Lappy is a little more in Drake's fight class than he is Downey's , but he's a gamer and would drop them with Downey if challenged. Dont disappoint Aaron...

One of Downey or Drake had better fight Laperriere after that, or its a joke.

I dont believe Downey has escaped criticism this year, he's gotten his share when its been warranted...which in the last few games, it isnt. Myself and other members of the "fight club" here got on him for not going after Walker when he had a perfect oppurtunity in the game he beat up Franzen. In that instance he did not do his job and he was criticized accordingly. Also, not looking good in a few fights against suspect competition have come into question in the past. Downey does not get a free pass around here, this whole idea is stupid. More often than that, he has done his job.

Actually, it did give the building a buzz and the Wings got a powerplay soon after the fight....and failed to score. Downey did his job and rest of the guys didnt capitalize. Funny, I didnt know Downey was also a bench coach and had the ability to dictate his own shifts to go after Ott. If you're looking for someone to blame in regards to Ott, that lies with the likes of Dallas Drake and Kopecky (more-so Drake obviously) He's our middleweight fighter, and Ott's, you guessed it... a middleweight.

Even the last Wings/Ducks game, Franzen gives Pronger the stick when he's down...and everybody comes flying in. Even their guys who dont fight are willing to drop them when the need arises, our guys? Nope. Look the other way every time. I was beginning to have hope too earlier in the year, but nobody gives a damn about defending each other anymore other than Downey. Nobody going after Ott at that point was just dispacable to me...seriously. The game's over, send a message for cryin' out loud! (still in a bad mood if you cant tell lol) Oh, and yeah...i'd LOVE to have Nolan right now.

Ott throws down Selanne in that same situation and you'd have 4 Ducks with their gloves off.

Yeah the Rivet thing is what i was thinking of, he's also dropped them with Quintal in the past (double minors i believe) and i i think Jason Smith in a preseason game way back when. But my point is that even though he's not a fighter, its friggin' Steve Ott...youve gotta at least make an attempt. Seeing nobody do anything is the kinda crap that makes me disgusted.

Yeah really...especially at towards the end where Ott just tossed Zetterberg down after the whistle. That was really pathetic and saddening to see nobody do a damn thing. Ott was out there when the final horn sounded too, and again, nothing but a staredown. Holmstrom shouldve at least shed the gloves, just go for the slam for crying out loud...do SOMETHING.

Mac has never been much of a hitter, at least in his latter years here imo. But with that being said, Drake appears to be only good for 1 nice hit ever 3 games or so himself ...i expected a ton more hitting out of him. And now he isnt even fighting anymore... (until today that is!)

Is that Alex Henry? Curious to see how that fight turned out. Henry was never that good but at least he's been an NHL fighter at some point. Plus he's like 6'6 if i remember correctly. EDIT: Doesnt look that big in the pic though so im probably wrong on something...unless Henry is in the midst of falling down.

Haha, the Sammy/Morrow incident where Sammy cowered in fear is one of my favorite moments of him. Im gonna see if i can find a vid of that. Sounds like a good plan, and yeah i f'n hate Mike Modano too.
