Im not picking Carolina in the east or anything, but i dont think Buffalo will make it either. I just think the Sabres having to face the team that defeated them in the 1st round could present a big challenge mentally. Thats the definitely their worst case scenario, as facing any of the other teams in the running for #8 will probably be a cake walk. Ive already wrote (in a permanent marker) New Jersey in the Finals. I really like Pittsburgh's forwards but i dont think they have enough on D or in net to make it all the way.

Horton would have to SERIOUSLY want out for that to happen. This is just a pipe dream, im not gonna have any emotional attachment to any Horton to Detroit scenario...i made that mistake last offseason with Lecavalier!

Heard this one today on 1270. Apparently the Broncos are interested in Bly and are offering either Jake Plummer, another guy who's name slips me (sorry, not a big name though), and Tatum Bell. Now the odds of Bly being traded are very high so i think this is definitely legit. Also this wouldnt be the first time the Broncos have traded a RB for a CB...as they can churn out a running game with anybody back there it seems. Would you take Bell for Bly or go for the best draft pick you can get? Which probably id guess, wouldnt be any better than a 3rd. I'd be all over the Bell trade, I know its tough to gauge Denver RB's as well as KC RBs, since like i said everyone seems to produce back there, but i dont think Bell is an Olandis Gary and is actually pretty good. Great insurance for Jones, and even if Jones is healthy, cant hurt to have both!

I think 4 years 48 mill is an excellent signing! I have no problem with it at all. We can get by without Rogers, Bondo just needs to pitch like the ace he's supposed to be this year. I'd much rather they go with Miller right now over Durbin...and i guess they dont feel very highly of Zach Miner.

I believe 100% the Lions are the #1 team in the state of Michigan. I rank it Lions, Tigers, Pistons, and Wings. But the actual city of Detroit i think may hold more Pistons fans than anything...especially in the male 18-25 demographic I mean if you walked the streets of Detroit and polled 100 random people, odds are you'll find more Pistons fans just because basketball is so huge in the black community.

That goes without saying. The actual city of Detroit is football and basketball dominant by far...hell you could probably even make a case for the Pistons being bigger than the Lions. I dont know about everyone else, but i took this debate as meaning the entire Detroit area including suburbs, or really the whole state of Michigan i guess you could say. Kwame likes the Wings? What guys are we talking about? Lilja? No he's not a good fighter, but given his size and the fact that has at least fought some in his career....he should be going at it occasionally. Im not saying he should be fighting all the heavies or anything, but stuff like turtling to Gauthier for example is unacceptable i think. I dont know anything about the television deals of each. Arent the Pistons on channel 20 or whatever too? The Wings soared in popularity because the Pistons and Tigers had become crap. Now that those two are back on the map, the original pecking order has returned.

and case in point...im drinking out of a Lions coffee cup right now! Detroit is without a doubt basketball over hockey though, one of the best ways to gauge it is how much coverage each gets on sports radio. They go with the most popular stuff.

This is true, i dont consider him really a fighter per se either. Just saying the reaction of most is that he's this guy who did this outstanding job of stepping up when in reality...he finally did something that he SHOULD be doing on occasion. I wouldnt necessarily agree with Hatcher's 10-12 fights a year, but half that is a pretty reasonable expectation. See Hatcher's post The 3 i could remember at the time i posted were Simon, Godard, and Corson...dont remember the Jovo one. But these are definitely some pretty tough customers. Kuznetsov got friggin' clocked and dropped by Low, dont know how that doesnt constitute being destroyed. The Detroit feed was focusing on the McCarty/Salvador fight at the time, but the STL feed showed it....he got smoked. Fischer got murdered by Scott Thornton, and did not beat Iginla or Bertuzzi. Mark THS' results look on the mark from what i recall.

Lilja has fought before, and against some pretty stiff competition actually tougher than Moen...its not like this is some guy who came completely out of nowhere with a fight like say, Kronwall for example. Im happy Lilja fought, but some of us have the "ITS ABOUT TIME!" reaction more so than the "WAY TO GO LILJA!!" reaction is all...

I cant say Anaheim is the toughest ever, but as far as pure abundance of guys willing to throw down...theres not many that can top them. The guys that wont drop the gloves are few and far between on this team. They shouldnt have traded O'Brien though..
