No reason to make a new thread about this, but I just wanted to mention that UFC 78 is the worst pay per view card of all time. I guess after buying Pride out we're basically seeing what happened when the WWE turned to crap after buying their competition in WCW. Yeah, that is pretty odd. I think when its all said and done, and Getzlaf reaches his prime, that he will definitely be a top 5'er, maybe even top 3. But to say that NOW? And Zetterberg is really good but he is not the best player in the league...you cant just go by the hot start, which is what he's doing. No way you can rank him above guys like Lecavalier and Crosby. Zetterberg needs to put up a full outstanding season before you can even think of doing that. As of this point, those guys simply have proven alot more.

I dont think you can say regardless...i mean 4 losses is just not very good no matter what his numbers. Normally even the 3 losses would most likely knock him out of the running, if not for the fact that everyone else is losing and the only guys' who's teams have standout records are unknowns.

My theory as well. I think the original timetable for Niedermayer's return was probably Jan - Feb, just enough time to get him in midseason form for the playoffs. Although the Ducks seem to be coming back to life now, theyre going to want him back sooner.

Cleary and Meech for Carter????? Come on people... You wanna know what kind of trade value Meech has? He might get you a 5th round pick. I do like Cleary but theres no way in hell you get someone like Carter for him...thats ridiculous. Kesler is 23 years old in case you guys havent noticed, why are all of you thinking Cleary carries the same trade value he does? And even that would be probably be Kesler + for Carter.

Uh....why the hell would they have traded Bryzgalov last season? Hell, the majority of the people here on this board thought Giguere was going down the tubes because of his hip. The Ducks absolutely had to have Bryzgalov as an insurance policy, and in case you need reminding, he had just taken them to the WCF.

The NFL is by far the most popular...followed by baseball, then basketball. After that, with NASCAR having declined, believe it or not probably golf at 4th! NASCAR is still right there after that, and way off in the distance theres hockey and soccer. NASCAR is no doubt slipping, but they still manage to draw 4 ratings. Compare that with the Stanley Cup Finals which, if i remember correctly couldnt even get over 2. Thats still more than double the tv audience..so while declining theyre still well above hockey.

Oh good grief... Lecavalier's going rate would most likely be any team's 2 best prospects (must be highly thought of guys)along with a quality young NHL'er with potential, and a 1st rd draft pick. Kindl and Filppula could qualify as 2 of the 3 players, but what we'd lack is that 2nd good prospect. No one else in our system would cut it as being good enough, definitely not Howard. We're pretty bare after Kindl. Also consider that our draft picks are typically near the end of the round, so that makes you have to offer up even better players than say someone like the Kings to make up for that. Our picks dont carry the same weight.

Absolutely. To me that will be more an indictment on the Lions not being for real and on the verge of tanking than the Giants being good.

I have a pretty tasteless sense of humor but theres a few things that are absolute no - no's. Cancer is one of them. If Avery made fun of Blake for that thats reallybad. You are the voice of reason in this insanity. The Leafs are not going to want guys like friggin' Meech for Sundin, he's a dime a dozen guy...nothing special. Every team in the NHL has their versions of Meech. The Leafs will demand Kindl, or there will be no deal with Detroit. Kindl along with another fairly good rated prospect, a '08 1st and probably a '09 2nd is what it would look like. No Meech, no Hudler, no Sammy, no Lilja, no Kopecky, ETC!

Also keep in mind i was one game off with the Kopecky prediction....so that might be my thing! Saturday might just be the day youve been waiting for. Especially with him being scratched....if there was ever a time for Lilja to fight it would be coming off a scratch and playing against Sharp! Two things going for us.

Jackman usually plays pretty rough against the Wings, and theyve taken a few liberties and gotten away with it in the past i.e. Johnson running over Hasek. And the thought of him possibly taking on my boy King...yeah, that would be nice too! Downey wouldnt fare well, but i'd love it anyway.

Lilja's only chance would be to throw a couple shots then shoot for the bearhug and drag him down...basically what he tried with Moen only not look like as much a wuss doing it would be the goal
