    Rangers seeking additional draft pick

If the rule applies to injured plays, then it should apply in this case. If you're talking about signing a dead player, or some wierd ridiculous loop hole, then forget it. the smith thing is whole-lot-to-do about nothing.

Legace injures himself on Palin's carpet

Okay they did not force banks to give money to minorities, that is the stupidest thing in the entire world to say. What you had were politicians and lobbest making rules and regulations they weren't fit to make. Denmark has the highest employment rate in the world, with a corporate tax rate of 50%, maybe the most liberal country in the world Almost all the states are being run by democrats, many of which have switch because of the economy. You use the example of Alaska, use a real example, alaska has Oil to pay for its spending. Pick one that is similar to michigan. The answer is there isnt one. I like you use the words LESS FREE, that doesnt even make any sense. If the people vote to nationlize thinks like healthcare, then it is their choice, they have the freedom to do so. Just like when michigan voted to make *** marriage illegal. Name one bill passed in the last two years that Bush should have vetoed? Bush is unfit to hold office, he was way too stupid for his job. He threw money at the school system, which was adament cause, except it was a complete failure. The only other thing he increased in spending was the 1) military 2)corporate incentives and subsidies; which is more or less a tax break for those companies that are evil and the onesdont have to money to pay lobbyist get f***ed, which is another reason jobs are leaving your country. Calling Bush liberal is funny, In any event all current free market government are liberal. liberal free market governments. No one uses a liasse faire system. The great depression proved that it doesnt work. The world markets are forever changing, and there will always need to be regulations, knowing how much and where is the tricky part.

Legace injures himself on Palin's carpet

Michigan losing jobs has nothing to do with voting democratic, and it wouldnt make a difference if they voted republican. I has to do with the lose manufactoring jobs to overseas markets. Crimes goes hand in hand with unemployment. There are plenty of ways to run a government, ir really does not have anything to do with being rightwing or leftwing. Canada, a extremely liberal left wing country, had been relatively unscathed by this economics crisis, yet during the last recession in the 1990's, canada took a big hit and america was the one unscathed. But right now its obvious the republicans have done a horrible job. It's only natural that the ONLY other party is doing so well. And Palin is a dumbass.

Toronto might get a second NHL team.

Territorial rights are a sticky issue In one part on the NHL constitution it states (lets call this rule 56) No owner can move their franchise, without approval but many experts think that this is unlawful and if it ever was challenged in court it would fail so then later it states if rule 56 is found to be unlawful then this rule applies if a franchise moves a team to within the boundries of another team, the franchise being moved must pay the existing franchise. now this 'fee' is supposs to be negotiated between the two team. But the team refuses to co-operated then it goes to some sort of abritrator. The interesting this is that when Balsille wanted to move the team to hamilton, his lawyer hinted to fact that they believed that territorial fee was unlawful, and that if challenged in court that this rule might also be unlawful

    Would you trade

well you also have to remember crosby doesnt kill penalties and zetterberg the 1st forward I'd want on the ice during a 5 on 3. That is a huge bonus to him. And that is not something reflected in the plus-minus. plus-minus is good stat but you have to look a the whole line of stats to understand it.
  11. bogeygolfer

    Would you trade

I never said I would never make a one for one trade, but its hard to look at the trade in a vacuum, if you want to factor in the age, then lets factor in the cap aswell, it would put the wings over, therefore it couldnt happen without additional moves. Do it at the end of the season? well datsyuks got a no trade and zetterberg is a free agent. Crosby took his team to the stanley cup finals last year, they definately 'competed' but they ended up losing. I never said crosby is garbage, its just RIGHT AT THIS EXACT MOMENT datsyuk and zetterberg better. factoring out age, salary, ego, suporting cast, and marketablility ofcoarse.
  12. bogeygolfer

    Would you trade

1st of all let me just start off by saying, you are an idiot your list makes no sense, 1) ovechkin is the best player in the world, hands down 2)malkin is barely top ten, especially after his poor, poor showing in the cup finals, I mean the guy didnt even try 3) we where never running zetterberg out of town, 3 years he had scored 5 goals in 5 playoff games the year before. Some people where angry about datsyuk performance. Then TWO years ago they got all the way to the semi finals until their defence was demolised with injuries, datsyuk and zetterberg where both praised and beloved from then on out. 4) everything you said about being brought up by being mentored by the wings greats of the 90's is true, it has made them BETTER players, better than crosby. I really dont understand how this helps your arguement. Yes a 1 for 1 deal might be a steal, but the people who are saying no SAW the cup final last year, datsyuk and zetterberg out performed crosby, hands down. At this current time they are better all around players, one day soon crosby will pass them, but not right now, and with the wings poised to win another cup, why make the trade? OMG, your nucks beat our red wings, dont you feel special?? dont worry one day maybe you will know what it's like to know who ever your team is playing that night, it isnt a surprise that you win. Because as wings fans we know what good hockey players are made off, we know what type of skill set wins cups, we should know. I've watch my wings hoist 4 cups over their heads, maybe one day you will too. yea when crosby is 28 or 30 he's gunna be great, most probably better than datsyuk and zetterberg, but he will also be a free agent by then, we aren't trading for "10 years from now" we are trading for CURRENT production.

Zetterberg out vs. Vancouver; Helm recalled

Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Hossa Filppula-zetterberg-Franzen Samuelsson-Cleary--Hudler Maltby-Draper-Kopecky i think these should be the lines going forward when zetterberg gets back

    TSN Season Preview Special

Oh please, its not like he disrespected the wings. He was probably didnt want to make 6/6, he put in a good word for the wings.

    Downey cleared waivers

here's the deal, the wings plan to have a 22 man roster, instead of a full 23 men to acumulate some cap space for emergency purposes. so instead of 3 players scratched every night, you have two. Right now those players are quincey and meech. Chelios, Maccarty and howard are on IR!!!!! they dont count as any of the 23 player max!!!!! when quincey is traded or when they've built up that extra cap then maybe downey is recalled (thats ofcoarse if you think he won the battle for the enforcer role from maccarty)
  16. bogeygolfer

    Downey cleared waivers

learn to add this makes no sense 12+8+2=22 (minus one for quincey beind traded, 21) the 3 on IR dont count agianst the roster, they are IR!!!
  17. bogeygolfer

Leino and Ericsson sent to Grand Rapids

people on IR, dont count as being on the 23 man roster that post was wrong, also meech is on the team
  18. bogeygolfer

    Downey cleared waivers

Howard and Mac only account for a small cap hit since they only played a handful of games last year for the wings (pro-rated) I think this shows that Mac has apparently won the enforcer/13 forward job from downey. I dont think Mac is seriously injured, because then he'd be like chelios and be on IR.

    Why Maltby?

I posted the same thing in the thread about the young players being cut, you dont want your young players wasting their time in the press box and on the 4th line. Not only will keeping helm or leino on the team all year bring them a year closer to free agency. With the strong top 3 lines the wings have, the 4th line will see very limited minutes, aside from draper who will get time on the PK, So why not let these guys play 20 minutes a night in the AHL and develop themselves into better hockey players. They could learn a lot from that experience, since neither has ever play AHL hockey before.
  20. bogeygolfer

Leino and Ericsson sent to Grand Rapids

yes guys who are injured cant be sent down, but if they are placed on long-term IR they dont count agianst the cap or take a roster spot, where chelios will start the season, giving us another roster spot, which we may not use to start the season to build up some emergency space if they need to call up a goalie or someone in a pinch. But if they do choose to go with a full roster And howard might qualify for long term IR, and even if he doesn't his cap hit is very small since its prorated from the time he spent of the team next year which was not a long time, so he doesnt really affect the teams plans. so my best guess is the same top 20 as you but they only go with 22 players, and scratchs: Meech, Mac IR howard, chelios
  21. bogeygolfer

Leino and Ericsson sent to Grand Rapids

I think everyone needs to calm down, the reason they sent helm and vieno down is because it will stall their growth as players if they sit in the press box every night, (as downey or mac will), or even by getting 5 minutes a game like maltby and kopecky will, when a spot on the top three lines open up, then you will see these guys called up. maltby is a long time wings and kopecky is hossa's buddy, it would be foolish to cut these guys for slightly better players who we'd just end up under utilizing.

    Cherry's At It Again...

I agree with everything he says ovechkin had such a great year last year It'd be tough to match, now that his team is good, he'll find it hard to score, other teams will take games VS caps more seriously. Instead of going in thinking "we'll win 5-2, so who cares if AO scores both of those goals, it doesnt matter, we'll win" they will think "we have to stay on AO all game if we hope to win" and expansion into europe with hopes to build an "equal" league on par with the NHL IS stupid, however I dont think that is whats required, these european clubs want the NHL to become an world wide ubrella brand that will protect hockey in europe. The NHL steals all the talent from europe, and now with the KHL the talent that remains is subpar, and makes for unentertaining hockey. Essentially what would be ideal is a system that mirrors a sport like soccer, imagine an MLS like hockey league for all of europe. Instead of these small little country leagues, you would have only like 30 potentially, with each team having a lot more talent, making for more entertaining hockey. And when one of these teams develops a good player, there is a system in place to compensate those teams when they come to north america. Or any other league. I mean atleast the NHL has the lure of high salaries to entise players to play here instead of the KHL, these european markets are being raped by the KHL and they are powerless to stop it. Their only other option is to join the KHL but NO ONE whats to do that because these russians are very shaddy, and untrustworthy. There is talk of finland, denmark and sweden joining together and forming a league with the top teams from each league.

Schneider waived by Ducks/traded to Atlanta.

Its funny because if he wasn't a complete idiot, he could have gotten something for Brylzgalov and Schneider if he had traded them during free agency. I gaurantee that if Schnieder was waived in june, he would have been claimed in a minute. Atleast Burke could trade him for another bloated contract, one that he could demote to minors and not have count against the cap, because Mat is a good player and his contract isnt yashin like.

    Bertuzzi placed on waivers.

he did have 40 points, thats not bad definately not at the given salary, but throw 1.4 million at him, and it be a real good move
