You need to check your facts. In that same span, the Wings have won a cup, so you are not far, far superior to them in any way. Win the cup this year before you talk about being the best playoff team by far. Sure you made the wcf last year, but edmonton sent you home in 5 games, at least we won two against them.

Really? Interesting, considering that the ducks havent even made the playoffs 4 of the last 7 years. You didnt take edmonton to "The brink" last year, and the same flames which werent a challenge to us this year took you 7 games to beat last year. You almost won a cup though 4 years ago. Almost. Really close. The wild and canucks(Save Luongo) were a joke. Your first real test is coming.

This is going to be one hell of a series. Ottawa could just as easily win this one, but im taking the Sabres in 6.

Pavel isnt even close to the type of player Thornton is. Thats not to say that he isnt a great player, but you cant compare the two really. That being said... Datsyuk is second on the Wings in scoring... He has been pretty physical, even knocking a "tough guy" liek phaneuf on his arse... He is 4th overall in shots on goal with 38...oddly enough Zetterberg is 3rd in the league with 42 sog...They have faced two good goalies the first of which stood on his head. The chances are coming. The two of them do need to score on the road, but they are playing well...

7 points in 8 games, and one game winning(and potentially series saving) goal... He is stepping up without a doubt.
