The losing to teams they should have beaten from 03-06, and really last year too, has me worried. I don't have the confidence I used to have which kinda sucks. Its kinda good though I enjoy the wins so much more. Lets put this thing out of reach tonight!! So i say goodnight. I'm heading home from work and won't be on tonight. Hope everyone enjoys the game. Go Wings!
-
Yeah hopefully they don't let it be a distraction. They didn't let the stuff the Flames pulled last year in game 5 distract them in game 6. While I would love to see him get beat up on my McCarty take them out by winning instead.
-
UPDATE: Richards will play.
-
Wings are in a better position now than they were a year ago without those two guys. I thought Bert would have stayed for less money but he wasn't worth $4mil guaranteed per year for two years with his injury problems. And Schneider at his age wasn't worth it, especially since they paid Rafalski pretty much the same. I like Rafalski over the long term better anyways.
-
Richards played the most out of any Stars player on Saturday. That would be a big loss for a team already having trouble putting the puck in the net.
-
Yeah both teams will have to deal with it and it won't be Reunion, I thin Ozzie knows how bad that ice was, *cough* Langenbrunner *cough*. I guess you could say it benefits Dallas but if it does it's not by much.
-
Yeah I think it was a goal but from the VIDEO you can't tell for sure. Biron's glove covers it just as it, probably, crossed the line. And the rule says you have to see it and you couldn't for sure. Not like it matter too much, Pens won anyway.

I agree with everything you just said. The economy sucks and ticket prices are too high. My tickets were free on Saturday, but face was $140 for section 209 row 8. Great seats but 140 when gas is almost $4 and costs of other stuff has gone up just wouldn't be worth it. I need that money for other things. It's not that the hockey isn't worth it but other things are more important. Yeah the Wings might not be the most high flying team but they control most of the game which is very entertaining to me. The Wings are winning. For Grapes to say "the Wings will win but no one will care" is stupid. Maybe do some research and not just base it off of your opinion. If someone were to sit there and watch Lidstrom raise the cup the first week of June and say I wish they would have been more "fun" to watch I would reach across and slap the person. On 1130 after the game they were talking about the Devils in 95. That team made hockey boring to watch from the outside but were Devils fans sitting around the summer of 95 saying I wish they were more fun to watch... hell no! The Wings do what it takes to win. They had a lot of big guns in 03 and 04 and how did that work. The almost no name Ducks and Flames too care of them because they knew what would win. They didn't sit around saying we've got to make sure we are more entertaining.

I like how "The Drake" is on the 4th line. Is this the hotel in Chicago playing tonight? And the lines are wrong in that aspect because Drake is on the 3rd but anyways... I don't think the Wings will be distracted by the stuff and I also don't think the Stars will get into too much stuff early in terms of cheap shots. They want to just be aggresive and physical. Keep the crowd in it. Get throught he 1st 10 minutes scoreless and things will settle down. I hope Lehtinen doesn't go that could help a little. I don't know who's gonna win. I honestly thought the Wings would lose game 2. All I care is to get the split in Dallas. I would rather win tonight and lose game 4 if needed but we'll see. If they lose both games it'll be interesting come game 5 for sure.

I haven't had that much of a problem with VS honestly. Emrick always seems to be favoring the Wings IMHO. It's been Don Cherry and Melrose that have been ticking me off with all of their crap. Especially Grapes saying that they will probably win the cup but no one will care because basically we don't have guys who get in fights. Hey Grapes how many fights happened in the 97, 98 and 02 Cup wins? oh wait barely any, other than that blood bath in the 3rd period of game 4 against the Avs in 97.

June 9th is the last possible day fot the finals according to the TSN website. The award show is set for June 12th so there ya go. As for getting done in May if they both swept... it's possible. Looking at my calendar if they both swept, which I don't think will happen, the finals probably would start the 19th or 20th. If it went under 7 it would be done in May. I have concert tickets for June 9th so I'm praying if the Wings are in it, either it doesn't go 7 or the finals start a little early. If they both swept they won't wait till May 26th to start the finals. If it's me I start it as soon as possible because then you are for sure done before the NBA finals start. Get as much attention as you can.

they're screwed. Lets hope he gets this one right.

Horse racing. Theres no doubt in my mind. They did it last year why wouldn't they do it again. The sad thing is that if the race itself does actually start at 6 they would put all the pre-race stuff on instead of hockey OT.
-
espn said 12:00am. It's either miss work completely for those noon starts or stay up really late. I guess since the ratings are never good they just put them on whenever.

Looks great. I hope we get to download one more in a couple weeks.

7:30 on Thursday. Here's the schedule with updated times: Game 1 -- Thursday at Detroit, 7:30 Game 2 -- Saturday at Detroit, 7 p.m. Game 3 -- May 12 at Dallas, 8 p.m. Game 4 -- May 14 at Dallas, 8 p.m. *Game 5 -- May 17 at Detroit, 1:30 p.m. *Game 6 -- May 19 at Dallas, 8 p.m. *Game 7 -- May 21 at Detroit, 7:30 p.m. As for no pacific times in one playoff year 2006 and 2004. As for long playoff runs, like WCF's or beyond, I think 96 was the last year. 97 they plaed the Ducks in round 2. 96 they played the Jets, Blues and then Avs.

These experts have been wrong so far they can keep picking against the Wings if it means the Wings keep winning.
-
Yep you are correct. I would rather them just not have hockey on than have it on and break away from it like last year. Thats a bigger slap in the face imo. It's sad that people would rather watch golf over hockey. Hockey is boring? You're watching guys hit golf balls and then walk up to it and hit it again. I'll take that Nabokov's save last night over a nice chip shot any day.
-
Really? That's surprising. Wonder what NBC has going on this week. Poker or maybe watching horses die on the track again. Maybe they can break away from an OT game like last year for the Sens/Sabres game,to watch the jockies sit around waiting for the race to begin. I have no problem with it not being on NBC I hate them. Give me CBC any day. Even VS. The less Maguire and Milbury the better.
-
No way. That will be on at 2 or 3 in the afternoon for NBC. Thats why the Wings are starting on Thursday to begin with. So that NBC gets game 2.
-
Well the no Flip worries me a little. He's played very well. I think the Wings could be ok without but would much rather have him in there the way this team has been going. And I sure hope Helm is in too. As for Flip if it's not too serious he still has till Thursday to feel better. The one nice thing about having to wait that long.
-
Yeah. 9 would be the latest start most likely and I don't think that will happen but if it does thats a little easier than 10. But yay to no more late nights unless it goes to OT.

I was just thinking a minute ago where are all the people who were saying that Holland should be fired because he didn't go out and get a big name forward. And yes there were people calling for his head. Those same people saying the Wings wouldn't get out of round 1 and now they are sitting the WCF's for the 2nd straight year looking stronger than they did a year ago, imo. I hope this shows some people that no matter what you think Ken Holland knows more than anyone of us in here when it comes to what this team needs and if it's at the right price. Stuart has been great and everyone has stepped up. As for thinking the Wings will do something big in July. I really don't know. I think they'll again look for some scoring help but depending on if the cap goes up and to what I don't see anyone who gets more than $5mil. Gotta think about Zetterberg a year from now will be making around $7mil so I doubt they can sign anyone for that price.
-
He was close on that one. But I have to say even I didn't think they would sweep them.
-
I still haven't see anything else about Sammy. Malts will go in tonight I would think if Sammy is out. Move Cleary up to the 2nd line and Malts goes in with Drapes and Drake.
