I'll be there, again. And truthfully, I haven't thought about this game much. It's obviously a huge game, but I don't have any kind of feeling on how it will go. I'm more concerned about staying healthy and getting our injured players back for the playoffs. That said, I think this is the division on the line tonight. Wings win, they have more points AND a game in hand with a much easier schedule. Preds win, they're 4 points up and have the first tie-breaker which should be impossible for the wings to overcome in only 5 games. I'm just not feeling the frenzy today. It doesn't feel like game day, let alone a HUGE game day. So who knows, maybe something special will happen tonight. No Prediction. Good luck to the wings, and hopefully it's an entertaining game for both sides to watch with plenty to talk about for the next several days.

Didn't the Russians refuse to come back on the ice after intermission when they played the Flyers? Case closed.
-
neither one is close to their prime anymore. I'd take Laraque if I had to have one, Brashear has been a shadow of himself for a few years now.
-
Nichol, Hartnell and Sullivan are all very close to coming back (in that order) and even Erat should be back for the playoffs. At the very least, I think all these guys play @ colorado.
-
sure, but we've already established on these boards that the preds are a dirty cheap shot team. So it shouldn't surprise anyone to see that.
-
Chelios and Shanahan were so pissed at Adam Hall all night. Pretty classy of Chelios to jump hall from behind right after he scored a goal too.

how did this thread turn into peaceful hockey discussion? that is NOT what message boards were intended for.

There are also 5-6 roller rinks around nashville too. I played in the adult league for 3 seasons, but they just let us play as a courtesy, the focus was really on the youth leagues which are still alive and doing well. Aside from the high school ice teams, there is also a high school roller league. and yeah monkey, I thikn MTSU was ranked #1 in Division 3 for a while a couple years ago, I haven't really followed them lately though so I wouldn't know. Also, there are minor league alternates. The Huntsville Havoc and Knoxville Ice Bears are in the SPHL, as well as the Memphis Riverkings in the CHL. There's also been a lot of talk about expanding the CHL into Lebanon, TN if they build an arena there. Also, not known to most outside of the area, there has also been hockey in Nashville since 1961. The Dixie Flyers, South Stars, Knights, Knighthawks and Ice Flyers were all minor league teams in town before the Preds came.

I do believe that he bit Wright. But it was never proven.

yeah... he's so much dirtier than any other player, he's so far beyond what other players are willing to do. The league must have a close eye on him. That is, during the few games he gets to play between suspensions. Because I mean, No one else even comes close to the dirty stuff that Tootoo pulls that he must be suspended a lot. Matter of fact, lets find a list of all the times that he's been suspended for dirty play, cheap shots, sucker punches, etc (be warned, take up a comfy chair because there will be a lot of reading to follow). Okay, the list: 19-Mar-07: Suspended by the NHL for 5 games.

sorry, I live in the south. Grammar has no place here. There isn't enough time in the day between chewing tabaccy, sleeping with my sister, chroming out my tractor and deep frying every piece of food in the kitchen (well actually, we keep our fridge on the front porch) that makes Williams stats even worse doesn't it?
-
btw. if you want to know where i'm coming from. I hated Tootoo when he first started playing with us. So i've been there. I didn't want him on the team. But as someone who watches him game after game (unlike almost anyone here i'd reckon) he's slowly become one of my more liked players in Nashville. And it is because I took the time watch his game (trying to prove my own thoughts that he didn't belong) and over time I realized just how effective and valuable he was. Now I really enjoy watching him play his game.

did you read what I said? LAST SEASON, he played TWO WEEKS on a scoring line. notice that he posted 10 points in only 34 games. At that rate this season he'd have 20-25 points. Read further and I said he would be good on a THIRD LINE. 20-25 points. thats along the same lines as Hudler, Draper, Franzen, Williams. Are you going to rip these guys for their awesome stats? as for his stats this season... again, READ. I think I said he's playing a 4th line agitator role. Not exactly the position to be scoring from. You sit here and talk about how i've been "owned" and how I must not know anything about hockey, and then make jokes to say that he's not a valuable asset to the Preds. How funny...

I said I wouldn't post again, but unfortunately there's morons like you. Go find any fan of the Brandon Wheat Kings to see if Tootoo was popular when he played a "clean" game. He can EASILY change if he's put in the right position. As of now he's playing a 4th line agitator role and excelling at it. for a few weeks last season, due to injuries, he was bumped up to the top line playing with Kariya. Nothing dirty or anything, he played a scoring role and actually did well. I think he he were on a team that rolled 3 scoring lines, and he was put on the third line and told "score, don't agitate" then he would be able to do it in a heartbeat and enjoy the heck out of it. Everyone saying how out of control he is, obviously hasn't been paying attention for the last 3 years, because he has consistantly improved his game since he came into the league. He is a smarter player, he's taking fewer penalties, picking his spots better and drawing a lot more penalties. So anyone saying his play hurts the team doesn't have a clue because he puts us on the power play a lot more than the penalty kill. And I LOL at the people saying "he'll be out of the league in 5 years" to say that he's not good enough to stick around. if he lasts another 5 years, that'll be 8 seasons. Do you know how many players don't last 8 seasons? Sorry if people think i'm being a homer, but i'm just telling it like I see it.

people actually think that "Live it up" is decent? wow. I think it's pretty horrible.
-
Servo has the correct answer here. Tootoo's biggest repeat offense is charging. Anyway, we just had like a 12 page thread on this topic. I've tried to explain why Tootoo is more than just scum of the earth, and clearly this board is never going to listen to anything of the sort. So expect this to be my one and only post in here.

Good news... Preds have the Oilers again on tuesday!
-
I think he was down on the ice for too long for that little bit of contact, I did suspect that maybe he bit his lip to make it bleed, because it looked to me that the blade got him on his cheek. maybe it's just me though
-
his stick was above his shoulders. they were both falling, and yeah, it was just unfortunate that the blade caught his face. once it happens though, there's no way for the ref to not call it.
-
it was clearly unintentional. Heck, Bertuzzi didn't even see the guy until the last second. But that doesn't change the outcome of it. sometimes you fart and a little bit of poop comes out, just because you didn't mean to do it doesn't mean that you don't have to clean it up.

3/24 GDT: St. Louis Blues @ Red Wings, 2:00 PM ET

looking at the final shot total, it's easy to see that it was a very frustrating game for wings fans. nothing quite like watching a game that you SHOULD be totally dominating and having the opposing goalie play out of his mind to equal everything out. I feel for you guys, but I'm not going to be too upset with it... you know. -

WOW. surprising no goal. I thought for sure they'd count it. But again, the right pad barely moved and that's where the puck was sitting. Tough call. -

weird shootout. Weight's was a clear goal. I think Cleary scored but it's a little closer. I think they count it. It's hard to tell, his left leg moves up definitely, but his right leg barely moved. I'd hate to be the one making these decisions. -

Do the Blues announcers know the rules? The play by play guy goes "50 seconds left in the penalty... and detroit ices it"
