pretty well.

Dom has been iffy at times, but remember so has Lidstrom. I'm just going to watch the next two rounds to see what goes down. Lidstrom, over all, has been the most consistantly best player.

Nosebleeds will probably sell out, but next best will be around $500-$600 a pair. Not including parking and stuff. But a $9 beer is a drop in the bucket at that point My point was really that you can do that like once, maybe twice, but then it starts getting really costly. We've dropped money in the first 2 rounds, but now that it's getting really exciting we can't afford it anymore...I'm sad People who are NOT at the games (for WHATEVER reason) who whine about other people who are not at the games are totally dead to me.

I think that's what no one's getting...in regards to your post FUUFNF....is that you would jumpt at a chance to go to a game. So you get a seat in the lowers for the finals with your husband/wife/friend.... Now that you've exhausted that $1000 can you go to game 2?? That's the problem.

If you make $460 a day then honestly, you have no room in this conversation...you are not living in the same reality as the rest of us... Tix are available..put your money where your mouth is and go to a game. AS A SIDENOTE: The nosebleed seats are selling out...it's the uppers right before the nosebleeds that aren't. Because who wants to spend nearly $200 a seat to sit in obstructed view...and you might go to a game (ala game 1 round 2) and the team might LOSE...not even score a goal. Buy, buy $500....

I am SOOOOOOO sick of this topic! If you are concerned...fine... If you are bitching about attendance...piss off... You know what perfect attendance gets you? Raised ticket prices whether your team does good or bad...ask the Leafs fans. I don't care if the Wings win the next 3 consecutive Cups...people have gotta step up and say enough...which I know wouldn't happen if the economy was better. Red Wing fan-ness should not be based on shelling out money akin to a car payment for 3 hours of entertainment. If you can, fine, if you can't...you shouldn't have to feel ashamed about it or *a bad fan*. Just my 2 cents.

Ozzie is backup because he chooses to stay here. He could definitely step up and take the load if needed. I'd like to see him in tandem with our youngins if Dom retires. In tandem with Dom if he stays.
