There was an article in the Free Press by Rosenberg i believe talking about how quiet the fans were from the get go last night.

Someone called in to Stoney and Wojo about this and had a pretty good explanation which ive thought as well. Theres just not really anyone on the team to identify with and get behind,..no Yzerman, no Shanahan, no McCarty. These guys were heroes around here. Now with the Wings being a predominantly european led team its just not the same to the fans. Also, the Tigers have alot to do with it as well. They are the new "in" thing and have stolen alot of the Wings thunder.

I completely disagree with this, in fact, I think its second only to offensive line as being the most important position on offense. Good WR's have the ability to make an average QB look like a stud (Warner/Bulger for example)...even a guy with a noodle arm can hit guys who get wide open. However, the opposite is not true. You can have the greatest QB in the world, but if his receivers suck ass and cant get open it doesnt mean a thing! You dont have to look any further than the Lions with Schroeder, Hakim, Jefferson, Anderson, etc, etc, ETC!!!! These clowns were never getting any seperation, it didnt matter who was throwing them the ball, they had to throw a picture perfect pass every time or get it batted down. Now dont take this as an endorsement for taking Johnson, as I think the Lions are in pretty good hands with Furrey and Williams. But you wouldnt hear me complaining if they did. I would however complain if they ended up taking Russell, I actually feel his bust chances are higher than Quinn's. Just have a feeling about him.

Honestly Brady Quinn has been coming off so arrogant (or just overconfident) lately that im pretty sure he actually would be really happy if the Lions took him. He just wants to go as high as possible no matter who the team.
