Every game is huge this month. Even the game against the Lightning. Yes the Hawks ones are bigger but they can't afford many losses right now. And yeah they need to get a little winning streak going here and pull ahead. I don't think they can afford to fall behind anymore than they are right now.

When will this end? I would accepet this injury in January when Fil, Williams, Cleary and Kronner will most likely be back but with so many guys out this just sucks.

This team healthy is a dangerous team. As dangerous as in years past? No. As Ozzie said "I wouldn't want to face us in round one." And again health is the key but they could do it.

They are also 6 pts behind the #3 team in the West. Man people around here really are glass is half empty kinda people are they? They are teetering on the edge of not making the playoffs with 53 games to go and 6 pts behind winning the central? There is a long way to go people chill out. They fact they are missing their #3 defenseman, their 3rd, or 2nd at times, line center and the guy who finished 2nd on the team in goals last year and they are only 6 pts behind the Hawks, who have been red hot, I'm surprised. I didn't even think they would be where they are. So am I happy? Yes and no. The positive that I look at is the Wings have beaten themselves recently in NJ and against Edmonton so if they can pull their heads out of their butts they will be ok.

I say yes to both just not sure if the number will go up there or not. It should, he was a huge reason why they won those Cups, he was the last big piece of the puzzle for that 97 team. Time will tell on that one.

You're right but even signing the big 3 for a combined 12mil, which anything lower than that will be shocking imo, and getting rid of Sharps almost 4mil they will still be around 52mil for 15 players I think??? going to be an interesting offseason for them if they can sign the big 3, well actually interesting even more so if they can't.

Even if all three signed for 4mil each thats still 12mil and gets them to 55mil payroll next year and only 16 players. Someone will have to be moved. Also even if they signed for $4mil each what a slap in the face to those 3 would it would be when a guy like Bolland is making $3.3mil. No offense to Bolland but the other 3 are franchise players, he is not.

I was thinking about that the other day. It sucks but you can't explain it. Some teams just paly better or worse against certain teams. My alma mater EMU sucks at football and yet the last 5 seasons, before this one, was 4-1 against CMU who was winning bowl games during that time. The TO loss doesn't bug me as much as the Blues games to start the year do. They had a nice grip on both of those games and let them slip away. Against the Leafs they were just outplayed and beaten. It happens. And it's the past. The team is 7-1-1 in their last 9 now I think? And this is without Franzen, Fil and Williams.

yeah the only guy who could be moved, if his NTC was wavied is Rafalski. There is no one else who would be available that would clear enough cap space, not just for this year but for next year too. Plus anyone who is saying they should trade Rafalski that would proably give you Meech and Lebda as your #3 pairing. Like that idea? This isn't gonna happen.

For the right price I would do it. But it won't happen. If he goes to Chicago that would be nuts. Then I would laugh if they lost early. When he went to Philly everyone gave them the Cup. Then he went to the Preds and everyone here thought that would put them past the Wings, first round loss for the Preds.

The radio announcer for the Lightning does something similar when the lightning score an empty net goal in the first pre-season game. You think it was the biggest goal ever. The way Benanati says score bugs me too. It just doesn't seem natural, if that makes sense. And I think it's the Avs radio guy, maybe it's tv, who thinks every Avs player wins every fight. Anyone remember the Osgood/Roy fight? Another right by Roy another right by Roy. Surprised he didn't die from getting that excited.

Someone said it, CBC and TSN are biased towards the canadian teams for sure. Especially as you move down to not Hugson or Cole or Cuthbert. You can hear them sound almost sad when a non-canadian team scores on a canadian one. On VS and ESPN back in the day they got on player bandwagons but never noticed a bias where it seems they are routing for a team.

If it's a goalie I think it'll be Biron. Going back to Lehtonen. Yeah expiring contract but wouldn't you want someone to backup Osgood who doesn't have a history of injuries? He comes in, gets hurt and then you are right back with Jimmy Howard. A defenman would be nice as someone said to replace Lilja. He doesn't seem to be coming back. And while Lebda's speed is nice I would rather have a Lilja type dman in there. So many people want a deal now but the longer they wait the more cap space they have which means more salary they can take on.
