Lets say even if Penner requested a trade, Detroit is probably right behind San Jose for teams Burke would not trade him to.

NO. First off, the Wings, nor probably anybody for that matter, will be going after another team's RFA. Second off, if you're suggesting trade...not a million years will it happen. There is no question Penner will be re-signed.

Nick Boynton is much better than Lilja, there is no question about it. I still favor my scenario involving Bryzgalov if Niedermayer decides he is going to retire. Anaheim will need a defenseman, Phoenix needs a goaltender.

I guess you could say Fischer is already starring in his very own movie here on LGW. Every time someone does a search on him, they're Searching For Jiri Fischer Not to mention he used to throw a pretty mean check, mates. (not so much when he was a rook though)

hubcap07 - McCarty is on his last wheel, he's old and rusty....the Wings should not sign him. If you're looking for a McCarty type, Arron Asham is the way to go.

Put yourself in the shoes (or skates) of any organization in the NHL. Can you imagine the backlash the NHL would get if there was another incident on the ice with Fischer? Knowing theres a life risking heart condition and letting him play anyway? The negative pub would be like NOTHING we've ever seen before.

How exactly does it make sense for Anaheim to give a goalie to the team they just played in the Western Conference Finals? And not get much for him to boot? No way. They can get something good in return from Boston. IF Neidermayer retires, a deal involving Bryzgalov to Phoenix for Nick Boynton makes sense.

Kenny looked like he hadnt missed a beat Friday night. He was very impressive! To see him actually hitting 91mph a few times definitely eases my concern over his shoulder.

He's definitely not suited to be a pitcher on the Marlins, he'd be given the hook more often than not. I mean, lets be straight....he'd be no Tim Salmon or Catfish Hunter.
