I'd rather re-sign Bertuzzi and sign Asham than go after Hartnell. Also theres still Hudler who can be dealt for a physical guy if Asham signs elsewhere.

Im not big on Hartnell, i think his toughness might be getting a little overrated. He doesnt fight very often, and when he does hes not very good at it either. Also, there appears to be some character issues, and no, im not talking about running goalies,...that doesnt matter to me. Granted if i had to choose between the Wings signing Kozlov and signing Hartnell, of course i'd go with the latter, but i'd rather see other options pursued.

Thats a bit steep for a base salary. I think you'd have to go for a more incentive filled contract with Lang. Maybe 7 cheeseburgers and an Angus burger for every goal past 20. Tell him BK will rename it the Langus burger if he signs.

Gordie and Harold, after reading both your guys' posts and thinking about it a little more...I think i may have been too quick to instinctively back Boogaard. I do think the idea of a camp is a good one, but yeah, 12 is most definitely too young for this. Even 14 probably is as well.

It really is ridiculous the way some overlook everything. You would think having Bertuzzi would be enough to end the whole holier than thou Wings are squeaky clean players attitude. But its excuse after excuse, "Bert hasnt been dirty as a Wing yet". "Ulf only played a few games for us". "Maltby suckerpunching Avery was ok cause he deserved it", "Jiri just made a mistake"....etc. Of course the excuses dont end there either. Every year we lose in the playoffs theres a new one. Against Calgary its that they clutched and grabbed their way to victory, against Edmonton it was cause they played the trap (a perfectly legal scheme to boot), and now Anaheim just got unbelievably lucky.
