He played 600 more games! Mario came pretty close to averaging 2 pts a game over his career...thats SICK. Lemieux was better than Gretzky imo. And im certainly not knocking Yzerman before anyone throws a hissy fit...theres nothing wrong with saying he's 5th best all time!

Sorry, but arguing that Yzerman is the greatest of all time is pretty crazy. You'd have to be a homer of mega proportions to try and make a case for that. #5 behind Howe, Lemieux, Gretzky, and Orr makes alot more sense to me!

NFL shows can function year-round. Many people, including myself, never really get out of football mode when the season ends. I immediately move on to thinking about the NFL draft...football talk never gets old and thats why they continue to air it. Lets be real here, like it or not more people are interested in seeing how many pounds of spaghetti Kobayashi can eat than they are about hockey. Just the way it is....cant really blame ESPN. I actually agree with this. Ive been a proponent of Calgary in the past, but theres something thats not the same about the team this year. I still would rank them 3rd behind Anaheim and San Jose in terms of playoff threats, but i dont like them as much as i have in years past.

Signing Datsyuk prior to the playoffs defies logic. For those saying it would save the Wings money if he plays big in the playoffs, just how much do you think it will save? He's probably gonna end up getting somewhere between 5.5 - 6.0 million regardless of whether he signs now or later. He wont sign for some drastic bargain rate just because its pre-playoffs...its not gonna happen. Why not wait...its too risky locking up top dollars on him if he's gonna be a no show every year.

I'd like you to prove to me that he's proved it before. The few times he has actually fought on the Wings im not sure if he's even landed one punch yet, he just goes for the takedown immediately and thats it. Its simple, he backs down from fights because he doesnt want to fight.
