I actually don't hate the shootouts in the regular season, although I wouldn't be necessarily sad to see them go. They are exciting enough, and ties are boring. On the other hand, you should never get a point for losing, in my opinion...even if you do get to OT. That's what makes me more angry than the shootout. Keep the shootout or get rid of it, but we should not reward losing in any form with a point...no thanks.

Nearly all of those seemed like they would make no positive impact on the game. Some of them just seem wacky. The whole OT thing just seems bizarre, and I think our OT is already messed up as it is. How would it benefit anyone to start at a whistle as opposed to a puck drop. As many others have stated, none of this does a lick of good with the officiating being so bad when it matters most.

Oh, this mindset is EXACTLY one of the things that is wrong with the world. Entitlement bull-crap society that we live in where so many think they don't have to work hard. So sick of people rewarding mediocrity and laziness. Even if it was unfair - life is unfair. People want to blame someone for everything, instead of just pointing the finger at themselves OR realizing that sometimes crap happens and deal with it.

I was thinking about Cicarelli the other day and I, also, will never forget what he said there. I really was sad when he retired after that season. That season was one of the greats. People who didn't watch then do not realize how amazing the 1996 season was because we didn't win a Cup...but we should have. That season was so bitter sweet. We have so many injuries after our 7 game stint with the Blues and then the dirty Avs just took their toll on us, unfortunately. Spawned a pretty heated rivalry for a few years though.

Does anyone watch America's Got Talent? I started watching it as a way to get through the summer, but I really love the top 10! I only think a couple of others should have gotten in. Is anyone else watching the final tonight? I want Michael Grimm to win, though I like the other acts. If Michael Grasso was still in I would maybe root for him, too.
