Not only do i think he has man love for bert, but i think, and i'm being serious, that some of the reason that has to do with him signing schneids and bert from us is because he absolutely hates us. It dates back in 2002 when he whined, bitched and moaned about the red wings being dirty. The he hated us even more when we took babcock from him. But now that he beat us in the CF and won the cup, he's so arrogant he probably feels untouchable and went and signed our leftovers. In a perfect world, Selanne comes back for another season but signs with the wings and scores the OT series winning goal on a Scneider give away in front of the net.

So, I know that some jackass reporter from colorado published a book and in that book he wrote down what was being said that infamous night where Bowman squared off against crawfag. I have no idea how to find the book, nor would I ever purchase it because just like our governments drug campaign says, I dont wanna donate money to terrorist. So I was wondering if anyone here had any info on what was being said or any other details worth sharing. Just bored and thought i'd ask.

I dunno, sure seems like it by their retort. Yet to express their offensiveness, he called the guy a retarted 12 year old. Now, i'm willing to be that someone on these boards has a retarted 12 year old brother or sister, or cousin or even daughter or son. Now you've probably just offended them. Now, if you do know a retarted 12 year old......how do you respond? do you call this board member ***, or maybe find out what nationality he is and give him a racial remark? When I first heard about the book (it was actually on these forums) it wasn't actually out to the public yet so I've had no idea how well it was actually writtin.

Ya i get what your saying, a bit ironoic it is. Though I wasn't the one who was asking no one to swear. In fact, i'm a little peeved anyone really cares at all. god i wish everyone would get their heads out of their ass when talking about legace and the edmonton series. People seem to forget, or wish to just turn their heads to the fact that we just got outplayed against edmonton. They out worked us, out played us. plain and simple. Nobody showed up to play that series. Need we forget that until this year, Datsyuk was pegged as a no show for playoffs? Now I never jumped on Datsyuk for that, but everyone else around here sure did. And I can safely assume that if Legace was given another year, chances are he would have done well, since he did consistently well in the regular season, and everyone here would shut their yaps about how legace is the worst thing the world has seen since pimento loaf.

regardless if you like hull or not, you have to appreciate what he can contribute to the game. He's the type of broadcaster that will attract new viewers. Casual fans will appreciate him, and respect him. The same goes for Don Cherry. We need him presenting our game when and if the nhl ever gets a shot at the lime light again. We dont want assholes like barry melrose being the face of our league to help further stereotypes that the nhl is for white hicks with greasy mullets. And we don't want a little weasel like darren pang being the face either to make it seem like the nhl is for pussys. we need tough, hardened old men with a chip on their shoulder to make the game more interesting, more appealing, and more respectful along with a vast knowledge for the game (and by the game i dont mean catering to betman).

a fight school isnt as bad as it sounds. When i was about 15, i started taking boxing classes for that very reason. However i knew the difference between appropriate times to fight and when youre just being a goon. A lot of kids dont know the difference.

My how opinions have changed. I guess I cant say anyone who's already responded has changed their opinions, because i just dont know....but one thing i do know is that if this question was asked last season, or any other seaosn for that matter, it would be 90% people saying he is absolutely worthless and too much of a prick to ever want him back on the Wings. Then he goes to NY and actually shows people what kind of an impact he can make and everyone is singing his praises. Not that I can disagree, I've been on this guys bandwagon ever since his first day on the ice and haven't hopped off once. Glad to see people are coming around.

Chelios apologized for not shaking hands, and gave a legit reason as to why he didnt. It wasn't out of disrespect, just that he was too emotional. He said he'd go back and shake their hands no problem. And i might be able to give you some information about leagues in your area, but i dont know what the NWO is.

hey now, don't let a couple isolated instances spoil the name. Trust me, this is coming from a guy who plays Michigan State Rugby as well, where Rugby is coined as THE gentlemans game. Now, in rugby i've never seen more dirty plays go on in my life....yet we all still consider it a gentlemans game. Why? because for over an hour we let our emotions run wild to achieve our ultimate goal, but when its all said and done, we shake each others hands and have a beer with the guy whos skull we just stomped on.

Some of the stuff said in the video pisses me off. Not cus their full of crap, but because thats really how people feel. I really hope the immaturity of all these football players and basketball players wake some people up. Hockey players are some of the most mature, intelligent and gifted athletes around. Their sport requires them to be so. And hey, Keyshawn may think that no kid says they want to be a hockey player, where hes from ya....i'm pretty sure no black kid wants to be a hockey player. But sooner or later people are gonna get sick of this "hip-hop thug" mentality and pay attention to a gentlemans sport.

A valid point indeed, however I must contest in some areas. I dont think that a decent showing in the playoffs merits Lilja a spot over Lebda by any means. We've all seen players perform well through stretches but not even have a career the next season. Im thrilled Lils played well in the playoffs....but lets see what he can do CONSISTENTLY before slating him as a rock. Since day one lilja was the whipping boy around here until recently. I suspect that he has the ability to change everyones perspective again just as quickly. Lebda has been consistent for some time now. He may not have put up all star numbers yet, but he's never really had a question mark floating above his head either. So really the point of debate is, what do the wings need right now? And ya know, I dont think there is a right answer to that. A lot of things have to happen in order for the wings to be unsuccessful. This decision will not make or break that. However, IMO, it has been Detroits speed on the blue line, and its quick transitioning and outlet pass that has put our defense as tops in the league year after year. We've thrived with players like Coffey and Murphy, Lidstrom, Schneider, etc. and have been complimented well throughout the years with a couple Defensive Defenseman i.e. Vladdy, Chelios. The wings have always been a puck moving defense (at least in the successful era). If we want to overload our defense with big men all over like Lilja and Quincy.....then ya, we'll still win hockey games. But we mine as well stick a flaming C on our chest and move to Calgary, because thats all we'll ever amount to.

I think you're asking the wrong question here. You should be asking, Lilja or Quincy? Lebda and Quincy bring two different elements to the game. It's not so much a question of who is better, but what element does the team need right now. With the absence of Scneider, Lebda's role on the team has never been more increasingly important. Sure, we signed Rafalski....and i'm stoked about that, but rafalski is more of an all-around defenseman. He doesn't bring the pure speed that Lebda does. I mean, Lebda is an f'in rocket on skates. If i'm not mistaken, I think he has even taken a few shifts as a forward. He kind of reminds me of the speedy and versatile Dandenault back in the day. Quincy offers about the same thing Lilja does. And seeing as how Lilja doesn't have a GUARANTEED spot, I think its his position to lose. I for one would like to see Quincy fight for that spot, maybe split some games before deciding who wins the spot in time for the playoffs. I know Lils was impressive for most parts of the playoffs, but his giveaways have never been so costly. If you forget, it was Lilja too who was responsible for the goal that the oilers scored that tied the eliminating game sending it to overtime that eventually lead to our demise. I forgive easily, but I don't forget. Lets just hope both develope vastly so it will be near impossible to tell who is better.

I mean, i'm not jumping up and down for the idea.....but past history has shown me not to count a move like this out. Hell, even if he is injury prone, 80% of the board here was praying every night the red wings would resign bertuzzi. Now bert probably has a more apparent upside....but you know Lindros isnt going to command a 4 mil dollar a year salary which helps the team on a whole new level. Not to mention he never broke anyone neck. What suprises me is that it says the red wings arent interested in Peca.....not that I care if we get him or not, but it seems like he could fit into our system well enough and it seems like they arent sold on rex filling in a constant spot on our roster yet either. If the red wings sign lindros to a relatively cheap contract, I *could* see it being a signing that most people are bitter about until around November when he comes out of the wood-works and starts winning the fans over and have us all praising Holland again for finding such remarkable deals all up until next years off-season when the red wings weren't able to sign Iginla for 3.5 mil a year eventhough he just renewed his contract with the flames.

JR needs to become the face of the NHL in america. He needs to bring the game to the people along with Hull....and god I could only hope Cherry gets smuggled to the US. Those guys are knowledgable, entertaining and are the stereotypical hockey players that we need to showcase in order to appeal to todays market.
