I was just looking at the free agent section of red wings central and it said that bootland and ellis played for toronto in the OHL in 03. I was wondering if the OHL is of....lesser quality than the AHL just for the reason that booter and ellis played in the OHL earlier in their careers. I also thought that crosby came out of the OHL too though. Is there any difference in the overall quality of talent in the two leagues or are they just two different leagues with generally the same talent level?

i think that eklund just reads multiple team forums and makes up rumors that way. Someone stated the exact same thing that eklund posted on this forum about a month ago. Everyone knows that dats would love to play with ovechkin. But is that worth winning 30-35 games a year for the rest of your career? i dont think it is. If Dats doesnt sign here im thinking he might sign with a team that actually has a chance to do something in the near future.

sammy, i think hudler stole his spot last night. Hudler plays harder and has a flat out better shot than Sammy.

just becuase his shot is harder doesnt mean that it is better. Lids can get the shots through to the goalie or to homer so he is able to tip them. Lately schneids is better at hitting the defender right in front of him with the puck than the goalie.

I would have no problem trading schneider. If i remember correctly there are a few teams looking for a puck moving defenseman at the deadline. Im sure he could fetch something decent in return. We have lidstrom to play quarterback on the powerplay, and thats all we need. Most teams are starting to take the point shots away as well. id say trade him now and get something for him rather than lose him for good.

why would he make this team worse? is it because his game has at least two major aspects that the collective red wings' game is lacking? his grit and size are very worth acquiring.

Tkachuk, while not being the better scorer of the two, is bigger and more "mean" which is something that we need to protect our littler guys down the stretch and in the playoffs, id say thats prolly why Esposito sees Tkachuk as a better fit. I think id personally like to see chuk more than guerin here, just because he can score and isnt afraid to drop the gloves.

the ATL one isnt right either. Hossa plays with Kozlov, I think rucchin centers Kovalchuk and Metropolit for the Hossa Kozlov line. Not sure about the centers though. right now theyre the best line in hockey centered by the best player in hockey (hank). But throughout the whole year or past years id say that Spezza and Heatley are pretty good together.

He is also a better scorer than draper is, though he is obviously a slower skater. yeah a hungry HEALTHY Hasek is sure good, but he isnt the best. Id take Brodeur, Luongo, and Kipper ahead of him for sure. I know his GAA is first or second in the league, but he is playing in front of the best defense in the league as well. EDIT: draper is the better defensive forward as well, but thats a given. I think that i would take Latendresse over Draper if i could choose, Latendresse is young and is only getting better. And OF COURSE Lids is better than Souray, he is better than every other d man in the league too, i didnt say that he wasnt.
