It is between Dallas and GB in the NFC and THATS IT. Minny, Seattle, the Giants, etc...are crap or mediocre at best. If the Vikings had any decent QB i'd say MAYBE they'd have a chance, but they dont. Tarvaris Jackson winning a playoff game? Hell no. The guy makes Trent Dilfer look like a stud! I was thinking Dallas for a while, but you know what, im switching to GB. Something about Dallas, and in particular Romo's mindset, is telling me they wont get it done in the big game. Even though Favre is bad at Dallas, i expect this game to be there and the Pack take it. In the AFC, i'd like to be different and pick someone else....but how can you go against the Pats. I dont think the Colts have it this year, really the only potential threat is the Jaguars. But i really can not see them going into Foxboro and winning. Nah...no way. Who am i rooting for though? The Browns baby!

And with that, Crosby has no chance of being named Bing this season.

I hear ya, but I dont think Laraque can really be criticized for this one. I think Crosby was looking to get into a fight with somebody eventually no matter what...as evidenced by having Laraque give him pointers in practice. Det#1fan - Just curious as to how you scored the Wings fights. I have Kopecky at 1-0 with the win over Sharp. Lilja at 0-0-2 with the 2 crap draws with Begin and Phaneuf. Drake at 1-2-1, with a win over Burish...losses to Mayers and Wisneiwski, and a draw with Perry. Aaron Downey i have 1-1-3 with a win over McLaren, a loss to Boll, and 3 draws with Shelley, Davison, and Fedoruk. All total i have the Wings at 3 - 3 - 6. Im assumiming maybe you gave Drake the win over Perry?

Jackman plays the bully role like this ALL the time against the Wings, somebody has to at least step up and fight the guy for once. I dont expect Cleary to actually drop the gloves with him cause he'd get killed, but Lilja and Drake need to do something if Downey isnt playing.

Crap fight, but... We heard Laraque was working with him on fighting, but this is still quite shocking!

Good game to watch tonight as bodies were flying around pretty good! St Louis was very physical, wouldve been a nice game for Downey to be in. The Wings didnt play soft by any means, but they got knocked around a good bit imo. Meech in particular is gonna be sore. Nice to see Drake's face is healthy enough to fight again, cause he ate a couple hard shots from Mayers. Drake got one in before he fell, but Mayers gets the W.

The Ducks definitely wouldnt get anyone like Ruutu for Schneider. Its not going to be much more than a mid-grade prospect and a 5th or 6th rd draft pick.

Exactly, the shootout era gets its own record separate from the non-shootout era. The 62 mark is set in stone for that reason.

Thats a move i mentioned a couple weeks ago. I'd be all over a Malone for Hudler swap.

Could a morbidly obese goalie shut out an NHL team?

CHI Trades Jim Vandermeer To PHI For Ben Eager
Lou_Siffer replied to WhiteLightning91's topic in General
Here ya go! Ben Eager is a nice acquisition for Chicago, but was expendable by Philly because of Riley Cote. The guy does possess some skill...i like him. I believe he's moved because they arent fond on the idea of both in the same lineup...so one had to go. Cote doesnt win all too often, but he is probably the most entertaining fighter going right now. He's a warrior! Eager is pretty tough, dont let the Roberts fight fool you, that was a bit of an upset. This is basically a lateral move as someone else pointed out. Coincidentaly, or maybe not, both have been involved in fights with questionable outcomes this year. Eager getting his ass whooped by Roberts, and Vandermeer having a war with Nash. Fresh start for both is in good order. -

Wonder no more! I've highlighted the obvious weakness in his game....other than that....he'd be rollin' most nights! -

That might be a good idea considering after the Anaheim trade, the days of Tkachuk being a Weight watcher are over. Now he has McDonald feeding him. -

Fat chance... -
According to the Yahoo lineup for the game, Erskine isnt playing (that sucks)
-
Brashear vs Downey perhaps? Im mildly concerned Downey is going to get pummelled.

Very good hire! I think this is better than Miles....and promoting Ron English wouldve been pathetic. I really like this!

Big effort by the boys today... ..... .... :rotflmao: We're guaranteed losing to KC next week...which is really pathetic. But theyve officially mailed it in

Osgood most likely will not play more games than Hasek in the second half...unless Hasek is doing really bad. I dont see any way of him beating out the likes of Lundqvist and Luongo without being in the ballpark of their games played. Lundqvist will have played 20-25 more games than Ozzie when its all said and done. There would have to be a big discrepancy in Sv% to overcome having played much less games. I just dont see it happening.

I dont feel that way about Boll. I dont think he's a bad fighter at all actually. He's got some wins, and his fights are usually wild and entertaining as hell. Ference used to get pounded all the time, I dont see that with Boll at all. Keep in mind he's only 21 years old too...he's only going to get better as he gets stronger. The Downey fight is a win with an asterisk because of the shift reason, but its still a win for Boll over a borderline heavy nonetheless. The more i see him, the more he's becoming one of my favorites. It doesnt get much more entertaining than this guy. If he's not fighting, he's running someone over...i love guys like that.
-
He's not going to be in the running for the Vezina simply because of the amount of games Hasek is going to get as the season progresses. Its basically out of Osgood's hands.
-
That about sums it up. I dont think it was THAT bad, but combined with the history he's gone for the year. I dont know whats wrong with him...the lights must not be on in his head. Its as if he has no memory of what he's done previously. Game over for Simon.

This one was a from a few nights back, good fight between a couple middle/light heavyweights that features a head butt at the end That got me thinking about one of the best fights ever:

Imagine if the Wings had won all their games...they'd be 32-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!
