The Tigers tried to trade Colon for Mesa around deadline time last year (Rockies didnt accept)...so theyve been eyeing him for a while. I just dont really know what they're seeing in him either!
-
1) I'd have to say Janssen followed closely by McGrattan. All- time would be Twist and Brad May. 2) I dont really despise any fighters, the little s*** talkers like Barnaby that most people hate i tend to like. I used to hate Dingman and Mckenna but they arent around anymore. For whatever reason, I always root for the other guy when Jody Shelley fights...no idea why but i just do. So i guess he'd be the closest thing.

Jones going back to the Marlins would certainly make the Mesa signing make a ton more sense (not that im happy!) I guess it all depends whether they wanna give the closers role to Zumaya now, cause i sure as hell hope they wouldnt consider Mesa. Would they really trade Jones again though? I know its a business and all, but i have a hard time thinking they would. Unless of course they told Jones that Zumaya will be the closer and Jones asked to go somewhere where he could close...

Even if Phoenix were out of it...what use is Lilja to them?? Thats a pointless trade, wy not just keep Laraque?
-
First Sheffield, now Mesa...another player signed that ive always hated! This makes me wonder about a possible Fernando Rodney trade being in the works. Possibly for a lefty reliever? I could definitely see some teams eyeing Rodney for a closer role. I just dont see Mesa really having a role with Jones, Zumaya, and Rodney ahead of him.

Well those predictions were atrocious lol... I had completely forgot Pinner was on Minnesota....absolutely hilarious to see him run all over us! I loved the shot of Kitna yelling something like "what the f*ck was he doing?!!" when he walked off after the last pick. Looks like we got the trifecta today...Garcia, Harrington, and Pinner all with W's. Someone needs to pay attention and pick up Rogers just to play against us.

I think Roman Colon will be dealt off in some insignificant trade before spring...he's not good enough for our pen and he's really just taking up space in Toledo. He does have good stuff when he's on but he'll NEVER be a starter for us...so let him go to a bad team and get a shot. Also, Im hoping a strong spring by Miller leads to Maroth being dealt. Nothing against Mike, but after last season now im craving for the next young gun!

A lefty with 71 K's in 44 innings? I dont care if that is in A/AA...definitely worth a shot for nothing.

An 8 team playoff is too many, i'd be more in favor of 4. Let the BCS system decide the 4. The problem with the 8 teamer is that it does detract somewhat from the regular season. The beauty of college football is knowing that if a team loses twice, theyre DONE....and in some cases even just 1 game and theyre done. Just adds to the excitement! Seeing some 2 loss teams in a playoff would just suck imo.

Did not say Leak was better than Henne. All im saying is that i find it "funny" (pun intended) that the QB you're calling a joke has a better rating than the QB in your avatar. So obviously, he cant be that much of a joke...or else you dont think that highly of Henne (which i know isnt the case) Also, Henne was better WR's threw less TD's than Leak. All while Tebow got some action as well. Both teams also had the same number of rushing TD's...so an argument that Michigan just runs for more TD's cant even be used. So really...is there really much of a disparity between Henne and Leak? (enough to call one a joke?)
-
Its not only their strongest argument, but i feel its their ONLY argument. Not nearly good enough to deny another team a shot.
-
"The joke" has a better QB rating than Chad Henne. Florida beat LSU, who's defense id say is a little better than Ohio St. I dont see the Buckeyes defense shutting just them down...gimmicky or not.
-
Agreed for the most part. Only thing i think would be different is Indiana and Purdue being in the same, although its a pathetic "rivalry" they are from the same state. Oh and by the way, I totally agree with your assessment of the schedules and your edges. I think Arkansas would probably run all over Notre Dame if they played, but i dont have a problem with giving the edge to Michigan's win being that it was on the road.

Sorry for being a post ***** this morning lol, but i cant believe i missed these gems from my buddy eva!!! Sorry but you just lost all credibility with me here. That Central/Tennessee one being even is the most RIDICULOUS thing ive ever seen! Florida St was down this year, but considering a win over Northwestern to be on the same level as a win at FSU? Completely assinine! And you guys look forward to these posts?
-
Nah, A.O hit someone from behind and Paul Gaustad went after him. A.O. didnt fight back at all from what i read. Mair fought Muir.
-
I know it may not sound like it given my posts, but myself i actually am neutral. I am neither die hard Michigan nor die hard Michigan St. Hell i have multiple shirts of both schools in my closet! When they play each other, im indifferent to the outcome. May the better team win! So by me saying i dont feel Michigan should be #2 has nothing whatsoever to do with Michigan St. I believe im looking at this completely unbiased. I look at the facts, see that Michigan already had their chance, and that the SEC is clearly the tougher conference. So that makes Florida more deserving. I believe i mentioned this earlier in the thread, but if the Big 10 were split in 2 divisions so they could have a title game, Michigan and Ohio St would be in the same division. They would not have an oppurtunity to play each other in the title game. This year you wouldve seen something like Ohio St vs Wisconsin.
-
As for who has the overall tougher conference, lets look at the breakdown: (arranged by conference records) 1) Florida vs Ohio St- ill just go with the consensus X BIG 10, although imo i think Fla is right with them 2) Arkansas vs Michigan - i think thats a good game but with Dick at QB ill go X BIG 10 Now heres where it totally sways to the SEC 3) LSU vs Wisconsin - i think LSU would cream Wisconsin personally... X SEC 4) Auburn vs Penn St - X SEC, Penn St did nothing at all this year 5) Tennessee vs Purdue - no debate, clear XX SEC (2 x's cause Tennessee is much better) 6) Georgia vs Minnesota - X SEC 7) Kentucky vs Indiana- no doubt X SEC 8) S.C. vs Iowa - X SEC 9) Alabama vs Northwestern - X SEC 10) Mississippi vs MSU - ill go X BIG 10 11) Vandy vs Illinois - X SEC 12) Mississippi ST vs nobody - ill give the charity X to the Big 10 So tallying that up...thats 9- 4 in favor of the SEC. I invite anyone who thinks the Big 10 is on the same level to do the same thing i just did. Undefeated? Well that all depends on the scheduling.... i could easily see a few road losses occuring if they had to say, play at LSU. Thats a loss imo. Same thing with Fla, if they played Ohio St in the swamp id bet on FLA....if it was in the Shoe id pick OSU. So to automatically say they'd be second at best isnt true...cause theres certainly noone else in the Big 10 that would beat them.
-
I remember seeing Gary Danielson's breakdown during last nights game and couldnt agree more. While he is obviously a schill for the SEC now, you cant even argue with his points he made during the schedule breakdown. These are the cold hard facts, and its as simple as this: Both teams have 1 loss, Florida faced the tougher schedule - EDGE FLORIDA Florida won the toughest conference, Michigan came in 2nd - EDGE FLORIDA Michigan already lost to OSU, Florida hasnt had their oppurtunity - EDGE FLORIDA Thats what it all boils down to and is cut and dry imo. The only scenario that has NO controversy to it is Florida playing Ohio St. Really, how the hell can Michigan have any right to ***** whatsoever when they already LOST to Ohio St???? Get the job done on the field next time!
-
Yes, it was a good move no matter how you look at it. Ben Wallace would not have signed for 1 year, it wouldve been a huge contract. I said this before the season started so what he's doing now has nothing to do with it...he simply was not worth a max contract and it wouldve hampered the team for years.
-
McCarty cant even beat Laperriere anymore...wow is he getting bad.
-
Manny Ramirez would cost us Bonderman among others for sure, i say no. If he hadnt gotten damn Sheffield id probably be for it...but Manny, Sheffield, and Magglio? Nope dont like it.
-
Are you serious? You're gonna take one game like this and overanalyze it? By the logic you're applying here i guess we can throw Boise St at #2...since they beat Oregon St! The Broncos are getting robbed!!!! Of course it would be USC. Pretty simple: USC>OSU>UM
-
Oh those werent predictions...like i said it was just the way i'd do it if i had control and could pick my own games. I had no idea about the 3 team rule though...
-
UCLA actually has a better chance at beating USC than Notre Dame had. Just because its a state rivalry and its at their house. Its doubtful but you never know.. I know this is not how its going to play out, but if i had control and could pick the most interesting and best matchups here's how id go: Ohio St vs USC Michigan vs Arkansas (because i feel theyll beat Fla) LSU vs Rutgers/Louisville Florida vs Boise St (lets see whatcha got now Boise!) Big 12 champ vs ACC champ ( lets see who's the best out of the s*** conferences) Yep that would be 3 bids for the SEC! They certainly deserve it more than say....Wisconsin.
