Colts = Choke coach, choke QB. Bad combination Mike Williams is lazy and he sucks
-
Clevelen absolutely DESTROYED that pitch by Wells! Nice little slap fight between Adam Kennedy and some Rangers pitcher last night.
-
I think Penner alone could probably make up those goals if Selanne were to have a down year. Agree on Joe T needing to step up, and they also need to move one of their goalies for a defenseman (preferably Nabokov if possible of course). But they have some serious talent at forward..
-
None of it matters...this team is no match whatsoever for Anaheim, Calgary, and San Jose come playoff time.
-
Yeah...just saw it in the paper right after i posted. Bring a stick this time around Ramon!
-
A friend told me last night as i was bowling that Polanco looked to be done for the year...I was devastated! I still havent seen it, but this sucks royally. He is so important to this team, at least Omar isnt totally imcompetent though. I think they need to reconfigure the lineup...try Omar at leadoff and Casey batting 2nd (hes really heating up too!). I dont like Granderson/Casey cause of the double lefty thing. Move Granderson down to Casey's spot, which is typically 7th. They have to call up another IF, i hope its not Santiago, lets give Ryan Raburn a shot as a backup. He's been in the organization for a long while now..as does have some power.
-
Unfortunately i think Booter's chances are just about eliminated completely with the Johnson signing. Assuming they still acquire 1 more forward (like Bondra), that means Bootland will have to beat out both Hudler AND Kopecky,...and thats just to get the 13th forward spot! It wont happen.
-
I know K'ing has always an issue for Curtis, even in the minors, but it seems like lately he's been really chasing some s***ty pitches.
-
If Bondra goes to the Wings this will undoubtedly be the softest lineup of forwards ever.
-
How 'bout that Jonesy?!? 1- 2 -3 slammin that door in their face! (hope i dont jinx him for tonight ) Is it just me or over the last few weeks has Granderson been striking out an extreme number of times? Seems like every game he's got at least 2 K's. He hasnt hit a homer in ages, and neither has Maggs. Not that a homer is everything...but its like where has the power gone.

Bulls*** rules, especially this one: Talk about killing the excitement of having a kickoff with 10 seconds left...
-
To take a positive out of a loss, nice to see Rogers pitch very well again. Too bad the defense blew it.
-
I know its just preseason, but im excited about the offense. I loved that play where Orlovsky threw to Harris, Martz at his finest. I agree that McCown is great to have, at the very least a solid backup and does still have potential...but I think Kitna will be the man this year. I like him, Im expecting some good numbers out of him and some W's.
-
If one's gotta go itll be Rogers. They definitely can not cut both....they have to at least give Williams another year or 2.
-
How bout those Lions! Im feeling good about this year, the playcalling on offense will be so much better with Martz. And doesnt it look very weird seeing him on our sidelines?? KJ looked good, aside from a couple plays that got eaten up he was running strong. Even Mike Williams had a nice grab, of course then he dropped one..but to his defense he did take a pretty good shot from behind. Theyre gonna have some tough decisions to make with WR, how many do they have to cut? Obviously Martinez should be one, but i definitely dont wanna cut Furrey and this Bodiford guy is intriguing with his speed.

Friday means 3 things for me: Lions football, Tigers baseball, and some 40's of Olde English.
-
New game i thought up. The Dr. Z drinking game During every Tigers broadcast, every time a Dr. Z commercial comes on you have to do a shot. I guarantee you wont be standing in the end. Lets see, 9 innings...giving us 17 commercial breaks . Maybe another 5 or 6 breaks for pitching changes...yeah you'll be looking at around 22-25 shots when its all said and done.
-
Its the second place team with the best record. Think of it as like the #4 seed in the NHL.
-
I also remember when he pitched on ESPN against the Sox he was consistently in the 98-100 range, it was a couple digits lower than what he always hits on FSN Detroit. Sure he couldve been a little tired that day, but just seeing that plus the ungodly 104 that time makes a little bit skeptical. I cant recall seeing them show any of the radar speedboards on the road, i'll have to watch out for that next time. Im not saying he cant hit 101, im sure he does, but that consistent 100-102 (occasional 03)on seemingly every pitch is what im not too sure about.
-
Not that im a doubting Thomas, I know the guy throws unbelievably hard (and he's also my Tiger!) but im starting to wonder whether these MPH stats are "juiced" a little. Whenever they showed the one on the big scoreboard last night it was always 1 MPH higher than the one on the tv. I also believe the one on the tv may be off at times as well...one time it had Joel at 104 and there wasnt even any mention of it whatsoever, like they just knew the gun was spiked. There's other things that make you wonder at times, like Grilli coming out of nowhere with a 97 which ive seen, or Rodney with a 99.
-
lmao, thats great. I cant believe they left out him saying "per se" (spelling?) Over the last month thats been one of his favorite words! 'He's not a power hitter per se..."Just listen to for it. That best of 5 crap is whack...Ive always hated it, not just because the Tigers will be in it now
-
Every time i look at that avatar i play the sound effects the tiger used to have in my head! Of course i hope we play the West winner, but im not really afraid of the Yanks too much. I just hope Boston doesnt make it, I dont feel like dealing with Papi and Manny in Fenway. I cant remember, do they still have the 1st round of the playoffs best of 5?? I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT. A 162 game season and you cant have 2 more playoff games? Just seems like such a cheap way to go out losing 3 games.
-
What a great game! I think the best part coming out of this all is that Kenny Rogers bounced back from that first inning and was outstanding the rest of the way. We need Kenny, and I was sooooo let down after the 1st. But to quote Rod...he was dealin' after that. Ive been dying to see Clevlen get another start, its gotta be tomorrow with CC on the mound. Hell im still excited that they will be using Miller out of our pen in Sept, assuming all things go well down in Lakeland. Not to get ahead of myself but can you imagine playing in the CWS and the World Series in the same year??
-
Say hello to a new lefty face in the bullpen come September 1st....Andrew f'n Miller!!!! I thought he had a good chance of being in next years rotation, but holy crap i didnt think they'd be ready to use him for this years playoff run! I cant wait. No chance of him starting by the way, he will be a SP next year,...but since he hasnt pitched since the CWS they dont want to have to build his starting stamina back up. Wouldnt be a good idea anyways, no use risking blowing his arm. And Speaking of arm problems... Verlander to miss next start due to "fatigued arm" . I know he got shut down last year around this time too, I hope to god this is just cautionary stuff and he'll be ok. He's supposed to make his next start, I HOPE!

better not happen..
