So you've managed to pin all the blame on Hartnell and Tootoo, at one point saying that it was 2 preds on 1 shark and acting like the Sharks are choir boys while the preds are nothing but goons and you accuse me of being the one who spins things and looks stupid. I really wouldn't even respond to your posts if they weren't so amusing.

holy crap gordie... you're alleging that Preds fans are spinning the story and then you go and spew out that epic piece of garbage. BRAVO! as much as you accuse others of being Preds homers, you're anti-pred bias is equal or greater. And if you're so sick of the Preds, then why have you started so many threads about them in the last week?

Before his suspension, I would have said that the team is much better with Tootoo on the roster. He was drawing a lot of penalties, creating a lot of energy, getting the other team off their game and despite what his stats say, did contribute on the offensive side. There was a reason that he was on the ice more often over Hordichuk who is a better enforcer. But ever since he came back from suspension, he's been a marked man by the officials. Any little thing he does is going to be called a penalty. It's getting to the point where i'm not sure that he's worth the roster space anymore. I know Hordichuk will be in the lineup tonight, so keep an eye on his game. Maybe you can see the differences between Darcy and Jordin and see which one you think would be better to play that role.

there's no defense for the Tennessean. Their coverage just plain stinks. Most preds fans refer to it as "The Titansean" because of their overall treatment of the two teams since they've been in town. I'll have to give them one thing though, bad homerish reporting is more than the non-existant reporting we used to get. The Tennessean is a good ole boy company, and I don't expect them to ever come up with any kind of decent coverage for the Predators. Most of the reliable reporting is done by fans on our message board who have inside connections. There are also two fan sites, predzone and prednation. one is pretty lousy while the other is okay, can't remember which is which since I never visit them.

got caught up in laundry and housecleaning last night and forgot to update my weight. First thing when I get home from work tonight i'll post it. Also coming down with a little bit of a cold, though I don't believe that's a bad thing for trying to lose weight lol

i don't take your opinion personal. but I will use your response as an example of why I am always on here defending these guys. You say "All the cheap s*** in the last two games and all regular season"... There have been 84 games played by the preds this season, in 4 of those has there been something controversial. 1. Scott Nichol sucker punch on Spacek 2. Tootoo sucker punch on Robidas 3. Hartnell knee-to-knee on Cheechoo 4. Radulov hit from behind on Bernier but 80 games with nothing at all. and 19 other players on the roster with nothing questionable. So you can see why it's irritating that people form their opinion of a team from just a few isolated incidents. And I realize that's what you're saying in your post, but most people don't take time to think about or admit to the realities that you do.

i'll update tonight. I plan on doing an update every sunday. I'm hoping for good results when I weigh myself tonight. I feel really good. I've been drinking a lot of water, walking and climbing a lot of stairs (not by choice )

hate the mudbugs. my sister lived across the street from DCC and was a season ticket holder during the championship seasons so I was able to go to a lot of games when I visited. those were some good years!

One game is pretty much what I expected. He has no prior history and the hit wasn't particularly vicious. But for anyone thinking that the Preds are toast in game 3 without Rads, remember that he was ejected fairly early last night and we still whipped them. People said from the beginning that the Preds couldn't hang physically with the sharks, but we've actually outmuscled them IMO. Big Joe has been invisible and their huge defense hasn't slowed down our offensive attack one bit.

hey firecaptain, never noticed that you were from Memphis. Do you get to many Riverkings games? show me where i've acted like these guys never did anything wrong? I've always said they were wrong for doing whatever they did, my whole point has always been that the things haven't been as bad as everyone here makes them out to be. Posts on here basically call for these guys to go before the firing squad and a lot of accusations are made against their character from fans 600 miles away who have never seen these guys away from the ice or heard them speak away from the rink.

I'm sure he would bench him in an instant... if he weren't a 25 goal guy and the only player on the team who can stand in front of the net and re-direct shots. Arnott could do it, but he's a little more useful playing around the net and using his slapper. I've thought about that too. With Smyth gone, Edmonton has a need for a power forward and Hartnell would only cost about half as much.

yeah it would have been. Thats why Radulov will probably sit, because Bernier likely will miss time.

I hope there's a Wings-Preds series as well. and for anyone who says that it's not a rivalry, you might want to count the number of threads on the first page dedicated to the preds. All in the middle of your own playoff series with calgary I might add.

love your avatar, but lets be serious. What in his history, other than the hit last night, would make you have such an opinion on Radulov? You're way out of line on that one.

like I said, watching the actual events with an objective eye and not based on reputation is how to determine what actually happened, not just words on a scoresheet... No Suspension for Hartnell the misconducts were unwarranted. On ice refs were overruled after review.

I hope so too, if it means the preds keep wining 5-2 every night. You could tell all night that the sharks were just out looking for revenge. They got their road win in game one, and the pressure was off last night, so they could afford a little vengeance. Monday night is going to be interesting to see how the teams approach it, Sharks win and the Preds are stuck in a hole again which would be demoralizing. Preds win and their momentum just keeps building. Can't wait!! How do you get Arnott into that group? I agree that the others have a reputation for one thing or the other, but Arnott??

haven't really read any of that stuff lately. there really isn't much Bert discussion at all, and when we talk about Chelios it's usually based on his whining to the officials and you have to admit that nobody yaps at the officials as much as Chelios. But I think a lot of people on the Preds boards respect chelios as a player and wish that everyone on our defense could be half the player that chelios has been.

absolutely Detroit is a very clean team. But like you said, I overstate my points. on the flip side a lot of people here overstate their points when they are trying to tear down another team. So it's all fair.

trotz and hartnell are known to have never gotten along. there were rumors last season that we were about to trade Hartnell (when we sent the first for Witt). And Trotz has never shied away from calling out Hartnell for boneheaded plays. The feeling right now is that these playoffs are do-or-die time for Trotz. Win a series and he'll probably keep his job, go out in the first round again and it's questionable. Then we have the issue of Hartnell being a UFA this summer, so most believe that it depends on what happens to Trotz. if he gets fired, then there's a chance we re-sign Hartnell. If Trotz is not fired, then it becomes very unlikely that we try to re-sign hartnell.

I think most of that is in reponse to so many people talking about how small and weak the preds are, how they can't hang with teams like Dallas, Calgary and San Jose in the physical department. It's more of like, "well, if they want to push us around we'll be here for it and we don't have any problems pushing back". it just gets old listening to a lot of the responses on here. People see Bertuzzi or Calder running over a goalie and it's great, it's just hard nosed hockey, crashing the net and it's applauded and accepted because it's something that detroit fans haven't been used to the past few seasons. And the current hot topic, Markov jumping into a pile. If it had been a flames player, everyone would be talking about how dirty that guy was for jumping in. It's the double standard that gets me.

what about everything else he said? and how adamant the sharks were about Hartnell's elbow knocking out cheechoo's tooth, show me one replay that shows Hartnell's elbow coming up? he didn't get cheechoo in the head at all, he lost the tooth when he hit the ice.

thats what i'm saying, it's a shame that they have reputations. It's not something I want for them, but it's the truth. However, people shouldn't let past actions cloud their judgement on every single incident after that.

how come certain people like Turretin are able to respond to a post and argue a point without being crazy about it? Disagrees with my assessment of Forsberg's diving call, but doesn't have to go over the top criticizing me, the preds or other preds fans. I can take that all day long.

oh man... it just gets more and more ridiculous around here every day. Apparantly everyone here missed the fact that Cheechoo was supposed to be so injured that he wouldn't play anymore in the playoffs... and then he doesn't even miss a game. And Radulov has never had anything close to a dirty play. Who actually saw the hit? he barely hit him, bernier's head hit the boards though and that's where the damage was done. Bernier did skate off with some help though (same way the supposedly crippled cheechoo did). As for "the sharks are going to get their revenge, come after kariya, blabla" anyone saying that kind of stuff didn't watch last night. They were cheapshotting kariya up and down the ice. One guy grabbed weber's jersey on the back of his neck and pulled him down like that (well after the play was over, similar to a horsecollar tackle in football). And then when it was obvious they weren't going to win with 1:00 left, the goon squad came out to start s***. The diving call on Forsberg last night and Nichol on wednesday, i'm guess no one here saw what BS those calls were. And the calls against Tootoo now are getting way out of hand, since he came back from suspension he can't even look at a guy wrong without getting a penalty. Now, i'll agree if someone wants to argue that Hartnell, Nichol, Tootoo and Forsberg's reputation get them into more trouble than they deserve. But just because a guy gets his name on the scoresheet for a penalty doesn't always reflect what actually happened on the ice.
