Guerin? maybe. Nolan I don't think so. But anyways you're right about everything else. I mean its funny people are still bitching on this one. I mean Hudler and Fillpula stay put and the wings don't give up much. A great deal esecially since the conditional pick is based on, it seems health and numbers in the playoffs. If it doesn't work out then that sucks and if it does thats great. People want to point out Krupp, if it ends up that way who cares? cause you know you would be one of the people coming in here if Holland did nothing. I guess you can't make everybody happy.
-
I saw that too. Got him for nothing according to that. lol
-
Now Kenny Holland will be looked at as a god. 2 hours ago people were saying how much he sucked.
-
You will hear it a lot. High risk, high reward. Once he gets into game shape watch out. People were complaining all day saying Guerin wasn't too expensive. This was cheaper, a little more risk like I said but this could end up being a good one. I was scared nothing would happen but this is good, very good.
-
why do people act like they know what kenny holland offered? how do you know Guerin didn't say he wanted to play with Thorton again? how do you know St. Louis liked whoever the player is that San Jose is sending them rather than what Detroit might have been offering? Cause if you know these things you should be on TSN right now.
-
I have a feeling the wings won't get anything. With San Jose adding Guerin and the Preds with Forsberg I think the Wings are like the 4th or 5th favorite out of the west. Like people have said they can't compete with the fire power as of right now. the physical side doesn't bother me. Its that the Sharks have two lines that can light it up. And if the Sharks can shut down the wings top line the wings have nothing after that in the way of offense.
-
Guerin not on the ice for morning skate. Wonder if this means anything? Not saying he would be coming to detroit but looks more likely hes being moved.
-
Thats what I am doing. So glad its spring break and no students are around. I can do nothing all day but track all the trades.
-
you can't really post a link since its in its own window. just go to www.tsn.ca and its right there on the right. "Real Time NHL Trade Tracker"
-
Right there on the front page of tsn.ca. I have it open right now. Every time it refreshes I hope its something new but its not.
-
The real time trade tracker is finally up on tsn now. In case anyone is interested.

I'm Calling It Now...Wings Land Olli Jokinen By 3:00
StevieY9802 replied to TheChosenOne's topic in General
There has been talk that they were ready to part with Lang possibly. But even if they got Jokinen they still need a scoring winger in my opinion. Thats the problem with the 2nd line now. Lang has no offensive help. Williams wasn't doing anything and Cleary got ice cold. Calder might be slightly better than Williams since like everyone had been saying he wasn't the same after the Torres hit. But it won't solve the problem on that line. -
Thats not really true. Look at Chicago People didn't go to games for years and they still did nothing because of their cheap owner. And last I heard more people go to Wolves games then Hawks games. How sad is that?

Wings acquire Kyle Calder in 3-way deal

It wasn't from Eklund. It was from someone posting on the message board saying they heard it on the radio. -
Wings acquire Kyle Calder in 3-way deal

Someone posted it over on hockeybuzz but I can't find it anywhere else. And if they got Calder I don't really see how hes an improvment over the out going Jason Williams, if its true. -
Atlanta gave up way too much for Tkachuk. If they were at the top of the east that would be one thing. Still too much but maybe he could help make that push to the finals but this team just gave up a lot and may not get into the playoffs. The Preds gave up a lot but they had a legit shot before Forsberg. I still think the Wings need to do something. If they don't they are gone in the first or second round. You can't ride one line to the cup finals. Guerin would make that second line have a go to guy for scoring goals something they don't have right now.
-
People get down on Holland for getting a "nobody" like Cory Cross but was Jamie Macoun up on the Marquee in Maple Leaf Gardens before he got traded here? It didn't work out so people call him a nobody. And again last year they didn't have that much cap room and they didn't feel like they needed a big name, they were the #1 team in the league and playing damn well, so didn't feel the need to make big changes. This year the second line isn't producing the way you need them to.
-
He broke the Forsberg trade to the Preds before TSN(or anyone for that matter) did. I think thats what he means. He gets somethings out there fast and then other things he just sounds stupid when he says them. Like Tkachuck (or is it Guerin?) wtf? I read it just for the sake of rumors. It entertains me personally.
-
Very strange that nothing was said anywhere. If hes able to play I like him as another center.
-
You make a good point of why they wouldn't trade and yes they are doing better than what people thought, for the second straight year, but like many have said the second line needs help. Outside of that top line who is scoring. Wasn't last night the first night where a goal was scored without Zetterberg, Datsyuk or Homer having any part of it for a while now? Guerin would help out a lot playing on the right side of Lang. I like Cleary there and if he could get going again I like that line. I don't think they will get two top 6 forwards but maybe two forwards total
-
I agree pretty much. I like him if he didn't have the years left. I like this guy despite what some people in here think but its hard to eat that kind of salary, even if the cap goes up, when they have other guys that need to be signed this offseason.
-
Curtis Joseph cried the day he left Toronto and it was 100% his choice to come to Detroit. People reading too much into it. If you read this article he says how hes glad he went to Nashville. http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar.../702170363/1028
-
He didn't sign him, my guess anyway, other than him not wanting to come here is that it would have pushed the wings too close to the cap or actually over it with his salary for the year. But I think he also liked the idea of going to play with Weight. As for St Louis helping the Wings what do they care when they aren't going to make the playoffs and both would be rentals? Its not the same as trading away big star that would be on that team for a while.

I have to give him props yesterday though. He had that Forsberg deal before anyone else.
