I agree, Bootland is not a good fighter. Im sure theyll replace him, as for whatever reason the Wings see the need for a few tough guys on their minor club but not for the big one.

If i was Burke i sure would to! But there has to be a point where Anaheim will have a problem matching, seems like theyve spent alot. But then again, knowing Burke if he wouldnt be able to match a Wings offer he'd probably trade Penner's rights to a team in the East who COULD match it....rather than let the Wings get him.

YoungGuns- The problem with that theory is if Hudler is playing well enough to the point he garners a real good return in trade, then most likely Holland wouldnt even trade him in the first place. We know Holland has zero problem with having too many finesse guys...so he wouldnt move Hudler if he were playing good. He only moves roster players that arent doing well like Williams.

Well i ended up seeing Hnidy to the Ducks on another board, but i believe their link was also Eklund related. But, odds are its for real. I mean of all the people to have a false report about, Hnidy doesnt seem like a candidate! But i guess like they say in Seinfeld.."thats the genius of it". Right Kp?

I have no facts either, but thinking about it, this is more than likely Hasek's last oppurtunity to cash in. He signed a dirt cheap 500K deal, he's going to take advantage of this situation and make some of that up now. Plus if what we've heard is accurate and the Kings are dangling a 2 yr/10 mill deal (which i wouldnt doubt for a second), even if Hasek fully intends on staying in Detroit there is no way him, and his agent especially, are going to look foolish enough to sign a 1yr /1. whatever contract. Thats why i feel its assuredly going to be pushed into the 3's before its all said and done.

If Hasek were signing for under 2 million, it would have already happened by now.

As an impartial person who has no feelings towards Hasek or Osgood, the delay with Hasek re-signing is clearly a money issue. Its obvious the Wings want him back, so that is the only possible stumbling block!

While im not against your plan, a cheaper alternative to Sutton that i like is Shane Hnidy. There was something in the rumor mill about signing with Anaheim, but ive yet to see any confirmation of that. Hnidy hasnt been talked about at all here, but he'd make for a real nice Markov replacement.

He wont go anywhere. But, for the sake of discussion, the only team i could imagine him going to is Pittsburgh. If theyre in the midst of a good year, but have question marks about Fleury for the playoffs...then i could see that being a rental for them.

NN- I certainly dont want him, but why would you "shudder" at the thought of getting Glen Murray? You said in the Kozlov thread that you believed Slava is what we needed because he has big goal scoring ability. Out of Kozlov, Yashin, and Murray...Murray is easily the consistent scorer of the group. But you'd rather have the other 2? Why is that?

Have yet to see anything about the Ducks signing Hnidy

Yeah i know its a crazy thought isnt it? I'd use the cliche "crazier things have happened", but im not sure something ever has! You know, the more and more i think about this...Shane Hnidy would be a really good replacement for Markov! Im not sure why anyone else hasnt talked about him, he's flown completely under the radar. He's mean, and while he doenst fight much these days, he used to so that part of his game does exist if the need arose. I'd be all for this.
