Even the 2 players I promoted acquiring during deadline time, Eager and Fedoruk, ended up on the IR. Here's my current projection: 1) Oakland -WR Calvin Johnson (Moss will be dealt prior to draft is my thinking here..) 2) Arizona - OT Joe Thomas (acquired from Det for 2nd rd pick) 3) Cleveland - QB Brady Quinn 4) Tampa Bay - DE Jamaal Anderson 5) Buffalo - RB Adrian Peterson (acquired from Det for 2nd rd pick +, in an effort to leapfrog Houston) 6)Washington - DE Gaines Adams 7) Minnesota - QB Jamarcus Russell (Daunte clone?) 8)Atlanta - S Laron Landry 9)Miami - DT Alan Branch 10) Houston -OT Levi Brown 11) San Francisco - LB Patrick Willis 12) Detroit - CB Leon Hall I know its not this easy but if this were to happen the Lions would have 3 second round picks, and address a big need with their first pick. They could then have the ability to move up via trade into the first for their second selection...or package a couple of their newly acquired later 5th rd picks with their 3rd to move up into the late 2nd round (which would give them 4 second rounders!)

If I had to bet right now, I'd say the Lions will be trading down once, possibly even twice if possible down to the 10-13 range and taking CB Leon Hall. Best case scenario is Arizona offers them a 2nd to move up to #2 to get their guy Thomas, then someone else makes an offer for the #5 since this is still too high for Hall. This makes alot of sense i think. They signed Travis Fisher but theres no way they can think he addresses the need there....they still have a gaping hole. If they had gotten a legit #1 CB then i'd say maybe roll the dice with a Stanley Wilson or Keith Smith for your #2 and hope for the best. But not with Travis Fisher as your best corner. Hall is the most logical direction at this point. The Calvin Johnson/Brady Quinn stuff is all a smoke screen.

I told people a few years ago there would be a 3 step plan to eliminate fighting. If either of these happens, its on the way out. First, fighting would be an automatic major - misconduct (5 and 10). The following season, it will emcompany an automatic game misconduct. That would be the final season with fighting as it would completely banned the year after that.

Fedoruk's concussion is worse than i thought. Someone attend to him...stat! Well, I think its stupid but in reality im happy to hear any kind of alternative to a ban...

You know what i cant stand? When the little panzies in the media, who DONT watch hockey to begin with mind you, always bring up the Olympics and how great the games are. What a dumbass argument! Ok, well then you better cut the league down to about 6 teams so every team will be allstar caliber like the ones in the Olympics are. Oh, and of course being that every game in the Olympics is pretty much do or die might have something to do with the caliber of play you think? So cut the teams down to 6, make the regular season 10 games....and you're in business! Olympic hockey in the NHL!! Im right with you. Thats the key, they wont gain ANY fans by doing this....the only things to happen will be negative.

God bless Fedoruk! He has a knack for leading with his face though... lol. He doesnt know when to fight more defensively and cautiously though against the serious power punchers, its no coincidence that his 3 big injuries have come from Cairns, Boogaard, and now Orr. The 3 biggest punchers around bar none. He just fights the same no matter who it is, which isnt really smart..

My expectation of him just came from stuff i read on the board. I was expecting more of an in your face aggressive player who hit often, and yes occasionally, would throw down. Just wasnt the type of player i thought he was i guess...i blame the board

This is an age old line that i always find comical. It holds no water at all in this case. How the heck are they even just by the Leafs winning the game? The loss of 2pts isnt exactly ruining the Devils season at this point! Violence is the only way. Ott will get spanked by Tootoo. Barch is the only guy...that fights pretty much a toss-up.

I kinda go back and forth as to who's #1 between Howe and Lemieux. As far as ability, theres no question its Mario. But the fact that Howe was more complete in that he brought a physical game makes me lean towards Gordie. But Gretzky is definitely #3 i think as well.
