This post isnt meant as a rude comeback or flame...Just my opinions on a few things. The Wings are the closest thing to a dynasty that the NHL has seen since the early 90's. 1995-2002 (8 years) 3 Cups 4 Finals appearances 5 Conference finals 3 Presidents trophies 5 Division champinships 8 Playoff appearances NHL record 62-13-7 in 95/96 I mean heck, they havent missed the playoofs since 90, theyve won 5 PT's since 95 overall, and have won the division every year since 1992 with the exception of 4 years. Were not "entitled" but we are damn proud, and we deserve to be. (I know you arent saying we shouldnt be, Im just making a point) All teams have floppers. All. Im pretty sure that any team in the league would have liked to do the "Less" that the Wings have done over the past 10 years. 3 recent early exits in the playoffs sucks, but no team can win it all every year. The isles and the Oil of the 80's played in a different era too. So who is to say that they would have the same success later, or the Wings wouldnt have if the cup winning teams would have played in the 80's. Either way, the Wings accomplished a lot. Still looks packed this year, and I wouldnt have expected it. This year has shown that the Wings win because of their system. The Preds are on the rise, but I wouldnt say the Wings are on a decline. The Wings have plenty of good young talent, from Z to Dats, Kronwall to Flip, Howard, McGrath, Kindl to name a few...With the scouting the wings have, I feel pretty good. Lang, Draper, Maltby, Lids, Holmstrom, Lilja, Markov and Schneider are over 30. Out of those 8, 1 is the best player at his position in the league, 3 are solid roleplayers, and two are solid d-men in their own way. Lang and Lilja can go IMO. Maybe Maltby, but the others are still valuable. (I didnt count Hasek or Ozzie. Thats a different discussion.) The Preds traded upshall and parent, but still have great young guys like Radulov, Weber, Rinne, Klein...The preds have 7 players over 30 (not counting goalies, that would make it 9.) Nichol doesnt do much for me, but they are all solid too. It's more even age wise than people think. And once the Preds beat the Wings, playoffs or winning the division, then the bragging rights can start. Until then, no one has been spanked. As do the Wings. We even have 2 cup winning goalies. He wasnt Kryptonite against us in 97, 98 or 02. Avs 2 cups, Wings 3. He kills us sometimes, but weve killed him just as much. He is/was arguably the best player on the planet depending on who you ask, but either way he is world class. I say bring it on! Nashville fans should be proud, and posts like this are fun. No harm going back and forth and bragging, it's good for hockey.

It was nice to see the energy come across on tv for a change...Cant they mic the building different so people stop thinking the Joe and its fans are always quiet?

I second that!!!!!!!!

I noticed that too. Very classy.

Rogers is amazing...as of right now he is our WS MVP... Jones nearly gave me a stroke...but thats just how he plays
-
Very cool indeed...I will have the VCR ready

Agreed, but it might make more sense for buffalo to accept his ruling, and trade him for some sort of return. If they package him with Biron, we are out of luck. Take carter, let babcock whip his ass into shape, and lets get the 30 or so goals we need.

Me too. Its SOOO nice to see them doing well, and earning every bit of it.
-
I read that too...Thats crazy money. See ya Shanny. I also read on spectors that his agent says he wont make a decision until this weekend at the earliest...I say screw him, sign someone else, and make his mind up for him.

If you wish it will come. Yzerman DVD out now with 19 hrs of footage

Ill wait for something more official...120 dollars for something that we could put together if we combined all of our vhs tapes, I think ill pass on. -
No, dont go on, because youre only right on 3 of them as Arice pointed out. I just saw Holland on fox 2 news, and he said he picked belfour up at the air port. Theyre waiting for MRI's... I cant honestly believe that Holland is courting that guy.

If Shanny gets 4 mil a year, prepare to offer Datsyuk 7. Im still floored that we havent made one move...Guerin, Salei, Parrish, Grier, Carter....All of them could have been viable options for us... Shanny can go piss up a rope for 4 million a year.

Eklund: Biron could get traded to the Wings
GiantRobot replied to datsyukonethree's topic in General
No trade clause pretty much ends the debate. If anyone, we would send them Lang, and I wouldnt mind that. Draper is a perfect fit here. -
Id take Norm Maracle over belfour!
-
He likes to get under the skin of his opponents...sound slike my kind of D-man!
-
Id love to see us ship schneider somewhere, and welcome salei and Sarich in..can you imagine that? Lidstrom-Sarich Kronwall-Salei Chelios-Lebda Lilja(although Id liek to see him traded somewhere)
-
Id love to see him play here...I cant see him wanting out of buffalo though...
