I found these stats to be pretty interesting..

    Detroit interested in Marleau

I would do cartwheels (or at least attempt them) if that were to happen

    Dimitri Young Released By Tigers

My first thought was for an off the field reason. But, the more i think about it, maybe the performance thing is legit. Here we have a guy who cant play the field, and is a solely a DH. Hes certainly not the only guy thats been scuffling, but he is one that doesnt offer anything BUT his bat. And if that aint workin, he's got nothing. I tend to believe Leyland as well.

    Detroit interested in Marleau

The Wings defense in terms of youth and prospects is already paper thin as it is, this team can not afford to lose Kronwall. However, if an even more unlikely 3 way trade were thought up where the WIngs could send Datsyuk at the same time for a young defenseman that would be great. Something like: Sharks get - Kronwall, Hudler, prospect or draft pick Wings get- Marleau, good young defenseman from a third party 3rd team gets - Datsyuk um a young Shanny had alot more than a "touch" of grit. Shanny was alot more physical in his younger days. NO COMPARISON. Hell Mark Bell would be a much better comparison than Marleau to a young Shanny..

I am not saying it was right, but In all fairness, WR is a very important position. At the time i bet there were very, very few people criticizing the Charles Rogers pick. I bet 98% of Lions fans were excited about it. It made perfect sense to get Joey a top target. Its easy to backtrack now and say boy that was stupid! I'd even say the Roy Williams pick made sense in that Rogers was an injury question mark and there was still a gaping hole at that position. I think he still will turn out to be good anywyay this year. So really, imo, the 1 pick that deserves to be justifiably criticized is Mike Williams. Since Matt Millen arrived he's been attempting to build a St Louis Rams style offense, so i really do understand what he was trying to do with these picks. Unfortunately none of our FA recievers have worked out, so it made him feel like he had to keep drafting them.

Anson Carter an (e4) Detroit according to Eklund

Would rather see Carter signed than someone like Bondra, not that i have any excitement towards this...but could be worse i guess.

According to the papers, Rogers will be cut in favor of probably Shaun Bodiford if they go with 6 recievers. Williams, Bradford, Furrey, and Drummond are the top 4, M Williams will make the team just because of potential and contract. As long as Glenn Martinez's ho ass isnt the one they keep over Charles as the #6, cant blame then for this. His time's up.

Im thinking Clevlen will be back September 1st. They may have wanted the lefty Gomez for late inning work against guys like Mariano Rivera and Farnsworth...probably figured Clevlen wouldnt play this series anyway so why not do this move and then bring him back in a few days. I cant ******* wait to see Miller...5 innings, only 2 hits, and 9Ks were his final Lakeland stats. I mean if he works out, can you imagine having a Zumaya/Miller combo? Talk about getting a strikeout when you need it..

Nice to see Chris Shelton hitting .297 now down at Toledo, for a while he was holding steady at around .250. Andrew Miller's line through 2 relief appearances at Lakeland: 3IP, 0.00 ERA, 1 Hit allowed, 6 K's.

I know on paper its certainly not over, and yeah im jumping the gun as i do with everything, but i sense nothing but turmoil for the BoSox down the stretch. Minnesota will fade soon as well imo, they needed another bat and now without Liriano they dont have the arms to carry them. A few less wins every 5th day is all it takes. Andrew Miller pitched a scoreless inning in relief for Lakeland Monday, with 2 K's. Still scheduled to join the Tigers in September.

Yeah its still early, but i just cant see them coming back from this. I know even Chicago was really struggling a little while back and bounced back, but something about this series tells me Boston is dead. By the way i also i wrote off Minnesota at the deadline a couple weeks ago too...so now i just have Chicago already penciled in! Detroit/Oakland, NY/Chicago..its all set

Leyland wasnt messin around tonight! Bringing in Zumaya to hold down that 7-1 lead. I feel like its time to write off Boston, that has to be incredibly demoralizing getting 5 game swept at home by the Yanks. I dont think they can recover from it, not even for the WC.

Martinez is not better than Williams or Rogers...he's a bum with not only zero talent but zero upside.

    Detroit - Montreal Trade

I'd have to agree with that. Dumont/Murray (plus the picks) >> keeping Lang/signing a Bondra

2 things i wanna next game : Josh McCown with some regulars and Bill Swancutt up against some stiffer opposition than 4th qu bums. Its really not fair that McCown is subjected to throwing to Glenn Martinez.

My god Kelvin Pritchett's announcing is so BAD i actually like him! Its just comical to me. "That was a horrible throw". His voice really reminds me of somebody...I think maybe Michael Smith from Around the Horn.

    Wings show interest in Leetch?

Given the s***ty state that would leave the Wings defense in, not just currently but in the future...No. Lose Kronwall and you got nothin there...(in terms of youth and prospects on D)

    Maurice Clarrett

And the bad part is given his 4.8 40 time he cant even outrun them

Schneider for Marleau wouldnt happen in a million years. That would be straight up robbery.

Farnesworth's slam on Affeldt was a beaut. Remember that brawl against the White Sox? There were punches and bodies flying everywhere! You had Dean Palmer charging Jim Parque and firing his helmet at him, Matt Anderson with the takedown on Magglio, Higgy with a wicked forearm shiver to someboy out of nowhere, Fick blasting Bill Simas with a running punch, Karim Garcia sucker punching and bloodying Keith Foulke,...and that was only round 1! Brocail charging out of the dugout to attack Bobby Howry was the highlight of rd 2!
