Thats it. Downey has worked really hard and made it longer with this team than anybody (including myself)wouldve expected at the start. Now we're talking about snubbing him on the 4th line for newcomers who are total unknowns...that just isnt good. If they have so little confidence in Downey that they need to sign a guy from college, call up another rook who wont score with few NHL games under his belt, and a guy who hasnt done anything in a long while to ensure they dont have to play him why even have him on the team. I think with what he's done this year he absolutely deserves to play if 2 or god forbid 3 friggin regulars are out.

I feel like McCarty is going to try very hard to fight Burish this game. Burish is a wimp, but McCarty has gotta feel like he really needs to make some kind of mark in this game....especially with all the injuries and playoff spots being open. Add on to that that its at home, and i think its a pretty strong bet.

Agreed. I mean i can see if everybody was healthy and he was scratched because of a regular who's been here, but if he loses out to Abdelkader, Helm, or even McCarty i think thats a slap in the face to him and sends the wrong message.

Carcillo still has 1 game left against Anaheim tomorrow. Funny thing is I was just thinking yesterday when i posted this how much i would LOVE to see Carcillo and Brad May fight, without even knowing they were playing each other. I will be one happy man if that goes down. That would be one hell of a fight i think.

Yeah, i feel exactly the same. Playoff blowouts can sometimes result in something special for us though. Whereas most people would turn off a 5-1 game in the 3rd, you couldnt drag me away from it

Yeah Flyers/Penguins would be great. But that one makes me really nervous about their chances, whereas if they managed to slip into the 6 seed and got the Caps thats one they'd win imo. (and you still got Brashear in that series for the extra curriculars). But im also rooting for Boston, so if they hold that 6 seed down its not exactly a bad thing.

NHL.com has Carolina listed as 9th, but unless im missing something i think thats a foul up on their part. Carolina right now is leading the division (they have more wins than Wash), Caps need 1 pt in their final game to take the spot as the Hurricanes regular season is complete. Ottawa is in.

Im not really getting the logic behind saying that opinion has now changed. How does J.A being on the team now make him better than Latendresse, who's already proven himself in the NHL? Im in favor of giving him a shot, but i just dont see how you came to this conclusion.

Awww come on! I know they have Hartnell who you hate, but they have some really likeable guys like Mike Richards. Riley Cote is like an NHL version of Rocky Balboa, Lupul and Carter are pretty cool too! Give these boys a chance

McGrattan never plays, i always check to see if he's in to decide whether i want to watch their game. Hell he may be hurt for all i know, ...but i think he's just always a healthy scratch.
