It is 100% impossible eva. The human pollsters would NEVER allow Michigan to enter the national championship game....it doesnt matter what the computer has. Mark my words, even if Michigan ends up with only 1 loss, there will be teams with 2 losses ranked ahead of them in the polls. Put yourself in the NCAA shoes, do you honestly believe theres even a 1% chance they would put Michigan in the title game after this? Lets say they actually won it all, do you realize how ridiculous that would look? All it would do is further open the floodgates of all the smaller schools complaining again...nope, wont happen.

Please give your definition of "very well"! Joey had a couple pretty good games, but take away that game against Detroit and his overall numbers are awful. And hell, even including that game theyre no good! His rating was actually lower than it was in 06. Theres a reason they didnt want him anymore.
-
In this case though, it does. They would never be put ahead any other 1 loss team, nor would they any 2 loss team imo. Its over. No way in a million years would they risk having a national champion that lost to a division II school..
-
And why is that? Henne just had a s***ty game against a division II school, with a costly interception. Im sorry he's not the golden boy you may have thought he was. The only way to salvage this season is by getting Mallett some time now. Best way to get people to overcome the devastation as soon as possible is by getting them excited for the future. Thats Mallett. Am i saying completely replace Henne with him? No! Im just saying give him a share of drives like they did previously with Henson, as at this point with national title hopes gone it cant hurt. Better to get him some experience now.
-
LMAO! Unbelievable! With Michigan's season being over, you might as well get something out of it and play Ryan Mallett. Perhaps split time with Henne, like Brady/Henson, you have to already start thinking about next year. Might as well get him some experience now since the season is totally shot.

I hope not. Kitna may not be the greatest QB in the world, but Leftwich is no better. Whether you like him or not, Kitna is the Lions guy this year. Giving up anything of value for an overpriced backup isnt a good move. I cant think of another place that makes more sense for Leftwich to end up than in Atlanta.

It sucks but you had to expect something like this to happen. The UFC is going mainstream and is trying extremely hard to shed the "barbaric" image of the sport some people still have of it. Case in point is the way they continually stress how their fighters are protected whenever theyre on a show like a ESPNews. Unfortunately Babalu had to be the one theyd make an example of, as i was saying he's on the backburner of his division anyway so they probably felt it wasnt that great of a loss to them. Especially with the new guys coming over. He'll go on to IFC or the IFL or whatever and dominate im sure...

No one really played poker??? Everyone has! That is the reason why poker took off so much, because it was very identifiable for people. Maybe not professionally, but who hasnt sat around and played poker with some buddies at one time or another? Seeing the whole cards of the players on tv was cool because it gave everyone an oppurtunity to watch what the pros do in situations we all encounter playing. Also im sure many felt they could improve their own game by watching it. It has definitely burned itself out nowadays, but it was legit, very popular programming a few years ago.

Oh come on Opie! Markov and especially "break out Lilja" arent even close to Beauchemin! At this point you definitely cant say a healthy Kronwall is better either. How has he proved that so far? If Neidermayer comes back, you're looking at one the best defense corps ever imo from top to bottom. Nobody else would come close to matching what they'd have. Also , as was pointed out by YoungGuns, you cant just match Chelios up against Pronger. That would be like a Ducks fan doing Lidstom > O'Donnell just so he can save Neidermayer for a matchup with someone he's better than. You're skewing it to get the result you want! So to be fair lets line it up from best to worst: Lidstrom > Neidermayer Rafalski < Pronger Kronwall < Beauchemin *break out Lilja* << Schneider Chelios = O'Donnell Lebda/Quincey/Meech < Hnidy Now, even if you add lets say, Markov to the equation...it still doesnt change the results.

Haha, yep i supported Bertuzzi, ive never had any hatred towards him because im a violence loving hockey fan! So that Moore incident didnt leave me feeling ill will towards him really. Not saying it was right, but s*** happens! Bonds I despise because of the steroid thing tainting the records, and above all else I cant stand his arrogant attitude. I just dont want him anywhere near this team, plus i could see him costing us a ton and then getting injured anyway. No thanks! I'll take one of the lesser options. Its not so much the way Sheff mouth's off thats always made me dislike him, i actually enjoy guys who speak their mind and say whatever. But Sheff always seems to be whining about race in some way, and plus theres that little steroid cloud over him as well. Like i said though my feeling have naturally softened somewhat on him this year, but at the same time theres a big part of that hopes he retires. I was never in favor of that 2 yr extension for all that money..

True, the Lambert loss is really the only bad blemish, but his future at 205 still just doesnt look that good to me. Especially now with the all new faces to the UFC like Rampage, Henderson, Shogun, etc, and Chuck still being up there...its going to push him further to the background. Plus theres still Tito, who the UFC will continue to push as a top carder in that division no matter what. He's a good fighter but Shogun would probably overwhelm him at this point i think. As far as competing for a belt and making more of a name for himself in the UFC ,185 would really be the place for him, just suggesting it because he doesnt really look all that big at 205 and appears a little bit flabby too. My money would be on him over Anderson... (but then i again i thought Marquardt would beat him too!)

He may not be as good, but Heatley's no slouch and also alot better offensively. Comparing the differences in the two areas, Dany Heatley i think is clearly the better player right now. At the very least, you cant possibly agree that Zetterberg should be ranked 8 spots ahead of him, can you?
-
Agreed,...that one had my totally baffled when i saw it. Theres just no justification eva can make for that. Especially when you look at his ranking for Heatley, who not only beat Hank handily again in offensive numbers (even if you project Hank's games to 82) but also beat him in plus/minus. What possible argument can be made, outside from playing for the Wings, for putting Zetterberg 8 spots higher. And i wont even get into some of the other names he shouldnt be higher than...Heatley's enough.

I could never support Bonds being on this team. Ive never cared for Sheffield but have learned to live with him on the team, but if we had Bonds too i'd be sick! Im keeping my fingers crossed but i have a feeling we might have Piazza sometime this week! Sheffield being placed on the DL today should hopefully spark a move real soon.

I wish Babalu would drop to 185. I like him and he's good, but i just dont ever see him being anything other than on the outskirts of the 205 division. Im not sure if he's ever went down to middleweight or not, i know he used to compete at heavyweight a long time ago...but looking at him it seems like a cut in weight might best suit him. I think he'd be a tough fight with Franklin as well as Anderson Silva.

Nah, my bones are always ready to step up to the occasion against those stairs!

While theres not as many fights as there used to be, what matters for me is that the chance of one taking place is still existent. I mean, i can sit there an entire game featuring Nashville vs Columbus if theres fighters in the lineup. Even if one doesnt end up taking place, it still kept my interest peaked during the game. Eliminate fighting and you take that factor away from me...I just wouldnt be able to watch it anymore. Hockey's like a glass of milk, with fighting being the chocolate syrup. Milk on its own is ok, but i would never even bother drinking it without the chocolate! Ok, stupid analogy but it just came to me as i was typing!

If Vick ever plays in the NFL again, he will be kept on a short leash thats for sure. If he skippyed out on his bail, wouldnt it be ironic if Dog the Bounty Hunter went to track him down? I wonder if Vick's favorite food is collieflower... I hope someone in prison makes Vick his golden reciever! I wonder if Vick will roll over on all his co-conspirators? (i could keep going but i think thats enough!)

Theyre calling it a rear delt strain. No Rod, posterier does not mean the outside of your shoulder

Good start so far...3-0! Ok, im officially starting the trade for Mike Piazza wagon. Im aware he's old and not the same player, but he's only signed for this year, has already cleared waivers and probably wont cost much, and seems like an ideal replacement for Sheffield in the lineup. Bat him in front of Magglio at 3rd (or even 5th and bump up Guillen to 3rd) and i think he could be pretty productive. We dont know whats going on with that shoulder of Sheffield, so i think we need to pick up a bat. Whenever Sheffield comes back, he's going to need days off anyway...and plus you can fit Piazza in at first occasionally. They can make it work.

awww crap i mustve missed it! (*not kidding*)

This crap with Bonderman is just unreal. I can not remember the last time he got out of a 1st inning without giving up at least 1 run. Going into this start, Bonderman's ERA post all star break was something like 7.5. Umm...not good! Lets see what Jurrjens can do against these boys...he's put in another position where we really need him to come through! Casey, youre my boy and all, but for crying out loud enough with the f'n ground balls to 2nd base!!!!!!!!!!!

I didnt see it. The UFC kinda irritates me when the put together what i feel are lackluster cards, so i dont order ones like this. GSP vs Koschek was really the only fight i truly cared about...sounds like it went how i expected with GSP taking it! As for the main event, I felt going in Gonzaga was just an extremely overblown undercard fighter because of his head kick on Cro Cop, and it showed as apparently Couture totally dominated him. The heavyweight division continues to be a mess. They need to just bring Fedor over, as he'll kill Randy and will at least legitimize the division once again. Im not trying to sound like im not knocking Randy, but him being the champ at this stage in his career just speaks volumes about how bad the division is. Im looking forward to the freebie UFC75 coming to Spike in a few weeks, that one looks pretty good!

With me having dial-up, i guess it would be like a real NFL draft since i'd probably be taking 15 minutes to make a pick! Plus i get booted when somebody calls here, which would make it even more like real life since i'd be on the phones while you guys are waiting. Just kidding of course, im not signing up...i couldnt really guarantee i could make the live draft anway. But i'd definitely like to do a NFL pick'em *with pointspreads*

Interestingly enough, that same Ryan Johnson showed not too long after, how a team SHOULD react when he was put in the opposite situation. Johnson is a total non-fighter mind you, like many of the Wings, but what happens when Krys Barch (an actual fighter mind you) runs over his teammate? He drops the gloves and actually instigates with him. Seeing a guy like that react, while a bigger Wing like Franzen does nothing... is something i hate.
