Why not give up Hudler if Pitt actually agreed to that though? Gives us something we need at the expense of something that will be replacable in our organization. Malone's value is going up though, and Hudler's down....so now i dont think Pitt would even want to do that. If they did, in my opinion its a must make.

Its going to cost far more than that to get Hossa. You said it yourself that Atlanta would move Hossa to rebuild. That means no interest in Sammy, and little in Hudler. They'd want a couple guys they feel can be key components in the future. Flip would be the guy they'd want, along with Kindl or Ericsson...and a pick or two to cap it off.

The Blues arent going to trade with us so its a moot point, but Salvador would be the guy. I recall seeing a rumor saying he might be moved as he'll be a FA.

I definitely like your line of thinking Dominator. However, Gaustad's not going to be had for Franzen or Sammy, Gaustad is what everyone wishes Franzen was....so that makes no sense for Buffalo to do that. Sammy definitely not. Jokinen is completely out of the picture in my opinion, we dont have the resources in terms of prospects to even get in the running. Erskine im sure could be had, but he's just not the type of guy the Wings would go after....it sucks, but thats reality with our club. Hudler for Malone is a trade i brought up back when Hudler was on his hot streak, but unfortunately Hudler's value is dropping further and further as we speak. Theres still a small chance that could happen i guess, but the more Malone plays tough like he's been doing and the more Hudler doesnt score at all makes it less and less likely.

I couldnt tell you for sure, but its probably because im demented! In all seriousness ive always gravitated towards guys who cause issues on the ice as they make things exciting, for as long as they are willing to show up and scrap on occasion. Downie reminds me totally of Avery (who i also like), in terms of having ability and s*** starting. Corey Perry as well. He's going to be somewhere in the middle...a 20-25 goal, 6 or 7 fights a year guy. The fact that he's dirty tends not to bother me as long as he's willing to fight at times, hell i used to love Marchment.

Well, i think what Bee said just goes back to my list in that favorites from every team thread, he was probably under the impression that i liked ONLY goons, which is understandable. But anyways yeah, me and goons = nothing but love. Not enough to make the cut, but i gotta admit i check the boxscore every Flyers game looking for Steve Downie's name. This article is ridiculously just pointing out the blatantly obvious. No NHL team can "expect" to win the Cup. Hockey is a sport where a team can be outshot 50-10 and totally outplayed, yet win 1-0 because the goalie steals it. Its also unique in the sense that what it takes to win in the regular season is not the same as the playoffs. Games tighten up, become more physical and passionate. Football on the other hand, if you're a top team, consists of winning 3 games. Stupid comparison.

I look at fighting styles. Kimbo wouldnt have the ability to take Butterbean down, and he isnt going to survive in a slugfest against him. Too much size, too much power. If he thinks he could stand there and take shots from Bean like he did with the guys in the ghetto we've seen in the videos, he'd be in for a big surprise. I also look at the fact that Butterbean at least knocked out The Debt Collector, a guy ive at least heard of....whereas Kimbo has beaten nothing but street toughs and an MMA bum so far. Then again, i did get both the UFC fights wrong so who knows..

I dont think Downey would kick Mac's ass, but he is definitely the better fighter. Downey right now is slightly better than the McCarty we last saw on the Wings. But McCarty has declined now the past couple years with age, as we saw during his Flames' stint...so theres really not much doubt IMO as to who's better in that department.

Flip would be going for sure, as would one of Kindl or Ericsson. I dont know what Florida's goaltending situation is after Vokoun, but I think you can throw Howard's name in there as well....as Florida might as well trade Vokoun while theyre at it. I could see somewhere like Philly offering a Jeff Carter perhaps, to give them more confidence in there goaltending situation come playoff time. But even then Flip/one of the d-men/ and Howard wont be enough, i think we can just forget about this one folks.

Yeah i know! I kinda take that with a grain of salt though, its hard to know how knowledgable the guy who wrote the article is on fighting. For all we know, Avery couldve just gotten taken down and the dude overblew it.
