Yeah, Shogun will be fighting in September, a month which the UFC will have two events with one being in England. The England one will feature Dan Henderson vs Rampage for the belt. Im looking forward to Henderson. My thing with Pride mainly has to do with Cro Cop's loss to Gonzaga. I mean, to see him knocked out like that in what everyone thought would be as easy win. Granted, if Gonzaga wastes Couture then maybe he's just really good, but if Cotoure wins...it just makes Pride not look as good. I know upsets happen and all...but that was just a really bad one.

Nice to see a reply lol! Yeah, i always found it kinda odd that there werent more MMA fans here, i would think with hockey being a violent sport they'd share alot of the same fans. But anyways, I was really suprised by what Silva did to Marquardt. I felt really confident he'd get the sub. Also, you know, im starting to question whether Pride has been overrated all these years. You hear it from everyone that Pride was so superior to the UFC, yet the guys that have come over here havent been too impressive except for Rampage beating Chuck. Cro Cop gets knocked the F out by a pretty unkown guy in Gonzaga, Heath Herring loses to an absolute nobody in Irish Jake (?) O'Brien, who subsequently gives Pride's #2 heavyweight in Minotauro a big problem for a round Saturday. Kinda makes you rethink things.

I usually hate Dallas every year, but if Fridge can stay healthy and get back to what he was 2 years ago..this is a really good signing. He's still a good fighter, he just lacks the judgement of being more defensive when fighting pure power punchers! (his 3 injuries have come from the 3 hardest punchers in the league)

Yeah...I dont wanna sound like im pissed off over Drake cause im not, but another year without a fighter just continues to be such a huge disappointment to me. I look at Drake as kind of that guy you love to have when you already have somebody else, you know? But we dont have that somebody else, so thats why im not in love with the move.

But even if Asham wanted 3 or 4 years, i dont really see what the problem is with that. I dont think it would be all that difficult to ensure a spot for him. I mean, isnt Samuelsson due to be a FA after next season?

But theres money there. If they were inching near cap, then yeah...i can understand not wanting to hand out the extra mill for someone like Asham. He'd be worth it, but oh well, i guess this is the best i'll get from Holland!

Boy oh boy...I dont really know how i feel about this! On one hand, it could be a hell of alot worse! Im certainly not angry over adding him. BUT, on the other hand, i cant help but be annoyed by the fact that if they were willing to sign someone for physical play why not somebody like f'n Asham! Thats what irritates me the most about Holland...he'll have the right idea, but not really make the correct choice. Like when he talked about the need for a physical tough defenseman a few years back...he was correct that we needed one, but signed Lilja to address it. Now, he sees the need for a tough, physical 3rd/4th liner like i do, but goes with Drake rather than other names that wouldve been better. Oh well, when its all said and done, i'm sure i'll enjoy watching him. The age does concern me though, cause if he's not dishing the hits out then he's pretty much pointless out there.

A big guy who's still young, is tough, and has potential for an all around game to be developed. This pisses me off! Yeah i already know what you're gonna say, we dont have room for a 4th line signing. Well, you're wrong! At the very least, you couldve had him and Kopecky battle it out for the 12th forward spot, and the loser is your 13th.

Winchester signed though on a team that already has Krys Barch, so he knows he's stepping into a potential competition. On the Wings, toughness wise there is no battle. I think if Detroit wouldve inquired about him, he wouldve came. He'd have the best oppurtunity as he's stepping into somewhere where what he does is unique to the team.
