I always choose CBC when the Wings are on both. Just like i always go with WGN when the Tigers play the White Sox. I like hearing the opinions on our players from the "other side", especially when you catch them saying something ridiculous...as if theyve never watched the guy play before.

Reed Low was definitely a heavy imo rock. Hell, he was even borderline top 5 at one point (5-7 range). Yes he did start to go downhill, but was still a heavyweight.

Your welcome. I dont think he would HURT the team, my concern lies more with what moves they wouldnt make because they got Fedorov. I think that would probably be their one move, and Sergei doesnt address any of the issues that i have. I can totally understand the nostalgia thing, being that the Wings more than any organization have been about loyalty and keeping many of the same guys around for years....as well as bringing some back. Only natural many fans would adopt that same mindset. Even i think initially it would be kinda cool seeing him out there again, but then reality would set in that he just doesnt have it anymore. I think if you're able to throw out the fact he played here, and look at it as if he were just some random 38 yr old center on a serious decline...more people would see that he isnt the answer.

We have enough defense minded forwards, I could careless if Fedorov can do that. We need someone on the 2nd line who's of a more physical nature and capable of putting the puck in the net. Our 2nd line is going to get knocked around as it stands with both Flip and Hudler on it. Its in need of muscle, which is why Ryan Malone has always been the perfect guy to get. I can only hope he's still being made available. By the way, I am not bitter whatsoever towards Fedorov. Why is it that anybody who doesnt think we should get him back is called that? Maybe its just that they look at it objectively and are able to throw out the nostalgia factor.

Very supportive? That must be an assumption because ive never said it. In fact, the only comments on McCarty ive made lately i believe is pointing out that Downey is the better fighter of the two. Ive never been on the bring McCarty back wagon.

Because i dont feel he's what we need...and the ONLY reason people want him back is because he played here before. If he hadnt, nobody would be interested, and you know thats the truth. Nostalgia is not a legitimate reason. People hang too much on the past, how the heck can we claim he'd produce in the playoffs...because he did so 6 years ago? Thats just a reason people use to cover up the fact that its just for nostalgia. I have no bitterness whatsoever about him leaving by the way, just dont feel he's the answer.

I disagree. I think its a never-ending cycle, where new teams every year will always pony up big offers for rentals thinking this could be their year. Last year, it was the Thrashers and Preds. This year, looking at the latest resurgence by a team like the Caps for example, they may say hey lets give our fans a thrill and put together a monster package for somebody. Or Pittsburgh, or Dallas, etc. Teams have very short term memories, just because the rentals didnt work last year isnt going to stop somebody else from stepping up to the plate and doing it the following year...and the year after that.

I see what you're saying, i think we just disagree on Hudler's trade value. Getting Malone to me is the best you could possibly do with Hudler. I dont see his name attracting any of the teams who might unload their big star like Hossa and Sundin. These teams are looking for at least one great young player in return...Hudler's not it. Jiri is likely to be the key figure for the Wings in any trade involving him. Meaning they arent going to add on a Kindl or Ericsson in any trade where they are giving him up. Its not their style anymore in the cap era. Theyre going to get easily outbid....which again is why i dont understand leaving 5 mill on the table to begin with. Anybody who's worth anything to them the Wings place the untouchable tag on them....how are you supposed to get a premier name without dealing those types of guys? It doesnt happen.

I hate Sammy, but i agree, there would definitely be some takers out there. My issue is with people throwing his name out there in packages for players that are significantly better than him. There is zero upside to Sammy, which means teams are not going to give us anybody of real importance. The best you're going to get in a trade involving Sammy is a lateral move....similar to Williams for Calder. None of this Sammy and a pick for [insert good players name] crap.

I also feel Walker is a good fighter. One of the top light heavyweights for sure, and is capable of beating many heavies.
