Ugh...im getting annoyed so excuse me while i try to play the reverse jinx card, Im desperate. There will be no fights in the Anaheim/Philly game Belak will not fight McGrattan
-
Im usually surrounded with ribs and whatnot for the Super Bowl, but there i am all day with just my chips and beer. I cant afford to be stuffing down a bunch of food when i need to save room for the beer.

I dont know, the mascot thing just hasnt worked for Sammy like it has Lilja. I used to hate Lilja, now i kinda like him. Sammy i just continue to hate....maybe if i start playing the drinking game ill warm up to him.

1) Samuelsson 2) Jagr 3) Modano 4) Kariya 5) Burrows

When its all said and done though, Dallas will look like the fools for signing Ribeiro to that 25 mill/5 year extension. It was a bad jump the gun move and he now has 1 goal in 12 games since signing it. (Watch him get a hat trick tonight now for saying that... seriously, make sure he's in your fantasy lineup)

Well...of all the former Wings out there, Lapointe has been the only one i wouldnt mind seeing back here. But come on, they gotta stop trying to recapture the damn past, you want grit go get Chris Gratton.
-
I do notice that. Really...if they want a Hockeytown song like that, come up with a new one for christ's sake! How long have they been playing that now? 10 years?
-
I think Riley Cote is starting to emerge a bit though as the year goes on, sure he was no match for Laraque....but a guy like Parros he can beat. He did take Peters twice i believe and also McGrattan. I know what you mean about Brashear though. Yeah i did forget to mention May (shame on me!), a fight between him and Cote would be a wild slugfest for sure. May would most likely lose, but thats the kinda matchup that has fight of the year capabilities written all over it. Two entertaining guys who fight wildly.
-
Lucic hasnt been fighting since getting rocked by Erskine a few weeks back, i believe he's had a broken nose (see pic up top!)...so unless its healed i doubt he'll be fighting.
-
Yeah...im not seeing that one as bad either...not sure what eva is thinking there. Tkachuk scored damn near 40 goals the following year and was over 30 the next 2. Hardly a bust. Taffe is nothing and Ben Eager is a fighter, so why would anybody think Tkachuk for Nagy and Handzus warrants one of the worst of all time trade status? Hell, St Louis did better in the deal than Phoenix!

Yeah i was watching where the puck was too and who had it, cause they wouldnt come out swinging if there was a scoring oppurtunity...but there wasnt. I was shocked myself! I guess maybe Downey felt the message had been sent that he'd be held accountable even if no punches were landed. I was playing cards and listenting to the game after that, so i dont know if McCormick got fiesty at all after that, but i dont recall hearing his name anymore.

Really? That song is one of the few that have lasted the test of time with me. Ive heard it a million times and still really like it, thats a rarity for me.

Oh, and I think Kimbo is going to kill Tank. He's just way too damn old now....but i admit a matchup like that is very entertaining to me and should be fun. In turn, I think Butterbean would kill Kimbo...

Im starting to believe, that keeping next year in mind, they may go with Osgood in the playoffs but keep him on a VERY short leash. I think they'll want to know how Osgood will perform playoff time, or if they'll need to pursue a free agent netminder next season. IMO Hasek should be the guy, but it would make sense for the future to give Osgood the first crack and see what he does.

Im picking Sylvia over Nog (the Pride letdown reasoning ive mentioned before)and Lesnar over Mir by decision in a boring fight. I think Lesnar will use his wrestling to get the takedown on Mir multiple times, but will spend most of the fight just guarding against submission attempts by Mir from the bottom. I think it'll be a very lackluster fight.

Haha, i knew what this thread was going to be even before i clicked on it. I like your thinking here Grittz.

Imagine if Sid won the Byng and the Crosby....how cool would that be? A who's on first routine in the making. "So that Byng guy won the Crosby too?" "No, that was Sidney." "Who won the Byng then?" "Crosby!"

When they announced 2 minutes each...i was like HELL YEAH! I love these refs! Not sure anything beats the anticipation of watching the time tick on a 4 on 4 with two fighters in the box...and praying that the refs dont call a penalty in the meantime.
-
Getting excited over a game has resulted in letdowns lately, but as a fight fan you really cant ask for a better matchup than Anaheim vs Philly. Not sure i can recall a matchup with this many guys on each team who are willing to throw down. Just have to pray that both teams are in a pissed off mood. Anaheim in the midst of a losing stretch, and Philly just getting stomped on by the Rags in their last home game. Oh the thought of seeing - Cote vs Parros Perry vs Downie Moen vs Vandermeer Any of Getzlaf/Beauchemin/O'Donnell etc vs Hartnell or Richards The possibilities are endless.
-
Cool. I'll have to see what i can dig up then.
-
will do! I'd put mine up but i dont have a scanner or whatever it is you need. Hmmm...i wonder if using a digital camera and taking a picture of an old picture works?

Honestly, what is LA supposed to say weeks before the deadline? "Yeah we'll take a mediocre prospect and a late pick for Blake". Of course not, as ridiculous as their demands are right now, they know how desperate teams can get and overpay like they do every year. At the very least, they're showing Blake respect saying they believe he's worth that much. Those demands will come back down to earth by deadline time.

I was on my feet, beer in hand, waiting intensely for Downey and McCormick to come out of the box and drop 'em.

I love Vinny too Kp, I'd also say he's the best all around player in the league. I wish he'd get out of Tampa and go somewhere in the Western Conference. It'd be pretty cool to see him somewhere like St Louis, or Dallas.
