i would trade Z, a pick and a prospect in a second for lecavalier. i had no idea that he was only 27. so...apart from being a little sad about missing the highlight reel goals id trade the same package with datsyuk also. but i suppose vinny can uh...provide those highlight reel goals also.

i didnt say holland would do it, all im saying is this trade would make sense for the other teams GMs. i mean....you cant honestly believe that atlanta would take hudler, meech, and a 2nd for hossa, or something rediculous like that. itd take more like flip, hudler, 1st and 2nd for hossa.

that is the only trade that ive read in this thread that actually makes sense and may be accepted by the other teams. I like it, good call.

1. Russia - probably the most offensively skilled nation and most fun to watch 2. Sweden - Nik Lidstrom. 3. Slovakia 4. USA - i love the real top flight players the USA has produced. i.e rolston, cole. 5. Czech - also produces their share of talents, aside from jagr and langbang i cant relaly think of any czech that i absolutely despise. 6. Finland - Boring to watch, aside from fil i dont really like any of em 7. Canada - My hatred for Pronger, Neidermayer and Iginla single handedly puts them at 7, i absolutely despise them.

i like your ideas a lot. I think Blake is going to be healthy and would be an awesome addition for the playoffs. With cleary hurt and maybe not being in game shape come playoffs we definitely need another scorer. I would love sergei to come back but i think we might have to give up a bit more for him. maybe a 2nd and a higher prospect or someone like hudler. we definitely need some more grit, and sooner rather than later. It seems like datsyuk is getting roughed up more and more each game and we arent even in the playoffs yet. marty la-penalty seems like he may be a good fit, i cant really think of someone else that can bring some grit and at least a little scoring to the table off hand so ill have to agree with you on him also. :thumbup:

tsn scouts make it sound like he is a lot like schneider offensively but better in his own zone, i say forget schneider and pick him up. Assets: Plays a physical game and loves a heavy workload. Is extremely reliable in the defensive zone. Is a very smooth skater and excellent puck-handler. Possesses a hard, accurate shot from the point. Flaws: May not put up the points expected of him at the NHL level, unless he starts hitting the net with his shots more frequently. Career potential: No. 1 defenseman.

ill agree with you on that, but add niedermayer and getzlaf to that list, as well as may or whatever. i couldnt even count the number of times scotty tried to hack and whack datsyuk cause he got beat by him. and getslaf looks like hes trying to murder everyone.....constantly. im so glad he got bitched out by...fischer i think it was? last night.

its 5.5, but even 6.3 isnt unreasonable for sundin.

i know its kinda beside the point, but i think vanek would get A LOT more than 3.5 mil. more along the lines of 5 or so. i would love to see any of those 3 in a wings jersey, but i just dont see it happening. with the big contract we gave dats and the one lids already had....plus what were gonna have to give hank, we just wont have the money i dont think. but one of those three will most likely be gone next year in my opinion, theyre all gonna command top dollar, especially drury and briere

i think thats what playing against lidstrom and draper will do to you. that line along with any lids d pairing really does shut down the opposition

yeah didnt the NBA do sort of the same thing....yesterday i believe it was? they suspended stoudemire or whatever from the suns because he left the bench area. and i guess he is a very important part of that team. The league definitly needs to suspend pronger, he shouldnt get away with it just because he is an important player to the ducks team. thats just bs

the problem with ottawa is that they are getting most of their scoring from their first line. I believe that lidstrom and the draper line can do a pretty good job shutting them down. If we can put some pucks in the net i think it could be a pretty good series. im not putting the wings into the finals already. We have a hard road ahead of us before we even think about the finals.
