I dont doubt that he could be a pretty good player on a bad team. I just dont feel he fits here with what we have on the roster. If he stays, then you gotta trade Flip. To me, thats what it boils down to...one of the two needs to be dealt off as we clearly need to acquire some size. I'd much rather that be Hudler. I dont know what exactly we could get, or who's out there. But just for the sake of throwing a name out there as an example, as i know he was being shopped around at one point, someone like Ryan Malone is a much better fit to play 2nd line winger on this team than Hudler imo.

No, he isnt. Maybe on a bad club, yes, but Hudler ultimately doesnt fit here in my eyes given our makeup. This team needs a bigger winger on the 2nd line. This isnt directed at you because i know you've always been pro-Hudler, but all it will take is a 3 week stretch of him not scoring and everyone will be saying trade him again. Just like Kronwall, right now everyone constantly offers him up in trade proposals. If he scored a couple goals, everything would change and no one would want to get rid of him! Everyone wants to trade off guys when their trade value is at their lowest...i cant stand that. If Hudler proves me wrong and scores a bunch this year...then hey i was wrong. But i think we should deal him..

I like this trade for the D-Rays. Theyre assembling a really nice young nucleus of arms with Kazmir, Garza, and Shields. This team could actually be going somewhere now! Delmon Young has too much Milton Bradley in him, i think its good they got rid of him because he seems like a player who's always going to have some kind of trouble surrounding him. Tigers are apparently close to signing Latroy Hawkins...if they havent already. Dont really like it..

I think you're being a little greedy now Lilja definitely isnt going again....Drake i'd be shocked if he fights at all for another 2 months. Just because he's going half shield doesnt mean he's gonna go out of his way to get hit in his face. Downey/Tarnasky im kinda feelin' though! I think it'll be his turn now rather than Roy.

I halfway agree. I do think Kopecky would probably get claimed, but the area we dont agree on is i wouldnt see it as a loss of any significance even if he did. I also agree that Drake wouldnt get claimed, but in Ellis' case i dont think anyone really sees him as a potential Draper. To me, he seems like you're basic run of the mill decent AHL player but not much in the NHL. I dont think he's horrible mind you, i always thought he was definitely the better than the two scrubs Langfeld and Hussey last year...I just dont see him as someone being claim worthy really.

Not just anything physical, but fighting in defense of a teammate? Yes! Neither was. The Moen fight just came out of a basic scrum, and the Sharp fight just happened out of nowhere. In fact if im remembering correctly, id say this is the first time anyone on the Wings aside from Downey has come to the defense of a teammate by actually dropping the gloves and fighting in a few years now. Is that just a coincidence? I really dont think so.

Yep, its lagging. Lilja's fought before, but how many times in the aid of a teammate? I dont think its a coincidence that it happens now is all im saying. I think the message Downey is preaching is working imo. Years prior i think Lilja comes in with a shove when the linesmen are in the vicinity...and it ends there.

Hudler was getting under his skin though. Not to make Phaneuf out as a big bad ass...but when you get feisty with a noted big hitter like this...things like this happen. He sees its Hudler he's going to give it an extra "umph".
