Ok so we should have hammered the Coyotes the Sharks were there for the taking and we blew both games. In the realism of what should happen with the game we should be on for a beating. But the way things are going and the players we are missing logic says it should be a nice easy afternoon and 2 points for the men from Tampa, but I've got a funny feeling that the boys just might upset the apple cart and surprise us with a stunning effort today.

We'll get into the playoffs but it will be a 5 maybe 6 game series at best. With the addition of a top 2 D and hopefully a top 6 power forward next year will be better. I honestly believe that Babs has got this roster playing above its potential and should he stay it will only get better with the youngsters we have coming up. AA is more likely to be here next year than Mantha but I'm really stoked for what this side will look like in 2 years.

I think because of Howard's $5.2m contract the vast majority of posters expect him to play lights out every game. Deep down we all know that ain't gonna be the case but it's the too frequent times he does have poor games that gets to the fan base. 5 goals on 22 shots is bad enough against an elite team but to give that effort versus the Coyotes is hard to take. It's not Howard's fault he got paid the money he has that lies elsewhere but it has put a lot of pressure on him to be an elite net minder and his talent isn't at that level. The plus side of this game is although it was brutal in the result and goals conceded we came out of it with a point which puts us 3 games clear of Boston with ten to play.

6 game losing streak and now 4th from bottom of the entire league, looks like they are going balls out in tanking for McDavid or Eichel eh? Has this organization got no self esteem !

I've said before that in this day and age of so called parity and cap restrictions that the draft system needs changing. With the cap, teams that keep producing competitive rosters should be rewarded by having the same chance of a top draft pick as those who don't. All teams are on a level playing field at the start of each season due to the cap so it should be the same at seasons end. The days of rewarding teams that finish near the bottom of the standings with top draft picks should be over. If not then why have the cap in place? Maybe the way of drafting could be readjusted to somehow reward sides that manage the cap era better. Maybe the winners of each division go into a draw for the top 6 picks and then continue this system down to the teams that finish 25-30th for the last picks of the first round. I just feel that the draft needs to reflect and reward success in the cap era. Otherwise it'll be the same 3-6 organisations always getting the top picks.

Unfortunately after watching yesterday's game I can only see one outcome. Something is clearly wrong within the camp at present, hopefully nothing too drastic. Anyone know why Cindy was scratched yesterday and is he out for today's game?
