Im sure this doesnt seem like a big deal to most of you, but im quite honestly infuriated right now. You're not going to just pick up those guys like Neil and Moen when they've already reached that coveted status. Their teams will never let them go! Winchester, for a cheap price, is the ideal kinda guy to pick up and develop into something yourself. He's tough and there is skill there to be brought out. Ugh...whatever. Who knows, maybe MacTavish doesnt like him. Secretly? I dont think i've exactly made my feelings about Holland a secret!

Yeah, im over in the 12 mile area, its actually quite nice i think. But like you said, its not as good the further south you go.

WHY has no one looked at Nikita Alexeev yet?!?!?

That friggin big and he's soft? No thanks, I'll pass on La Femme Nikita. -
Haha, actually considering i used to live in Detroit, Roseville to me is quite the step up! I dont think the AHL has a Byng, was just saying that cause he must be extremely soft to have such low PIMs.

That hasnt been made official yet, its back to rumor status but most likely it'll happen. Ive thought about the possiblity the Rangers will move Jagr. Over the course of the last 2 offseasons, they seem to be making an effort to become increasingly North American. No, im not slandering euros by saying this, but if im not mistaken thats all theyve been signing. So i wouldnt be surprised in the least to see Jagr shipped out. We're going to end up with Forsberg, I think its just a matter of time. Holland will follow the Bertuzzi route again and go after another injury question marked player who's value isnt what it once was. Im expecting one of those contracts with a decent base salary but loaded with incentives. I dont want this to happen mind you, this is just what im predicting.
-
6, 16, and 18 PIMs the last 3 seasons. Woohoo another Byng candidate!!

Good theory, give it a go. Personally, I dont think anything will Fall until the end of Summer....but maybe im just being optimistic.

Well, if i were to look at it strictly from an entertainment perspective, I'd love for someone like Boogaard here. I dont put stock in it as such that i believe you need a guy like that to win though, thats just me the fight lover wanting him. I think a guy like that does bring some benefit, but just not enough for me to say its a necessity. As far as whats best for the team, yes, I agree that guys like Mayers and Moen are more what you need. I dont really follow GR either, as far as wins and losses. I just pay attention to who's on the team, and i know there's a couple guys down there like Bootland, Norton, and Amadio that will throw down. I just find it perplexing that an organization that seems to be anti-fighting for the most part would even bother having guys like that down in the minors. But what about all the people at the Joe who get on their feet and roar even when lamest of scrums breaks out? Dont they wanna give these high paying fans what they want? From what it sounds like after reading one of Matt's posts, Nill runs GR basically? That may explain why GR has a few fighters on it and the Wings dont. So to sum it up...I hate Holland

Yeah i think the camera man liked doughnuts too...a Robert Lang replacement?
-
Phil Connors = grit and toughness Instead, we'd sign Ned Ryerson.
-
I predict at least 10 people to say this is a great signing, only later to realize they confused him with Matt Cullen. Its inevitable!
-
"Lacks size and strength"....nice to see they could replace Langfeld so quickly!
-
lol thanks, i was waiting for someone to notice the subtle change!
-
So, now we got people thinking Hussey should make the team?

As far as who i'd want, i'd rank it McGrattan, Boogaard, Ivanans, Orr, Godard, Laraque, and Brashear. The latter two i wouldnt take because of age and lack of desire they show sometimes. I originally wouldve had Orr at 3, but I was kinda swayed by what you said about Ivanans Ian. While right now he'd actually be the worst fighter (which isnt a knock) of the guys on the list, there still is some potential there to get real good and plus he's not a bad player either! I have to with McGrattan in the end though cause he's crazy , and you're basically guaranteed a great fight every time he goes. He's really the kind of guy that any crowd would absolutely love. My god, he'd be a hero in Detroit!
-
I plead the 5th.
-
You think it could be dominant, I think it would be atrocious. We're each entitled to an opinion. Theres no way you can be reliant on a trio like that for your second line.
-
Boogaard or McGrattan for sure! Laraque is still the best, but he's getting older and really isnt my kind of fighter. Ditto for Brashear. Godard's ok, as is Orr...but Boogey and McGratts are more my favs. For pure entertainment, I think i'd have to take McGrattan if forced to choose.
-
That line is atrocius for a 2nd line, way too inexperienced. This isnt Getzlaf, Perry, and Penner, ...it wont work.
-
If we had Boogaard, hell i'd probably be back to actually recording Wings games again!
-
There would be a 0% chance of getting signed by Holland if he were a UFA. Considering he's restricted, he has a better chance of getting a hat trick than playing here.
-
Scrub? Why, cause his name isnt Ashamov? Give me a break, seriously.
-
Yep, i did forget Grigorenko. So Kopecky becomes the 13th.
-
I dont understand why there isnt room for Asham! Holland is saying they arent going to sign a top 6 winger, so it doesnt matter that Asham isnt one. Right now, unless im forgetting somebody, i count 11 forwards....and thats including Kopecky who I would make the 13th if they were to sign 2 guys. None of the GR guys are going to make it, so why is there not room for him?
-
Yep. Once he uses a word like "depth", that talks about a 3rd/4th liner. So now that he's confirming theyre in the hunt for somebody, there is no excuse now.
