MLive's Draft Profiles of Wings' picks

The assault thing was just a joke since im always clamoring for toughness. I had no idea what the charge was even for.

MLive's Draft Profiles of Wings' picks

It says Torquato was convicted of assualt......there may be hope yet! Serious question...do you any of these guys actually use there size to play physical? I remember people being pleased with the size of Matt Hussey when we signed him last offseason! You have to actually use your size for it to mean anything.

wings should go after iginla next off season

Not a suprise to anyone im sure, but i'd ship out Datsyuk in a heartbeat to sign Iginla. But, given that there is zero chance Holland would do that, theres no hope for Iginla to come here.

Yeah..good for Montreal not Tampa! Vinny is worth more than Ryder plus all of Montreal's draft picks.

Sharks re-sign Rivet, 4yrs/$3.5m per year

Exactly! Just because someone gets top pairing ice time doesnt mean he's a top 2 quality guy. I think Rivet is really good for a 5th dman, even 4th,.. if he were on a team like Anaheim that had 3 good guys to go with him. Rivet getting that many minutes just speaks volumes about how much SJ needs to address defense.

Whats that have to do with it? Im not talking about how much ice time he got, im talking about his talent level.

Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

So im assuming you believe we shouldve kept Legace? If you say yes, then although you're wrong i can at least see where you're coming from. If you say no, then you're a hypocrite. Pick your poison.

Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

uhh...im still waiting for one. The guy you're describing is a Jarome Iginla. Thats not going to happen! We have to look for a guy like Bell and try to mold him into something really good. Like what Anaheim did with Travis Moen. For one he let in some weak goals in key situations against the Wings. Its my opinion of him, i just dont think he has it.

Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

Actually, the remark you just made is pretty ridiculous. We're talking about the most important position in playoff hockey...goaltender. Not a friggin forward who is one of 12. Like Manny Legace showed with us, I think Nabokov is showing that he doesnt have it mentally to ever take a team to the Cup.

Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

You made a comment about how glad you were that i wasnt GM. I was merely stating the type of team (tough/entertaining) i'd put together if i were.

Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

And they also lost to a entertaining tough team, so whats your point? Sharks lack defense and will never win with Nabokov. So what form of toughness are you talking about? Can i have an example?

Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

If he were on the Wings, it wouldnt be a possible 10-15 goals, i think thats a guaranteed minimum. At what price? It doesnt look like Toronto gave up very much for him, Toskala alone is probably worth the 1st and 2nd rd picks. Bell looks to be a throw in more or less.

Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

Guys whove scored 25 goals and play physical like Bell are not a dime a dozen. He obviously possesses skill.

Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

Bell was getting better and better for 4 consecutive years before he went to SJ, for whatever reason, it didnt work in SJ. He still did end up with 11 goals, is it impossible to think he can rebound back to his 25 goal form? Guys do occasionally have bad years you know. Bell also brings loads of toughness to a 3rd line. Yeah who'd want an entertaining, tough team anyway.

I like Rivet but wow...thats a crazy price tag. Not smart for a team that needs to address defense to spend that type of money on a guy who's really just a 4th or 5th dman.

Me too. Tonight should be fun with all the possible trading...and nothing especially beats the first few days of free agency! I also really wish Bell wouldve came here, I know there were no rumors or anything to get our hopes up, but seeing him moved twice now and not to here is still just disappointing.

Apparently, the source of this rumor is some guy named Eklier.

    Ducks re-sign Giguere: 4 Years, $24M

I think thats all they really need Harold. Huskins, Jackman, and Dipenta are interchangeable with any bargain basement free agent Dmen, or any rooks they might have. O'Donnell as the #4 played solid, but its not like he's unreplaceable if he wants too much money (which i seriously doubt he would) They proved they can win with 3 really good defensemen.

    'Hawks trade Aucoin to Calgary

Aucoin for a coin (up to a quarter) sounds like a fair deal to me.

    Holland: "Lang won't be back"

Ok, how about a pig version of the song? To start with you can swap the "He's so fine" part with "He's a swine"

Fair deal for both sides, makes perfect sense.

    Holland: "Lang won't be back"

Im sure given his general laziness and love for cheeseburgers, that song will soon be changed to "Moo Lang Moo Lang Moo Lang..."

    2007 Baseball Season

Same thing i was thinking when i heard about the trade. This opens up the long reliever role, and replaces Ledezma with a guy im more comfortable with in short inning work. Good trade. I dont think theyre done, as i just dont feel they'd put Maroth in the pen. I believe they'd feel like they owe it to him to send him somewhere he can start. We're not going to get very good value at all, but take what you can get. His time's up.
