i wasnt blaming the defence for anything,did you read what i put or just go straight into your little tirad without reading it fully. I am stating that for the Wings to be a true contender again we need to upgrade the D period. Show me where i was blaming the D for the recent results,

5 games in and the glaring need in my view is an upgrade on the D. We need it but I feel that the current D corps are going to be given a fair crack before any call up or trade is made. Green is still feeling his way into his new team/role and I hope I'm wrong in this but Kronner is on the decline too. Big E has been punching over his weight since being in the show, last pick overall to top pairing on the Wings is no mean fete but it does stand out at times. We then have 2 1st round picks that have played over 200 games but neither seem to have taken that next step up in their careers. When we have Q as the top D performer no disrespect to him but you know things ain't what they should be. DD is going to be a top player for the Wings for years to come, we need to make sure he has at least one genuine no1/2 guy that will be with him. I've said before that ill be happy if our 3rd pairing is Quincey and Ericsson, then I know well have a top 4 that are exactly that, top 4 D men.

hey guys i dont like the way we are getting outshot, but yesterdays game was won be special teams really. we gave up 2 pp and a empty netter at the death, yes the ice was tilted in the 3rd but maybe just maybe the 2nd game in 2 days caught up with us against a team that i and many others feel will go really close to a cup this year.

Looking at how deep we are I would say a major trade would be likely than any ufas getting an invite.

Im sure I read a few years back that Kopitar would love to be a Redwing one day. Maybe there is a window of opportunity for him to achieve this after this season.

I always have a feeling that Kopitar would be a great fit in the Winged wheel.

Don't understand that comment about Kopecky, he's a ten year vet with nearly 600 games under his belt. I'm sure Jurco would be happy to hit that total.

With 7 one way D in Detroit, and now 11 D in Grand Rapids it sure seems like some deal is on the cards whichever way you look at it. I know some will be going down to Toledo, but it bodes well for the future. I believe we have 5 rh on the D in GRs so I really think Blash will won't one of those in Detroit to go with Greens rh shot. But who ?

Franzen I'm afraid has played his last NHL game already. The guy won't be seen in a competitive Wings jersey again. I think common sense will prevail and the Mule deep down knows the cons of a return far out weigh the pros. The front office realise this too, hence us seeming to have overloaded the forward positions this year. So for all the arguments about who will play and who won't, it really is academic.

D pairings; Dekeyser Green Kronwall Smith Quincey Ericsson now could Smith and Kronner move upto the top pair? and give Green lesser forwards to deal with thus hopefully improve his out put. and for all our moaning and groanings, there wont be a better 3rd pairing than Q and E anywhere.

I hear we are maybe looking at Semin on a short term deal, can anyone confirm this your side of the pond. Also having listened to an interview with Mikey Redmond he is convinced Kenny has a trade up his sleeve involving some of our young D going out for some scoring Fwd ? I can see this happening but not sure about the Semin rumblings.
