i was just about to post something about this i apologize ahead of time for the length of my rant but this is a topic that just gets under my skin. The economy obviously deserves a part of the blame about the attendance but here is the really reason gary bleeping betteman. I really hope he is watching he is killing hockey in detroit plain and simple. Now does he want more wings attendance on road games or when fans watch games in supposed hockeytown does he want the audience see all the empty seats. Its as obvious as a punch in the face that we need to be moved to the east who the hell wants to watch nashville, columbus and chicago 8x a year its ridiculous. The NHL needs to hire someone who actually knows the great sport and not a damn basketball guy. Hockey will never be basketball or football its a regional sport joe schmo is arizona wont give a damn about the coyotes. I love this game its my favorite sport and what betteman has done to this great game is criminial. Betteman needs to save face and resign its a disgrace that he is in charge of this great game. 2 lockouts in his tenure as commish, the nhl has fallen off the face of the earth. NBC has the sunday night game espn monday night. But i heard a rumor that playmakers was going to be on HBO but i dont believe it. After they took playmakers off the air basically the only good show on espn is Pardon the Interruption, and the Bronx is Burning was pretty good on tuesday. But yankeebadabing was right until this year when did sportscenter ever show arena football highlights? The answer is never maybe 10 seconds for the championship game but now espn is shoving arena football down our throats just like the redsox vs yankees series. Espn sucks

I think its because whoever makes the prices knows the wings jerseys will sell where as the brand new caps jerseys they wanna see how they sell first before they jack up the price. Also there is this website i forget what its called but it has a list of all the NHL jerseys from as far back as the 1920s and on a couple occasions i read that teams changed their minds about the jerseys at the last second so that could be another reason for the low price. I highly recommend checking out that website to all of you its a very good one.

Well done column by burnside although i disagree with just one point as detroit ian said and as all hockey fans know the last thing the nhl needs is expansion, with that said las vegas im not saying it would work but las vegas is a very interesting option, i was in vegas a couple months ago and i saw a lot of jerseys not just redwings and a couple people that i talked said they would love for the nhl to come there. Also as burnside said a franchise in Hamilton would be a hit, a franchise in KC on the other hand i doubt it because its pretty much chiefs country there.
