Im all for Detroit trading with Arizona, but now i think the Cards will stand pat and take their chances that Detroit wont take Thomas. They know Cleveland's taking Peterson and i havent heard any rumblings yet of TB being interested in him. I have alot more confidence in Foster knowing he was picked in the 1st round by a guy who knows how to build an offensive line. Maybe he's not great, but it just doesnt make sense to me to take Thomas when you have this many holes at STARTING positions. Right now, no starting CB and no starting DE. You cant worry about depth and competition now at OT with your #2 pick in the draft. You have to go in thinking Foster will be your starter.

He already kicked Belak's ass earlier in the year. Although, i think that was just a really bad showing for Wade and no way would he be dominated like that again by Cam. I find humor in just about everything HOH, just my way of showing im happy to have Bert here regardless of what he's done.

Move Backus to guard? Has that ever been talked about? I dont think thats something they should do, why draft Thomas with a #2 pick when you already have 2 starters? If you tried to move Backus and it didnt work, then you have 3 OT starters. When you have a team with as many holes as the Lions, you cant afford to do that. They need a DE or CB with their first round pick. I'm kinda glad they dumped Hall...i didnt expect he'd get more than a 4th though. He's really not that good. I tend to think he looked better than he really was cause of Shaun Rogers. Its very possible they'll lump these extra picks together to move up at some point. Not a big move of course, but maybe grab someone's 4th rounder in a trade for 2 5ths.

Very good examples. Odjick hitting Harvey was crazy. Out of nowhere he just totally clocks Harvey right in the jaw! That wasnt a love tap either, he had some serious force behind that one.

I really like when he gets on the refs for calling bulls*** penalties, on either team. I always feel the same. You can always sense a little awkwardness that Ken doesnt agree with him.

I still want Andrew Miller in there at #5 over Maroth...i know its unlikely but i hope he continues to be very impressive this spring. It really sounds bad and unrealistic. 62 players on the game are rated 100, Michael Barrett's a 96, and the game is supposed to have a TON of bugs and glitches. Some things never change! The Show is supposed to be good.

They also got a OT in the deal, i believe he was Denver's starter but im not sure on that. If so, that'll put the kaibosh on drafting Joe Thomas. There was a mention in the paper a couple weeks ago of a small rift between Millen and Martz on the draft. Martz wants Thomas, Millen wants a QB. So thats a little scary, the chances of us drafting a QB have risen now.

I cant believe Millen pulled this off, this is a GREAT trade. Now, i'd be very skeptical if say, this was Mike Bell or some other unknown guy who only will produce in the Denver system. But Tatum Bell actually has alot of talent, I liked him at OSU. And here...i wouldve been happy with Chris Brown as the KJ insurance policy! Now if Jones can get healthy, we finally have a legit combo, which worked very well for good teams last season.

I hope you arent referring to the toughness portion of my comment and just the hitting part. No, they are not consistent hitters. Maltby hits in spurts, one or two games he'll look physical, the next 10 or 20 he wont do anything! Franzen to me, has totally lost the little edge he was playing with before. I remember seeing some pretty decent hits out of him very early in the season, but i dont think he's been physical at all since. The complete lack of interest i see from him in scrums doesnt look very good either. Now that i think about it, maybe this all coincides with being roughed up by O'donnell...who knows.

One problem here. Who's team is better built for the playoffs? Anaheim. Burke has Holland beat in the category that means the most. Why is it that this one acquisition of Bertuzzi is supposed to mean all us Holland bashers were wrong?? I dont get it. Past mistakes arent all of a sudden eliminated. Its like for instance, lets say the Lions next year go 14-2. Does this mean the Millen bashers were wrong all along? Hell no. He just did things right this time! All the past criticism loses NONE of its validity! And no...im not comparing Holland to Millen, just using it as an example scenario. The fact that people seem to be the most excited theyve been in a long time over this trade just goes to show that Holland wasnt doing a good job before and the criticism was in fact, warranted.

I just think it would help to have a guy playing that role.The 2nd for Mayers i dont think was all that much, sure it was overpriced but its not that crazy. I mean what would his going rate be any other time during the season? I'd peg it at around a 3rd. I dont know much about Carcillo to know if they Pens gave up alot for Laraque and if we couldve topped that.

It appears that what i consider gritty is different than everyone else....aggressiveness and not passing up chances to hit is part of it for me. Im not just being a hater, ive had issues with the team and Bertuzzi helps (key word)to address some of them...but doesnt solve them. He cant do it alone. Calder doesnt do anything for me. Also, i mean what if Bertuzzi plays a couple games, re-injures himself and thats it? Then all of a sudden, you're back with the same old team with no physical presence at all. Thats why i just dont get why they didnt get at least 1 other guy for the 3rd or 4th line... One or two guys who at least hit consistently and bring a little toughness on the 3rd and 4th line doesnt require Peter Forsbergs.

"Soft" to me is pretty much a general term thats directed to guys who dont hit, will never fight, ...and just as a whole dont really play physical. Datsyuk would the prime example of a soft player, as well someone like Lang. Sorry, yes Zetterberg too. Im not even sure i can recall the last time i seen a hit out of Draper.. I may be that oooh and ahh guy you're referring to, but way too many times do i see the Wings completely give up the chance to lay a hit. In the playoffs you need to be out there bangin' to wear the other team down!

I wish the Williams trade wouldve fetched someone who can hit at least. I mean, Calder?? Ick. I understand the positive end of it being a Williams salary dump for next year, but i have a hard time believing Calder was the only guy we could get. For a team lacking physical players...why him, thats my problem, you know? The 3rd/4th line couldve REALLY used somebody. I'll just try and look at the bright side i guess in that we at least got 1 guy who's a physical presence..because i do like Bertuzzi. I am a little leery though about how physical he'll play with his back problems though.

Yes, thats part of it. Basically going in i viewed this team as the softest set of forwards in the league. Now is adding just Bertuzzi supposed to make them not soft now? I went into the deadline believing they needed AT LEAST 2, preferably 3, guys added who could play physical...becuase they really didnt have any going in. You cant be a soft team and expect to match up with Anaheim, Calgary, and San Jose. We got 1, Calder is certainly not physical for anyone who may suggest that. So its a step into the right direction, but certainly not enough to make a believer in Holland and say sorry for doubting you. Hell no..

Sorry, finally adding 1 player with grit isnt gonna make me shut up!
