I agree, however, being that you're one of the guys who continually makes excuses for why Anaheim beat the Wings last year....how come you dont use that same train of thought when talking about game 5 or the Wings injuries? Isnt what happened to the Wings last postseason just the breaks too???

Agreed. I too view it as a cause and effect type thing. Other teams dress their enforcers in order to counteract what the "codeless enforcer" might do during the course of a game. All in all it equals fun for me in the end.

I wouldnt say that, its just more or less that im still not sold on a guy like him being a playoff performer. I just need to see another good postseason out of him to convince me is all. Keep in mind im of the Don Cherry mindset that you've gotta have some good Canadian boys leading the way....so im always going to be a little bit skeptical of someone like Pavel until its really proven otherwise. I cant help it, but its not like i hate him though.

Bertuzzi is definitely capable of producing near the same as what Penner would have in the short term. Now in the long run, in a couple years Penner is going to clearly be much better...but as of right now theres really not much difference. Their D is obviously upgraded from last year, and Weight is playing pretty good so far. Getzlaf and Perry are better, most notably Perry is MUCH better. So all in all, if Teemu does come back theres no question all those factors outweigh the loss of Andy McDonald.

The Colorado one i was going to leave blank altogether, i basically just threw McCormick in just to fill the list. Something about Parker, i dont know, ive never really been a big fan, i used to always root for Brashear to kick his ass when he played on Vancouver. Actually i had completely forgot about Ryan Smyth too, i'd probably have put him there. Ive always lived in Michigan, so the Wings have always been my home team for forever. I grew up as a fan....and yeah, Kocur was my favorite as a kid naturally! Physical players and fighters, or guys who are good players and can fight like Horton and Chara, have always been my favorites. Thats why i went with Downey for current Wings....but its not like im not a fan of guys like Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Cleary, Lidstrom, and Kronwall too. I just obviously wish, like some other posters, that we had more toughness from top to bottom....and maybe get rid of a few guys that i hate.

Maybe its because we're talking about a guy who stood out for the Canadian team, has lit up the OHL, and has already scored 2 NHL goals at the age of 19. As opposed to Abdelkader, who really hasnt even progressed numbers-wise this year at MSU. How you can even try to argue that J.A. should be recognized as the better prospect right now is beyond me. The Wings forwards play well defensively in their system...thats the reason they give up less. Theres no question Anaheim has the better defensemen.

I missed the first period, but ive noticed in the past theyve had issues with their pregame pyro and whatnot where it just looks kinda foggy for a little while from all the smoke. Probably from that big shark they use.

You're killin' me over here! That package is pathetic and wouldnt even come close to getting Hossa. Other teams could offer up one player and beat that. Flip is guaranteed going the other way, along with probably Kindl.
